SETTING
.Location: Aleen Minor
.Region: Inner Rim
.Class: Terrestrial

Aleen Minor. A terrestrial Planet located in the Inner Rim of the Galaxy under the protection of the Omega Protectorate. One could expect that the native species were grateful but having a shield unfortunately attracted the sword. This was something a few wise individuals on the lush green Planet understood causing them to show some form of disdain against the Faction. In exchange for their protection an agreement was set so that a Research and Development facility could be built on their soil, most likely away from populated areas to maintain some form of confidentiality. To defend their asset the Protectorate stationed a single orbital defense station, a long range communications satellite and a small garrison of star fighters. Not exactly a large force should the enemy choose to claim the Planet as their own but it was enough to offer the residents a smudge of comfort.

The JumpMaster 5000, christened "Big Bertha", successfully completed its Jump from hyperspace and into the Aleen System, more specifically the Planet Aleen Minor. Brahlis came here with a clear objective. To use the resources and knowledge provided in the R&D Facility in hopes of creating a Personal Shield that would help combat Force Users who stood against the Protectorate. There were other means of course and several compounds in the Galaxy were able to resist the effects of lightsabers such as Phrik, Mandalorian Iron, Songsteel and Cortosis. Unfortunately these items were rare, even in an expansive Galaxy and often they were closely monitored by the Market. There was a high demand for these compounds and people would pay credits out the ears to grab enough for personal armor or saber resistant weapons. This was credits he did not have.

A few days ago the Kiffar sent an encoded transmission to a fellow Protectorate member and a Force User. His name was highly recommended among his peers and Brahlis sought his expertise. The message was audio only but was used on a frequency that signified his allegiance with the Faction. Despite the Kiffars origin he was well spoken and polite, his voice somewhat gruff yet the tone was respectful "Good Evening Mr Solo. I apologize for this unconventional request and I realize we have not been formally introduced. My name is Brahlis Lydeck, a new addition to the Protectorate serving under the OmegaPyre. I know this may seem strange but I require your expertize on Aleen Minor. The urgency of this matter is not of high priority so I understand if your arrival is without haste. I will send the co-ordinates after this transmission has ended. Lydeck out."

He maneuvered his scout ship towards the Planet, its durasteel hull heating up as it entered the atmosphere. Once he confirmed sight of the facility he hailed them on his com-link and confirmed his identification and provided the necessary classification codes. Although the defenses stationed here were almost non existent the squadron of star fighters and turbo lasers were more than enough to reduce his ship to rubble in the blink of an eye. Once his codes were confirmed he was granted docking permission in the second hangar bay.

The transmission from [member="Lydeck"] was not unexpected. Word can sometimes travel fast when someone was seeking expertise and your name was mentioned. Certainly there was someone in the Protectorate that wished Brashlis Lydeck to get the help he needed. Lydeck transmission was not the only message sent to Brad.

The nature of the request did actually intrigue. Brad not being a tech engineer may had not been the most obvious choice but the Jedi did have some experience with personal shield gauntlets. This idea was actually a welcome distraction from his personal life. Good thing he had time to do some research before he was expected to be on the planet of Aleen Minor.

How des one help to assemble a device when he did not have the technical knowledge? It was a puzzling question until Brad remember something back when he was still a Jedi Master. There was a Force Skill that could help. With a little digging and expending some personal resources he acquired such knowledge. Well more like on loan. Jedi Holocrons were treasured and contained knowledge and wisdom of Masters of the Force. This particular Holocron contained knowledge and wisdom on the Force Skill Mechu-deru.

Jedi Master Syrin Quo was not a well known Jedi Master. He passed some twenty or thirty years after the Mandalorian Wars. He did specialize in Mechu-deru. The Jedi Master had served for years as the Master Engineer for star craft at the Jedi Temple on Coreuscant.

Over the last couple of days Brad studied the knowledge under the guidance of of Jedi Master Syrin Quo at the Aleen Minor R&D facility. Long hours of meditation in seclusion and often skipping meals, Brad absorb all he could. If this worked not only would he learn a new skill he would also help out a fellow member of the Protectorate.

After his arrival Brahlis made his way straight to the workshop. Engineers filled the room, each one conjuring blueprints that would better help the Protectorate. They were a dedicated bunch, that much was for certain and the Kiffar could not help but feel a sense of pride. He had joined a formidable organization that strived for equality and peace no matter what the cost. These individuals committed their lives to creation in the form of weapons, armor and items that would reduce casualties within the faction and it was them alone that helped save lives. Brahlis walked up to a certain individual and saluted, his expressions maintained to formality as he spoke "Lieutenant Brahlis Lydeck of the Protectorate Navy. I hope my arrival has not interfered with your research. Do you know if Master Solo has arrived?"
