GNR OFFICE OF THE ARCHON ARCHON
[Appearance & Medical]
Thelir Blackcrown appears to be a genuinely gigantic Norr male standing well and truly above the average for his race at nearly eight feet tall with a whispy build. His skin and features show signs of aging; his bright, albeit weary sunken blue eyes have lost none of their sharpness. He is broad-shouldered with contoured legs, Thelir may not be in the prime of his life, but he is hardly frail even by Norr standards.

Archon Thelir Blackcrown is a member of the Norrmen, a race of Near-Humans and the current head-of-state and head of government of the Grutter Norr Ryk. Thelir is a former professional soldier and once held jurisdiction over a criminal court as a magistrate. He is considered principled, wise and ruthless. Thelir believed that in the wake of the Empire's collapse and their support for it, the foreign powers would seek to contain the Ryk and Norrmen with sanctions that would see his people starved. To avoid this, he came to conclude they needed to expand. Whether right or wrong, Thelir manipulated his nation's need for arable land and agricultural products to drive his population into supporting a policy of vicious expansionism into the rest of the Frysk system, slaughtering the competition at the edge of the galaxy to turn the Great Norr State filled with a terrible resolve to see his nation become energy, resource and agriculturally secure. Thelir, having ascended to his position by assassinating his predecessor, lives by the phrase: "When you strike at a king, you must kill him."

ASSETS
(strengths)Diplomat: Archon Thelir Blackcrown is a shrewd diplomat capable of putting aside his prejudices against the 'inferior' species of the galaxy in the interest of trade, commerce and furthering the state interests of the Grutter Norr Ryk. Furthermore, he is fluent in several foreign languages, including Galactic Basic Standard, Huttese and Bocce.
Old Warrior: Like most Norr, Thelir was an experienced commissioned officer then; most lower men's fathers were still in diapers. Before that, Thelir was trained for war in the same vein as all of his race. His skill and familiarity with marksmanship, fieldcraft, radio telecommunications and drill is unparalleled among foreign heads of state and government.
RISKS
(weaknesses)Domineering: Though he is capable of considering the thoughts and feelings of others when angered, Thelir can become dismissive. Beneath his stately presentation, Thelir is proud, vengeful and suspicious. Thelir is a capable leader and shrewd policymaker; his personality could be best summarised as "part judge and part king".
Stubborn: As a warrior and soldier, Thelir was instructed to be steadfast and stoic in the face of any foe and to not quit or relent even in the face of insurmountable odds. Of course, this has its place, but negotiating and diplomacy aren't one of them. Thelir is obdurate and inflexible, loathe to admit that a venture is no longer profitable and a victim of the 'sunk costs' fallacy. His wife was once his confidant and voice of reason, but she has passed on.
