Ares War-Frame

Intent: To create a vehicle that is good for a single person that can serve as a one man army of sorts.

Development Thread: (The main way people work for their toys, though most submissions don't require a development thread. Restricted items require specific development threads. Substantial development threads can help judges approve more powerful submissions. If in doubt, put 'If necessary,' and a judge may or may not ask you for one. Threads cited here must be at least 10 quality posts and must be cited as the full thread title, no abbreviations.)

  • Straight through the scope: If the scope is destroyed the targeting computer will be rendered inoperable
Description: The Ares War Frame was created out of collaboration between Titan Kryze, and Warren Century. Realizing the need for armors that could take on multiple opponents, work has began to develop a unit that could be used by a single pilot as a one man army.

While in the war frame, a HUD will appear in order to better allow the pilot to drive the vehicle. While a single man can operate a Ares without too much trouble, the War-frames operate best with a gunner alongside the pilot. The downside to this is that if the pilot dies, the gunner will be rendered immobile until the back up pilot can obtain control. The pilot is based where the brain would be.

Review == #2

Suggestions:
  1. Squadron count = 1
  2. Producer = Titan Industries(Name change pending)
  3. Production = Limited (If sufficent Dev)
  4. Intent = To provide a larger version of power armor
  5. Modularity = No
  6. Link faction homepage in "Afilliation" mention of The Collective
  7. Height = 60m
  8. Width =30m
  9. Length = 15m
  10. Propulsion = Bipedal
  11. Material = Durasteel, Quadranium, Titanium

Comments:
This is going to need quite a bit of Dev, if we get a hunderead posts of Dev for it, would you be fine if I used this as my Tier III to Tier IV 100+ post project. I think the max speed we can get out of this is 15 KM/H even with Deving.

Dev thread ideas:
  1. Overseeing prototype construction (Visiting the facility, as the first offical joint project of the Collective. Bumpy relations)
  2. Demonstrating the Ares War-frame's power for NPC's in charge of some planet's military's

We need to figure out weight, and weapons systems. As well as it's cargo capacity and what not. Should the armor also be capable of fighting in space? #1 sounds like the best idea.

[member="Warren Century"], I don't think we need an AI or Remote Control. We want more weaknesses than strengths for something this big.

[member="Warren Century"], not that many. But the bigger the submisson, or more radical, the more the judges are going to look for details, and less powerful. I would say 3 weaknesses to every strength(2:1 With ~50 posts of Dev. 1:1 with ~100). I know it won't be as powerful as you imaganed. But hey, at least you'll have it. Maybe droid level AI would be fine, but not total sentience, with enough Development. I'm sorry if I come off hard, but this is just the way I think. And I'd be more than happy to help with the Dev.

The purpose of a sentient AI being plugged into the thing was to have an "Emergency eject" button in case the pilot became incapacitated, if you catch my drift. What weapons should we put in it though? It's certainly going to need a lot of fire power. We should do both Dev Threads, just to be safe.

[member="Warren Century"], I was thinking you meant make these things into battle droids. Heavy autoblaster and 6 Light laser cannons should do.
