DESCRIPTION:

The Shield Class Star Destroyer is made to be the singular workhorse of the Corporate Protectorate. A great amount of wealth and brilliant minds went into the idea. With their territory being small, and their assets at the time limited the Protectorate knew they couldn't field a super large fleet.

Instead they opted for the quality of ship v.s. Quantity. They sought to strike a balance between utility and advanced systems. Thus the Shield Class was born.

Boasting primarily missiles as offense, and Artemis PDC's as its defense it is a versatile ship. The bridge and CIC is internal to the vessel.

The vessel has a Supercomputer which is linked via network to a series of terminals, allowing the Commander and XO to operate it by voice command, rather than rely on heavy crewing. As a result the need for crew was drastically cut, and a commander can operate a skeleton crew and still command the ship.

The network does however leave it open to Slicer's and Ion attack.

DESCRIPTION

The Artemis Point Defense Cannon is a simple tool in the Corporate Protectorates Arsenal. Designed from the ground up as a small mini-gun mounted on a swivel, it fires 30mm tungsten rounds at a high speed with the help of magnetic acceleration. The system was designed primarily as anti missile; star-fighter defense.

It excels at closer ranges, spewing a sea of projectiles into the area to explode missiles and shred fighters.

It does less well against heavy plating, or at longer ranges, due to cosmic drift.

It is networked directly to the ships sensors and is completely automated.

Cannot be mounted on any vessel less than 500m.

[*]Accessibility: Nestled between Mountains and the open fields, with an ocean to it's east, this location is accessible by air, sea and land. Four entry points in total, two being land based.
[*]Description: At a glance Fort Holstice appears to be a giant blockhouse contribution of several acres. It is essentially a multi leveled square fortress, bristling with launch tubes and hangars mid level, and defensive guns at the top and ground corners of the structure. Deck Cannons also protrude from the mid level.
POINTS OF INTEREST

  • Holstice Armory: Where a majority of the weapons, and tech is kept. It sports enough arms and munitions to maintain the bases defense in most situations, save a multi-year siege.
  • The Shield Generators: Hidden deep in the core complex, near the Reactor, these shield gennys are the primary defense for the base, protecting it from orbital bombardment and ground based ranged attacks.
  • The Ballroom: Every Base need recreation, that's where the ballroom comes in. Lavish and decadent it sports the colors of the The Corporate Protectorate and multiple levels of banisters overlooking the central dance floor.
  • The Barracks: Simple enough, a very large barracks where the Armed forces and staff of the base can sleep, shave, shower and eat.
  • Command Room: An isolated room with blast shielding and blast doors, this acts a s a central ground based hub with which Commanders can reach out any part of The Corporate Protectorate, provided their relay satellites are intact. Complete with a Tactical Operations Center, Holotank and many modes of communications. Also where the guns are controlled from.
  • Weapons Emplacements: Across the top, the middle decks and the lower corners are assorted weapons turrets to bolster the defenses of the base.
  • Motorpool: At the bottom level where all ground based vehicles are kept. Speeders Armor units etc.
  • The Hangar and Launch tubes: Hangars that link to magnetic launch tubes. 500 Fighters are stored here, their pilots on standby to defend the Base and the citizens of the Commonwealth.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Holstice base started out as a simple outpost on the world of Xa Fel. As the The Corporate Protectorate took control and established themselves in the planetary government, they were able to develop mass popular support for a heavy military garrison, citing the unrest in the core. What came to be was a massive construction project that supplied jobs for many years.

A major part of the Forts construction was the removal of old archaic infrastructure, and it's replacement by modernized components. Once upon a time it had been a trading outpost, then it had transformed into a military stronghold. The location of the fort, adjacent to mountain, land and sea makes it easier to control the points of ingress and egress.

The last and final cap was the addition of the fighter decks. So long as the The Corporate Protectorate focused on their Naval power, fighters would play a pivotal role as Close Air Support, giving Holstice an even sharper sword in the protection of her world.


The finished product, Fort Holstice is the primary hub of the worlds military defense. It was staffed heavily and created to be able to outlast a siege if need be. With the the Sith and Imperials a stone throw away, it serves as a primary deterrent to would be invaders.

Day to day life at the base is easygoing. When drills are not being run, approx a quarter of the population is on shore leave, mingling with the local cities and villages. Much of the personnel remain behind on the base, and it features several large barracks, as well as housing for the Senior Officer ranks.

The most notable addition is the Armory, which holds thousands of weapons and rounds, enabling the garrison to mount a stalwart defense against any attack. [*]Description: At a Glance the Defense Ring appears to be a solid mass like ring. Upon getting closer one can determine that is is in fact multiple stations arrayed in a specific pattern and conjoined by magnetic railways to each.
POINTS OF INTEREST

Jast Defensive Net: This is a series of 6x Defensive platforms in orbit around the Equator of the Planet. Upon these platforms are Guns, Quarters, Soldiers, Star Fighters and many more amenities. This is the core part of the Ring, and serves as the greatest defensive measure.

Mercantile Point: Mixed into the Ring is Mercantile Point. A Jast Trade Station that has many berths, cargo bays and serves as a economic hub for the system. The Station itself leaves its door open to any Traders. No good are restricted though they are taxed at a 10% of Profit flat tax.

Xa Fel Drive Yards: Two twin linked Jast Orbital shipyards pump out replacement ships for the Fleet, as well as parts. Thse help keep the force of the Protectorate full and ready.

Xa Fel Support Platform: The Xa Fel Support Platform is a Jast Service Support Station linked to ring. Here food is grown in an agri dome for the planet and the fleet. It also sports additional Quarters, Trade Posts and many other amenities.






HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Upon the Capture of Xa Fel the first Prototype defensive ring was constructed. This one was balanced, suiting the many needs of the Protectorate in that region of space. The original plans serve as a benchmark from which to construct additional rings on additional Conquered Planets.

At a Certain point with the success of automated vessels The Corporate Protectorate decided to push the envelope. Rather than focus on extensive armaments they opted instead for fighter superiority. With a ton of fighter in mind, the Hive Class Star Carrier was born.
