Blue Infantry Battle Company (HOPE)

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Intent: To worldbuild one of the new Infantry Battle Companies
Role: Front line Infantry
Permissions: N/A
Links: Codex Oyu'baat

GENERAL INFORMATION
Unit Name: The Blues, HOPE Troopers, IBC Blue
Affiliation: Mandalorian Protectors
Classification: Infantry
Description: Very light infantry with a penchant for dropping from the sky in great numbers with majestic heavenly force.

COMBAT INFORMATION:
Unit Size: Large
Unit Availability: Common
Unit Experience: Trained
Equipment: Thinsuit
Grav Belt
Mando Assault Rifle
Combat Function: Orbital Drop deployed infantry

Strengths:
Extremely courageous
Good at space drops

Weaknesses:
Unsuited to fighting alone
Very little protective equipment

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Created on Mandalore under the Codex Oyu'baat, along with the other three founding Infantry Battle Companies, this unit has perhaps the toughest task, but one that attracts the bravest among the brave of the IBCs.

This unit's task is to drop onto a target planet or moon from space, and landing upon a battlefield. Sometimes they are the first wave, other times they coordinate with the other IBCs, or arrive as reinforcements.

The Blues are possessed of the most swagger among the IBCs, though they are not the most heavily armored or armed, nor the most well equipped. They are however the IBC most often in harms way by nature of their unique method of deployment from planetary orbit.

Those selected for this training cadre recieve extra training in high and very high altitude deployment. They are taught to master the use of gravity belt and jetpack technology. They fight as light infantry, whether as the first wave, or in support of ground forces already deployed.

Green Infantry Battle Company (Airborne)

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Intent: To worldbuild one of the Infantry Battle Companies
Role: Frontline Infantry
Permissions: N/A
Links: Codex Oyu'baat

GENERAL INFORMATION
Unit Name: The Greens, Airborne, IBC Green
Affiliation: Mandalorian Protectors
Classification: Infantry
Description: Green Clad flying armored fighters, lightly equipped but more heavily armed than their peers

COMBAT INFORMATION:
Unit Size: Large
Unit Availability: Uncommon
Unit Experience: Trained
Equipment: Grav Belt, Jetpack
Heavy Revolver
Heavy Rifle
Combat Function: Airborne Infantry

Strengths:
Able to move fast while providing fire
Flying deathdealers with heavy weapons

Weaknesses:
Less well protected than most infantry
Very reliant on the numbers and support of their fellow IBCs in battle

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Created on Mandalore under the Codex Oyu'baat, along with the other three founding Infantry Battle Companies, this unit is the fire support and reinforcement of the IBC system. Thusly it is most selective in choosing fighters who are suited to flight.

The Greens are the airborne assault force, the heavy punch that backs up the waves of Mandalorians from ground and sky. They fight from the air with superior firepower, and coordinate effectively with their fellows.

They are sometimes derided by the Blues and Blacks as the fancy folk, but their presence on a battlefield is always welcomed, as their fire support spearheads assaults. Each warrior is equipped with multiple means of powered flight, a heavy rifle and pistol, and more.

Combat Function: Ground infantry, weight of numbers, and disciplined attack and defense

Strengths:
Brave and courageous
Excellent at advancing into war or holding the line

Weaknesses:
Equipped as light infantry, without heavy armour or shields
Great training but usually very little combat experience

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Created on Mandalore under the Codex Oyu'baat, along with the other three founding Infantry Battle Companies, this unit quickly grew to be among the largest and most prolific among its peers.

By far the largest of the Battle Companies, the Blacks still walk proudly among their peers owing to the fact they have what is oft seen as the worst job. They are ground pounders, mud thumpers, those that get it done in the muck, and bleed for it.

They fight hard and tough, as light infantry, whether holding the line or going forward. Their signature weapon is a mine clearing rocket which announces their intention to charge into the very face of death.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Created on Mandalore under the Codex Oyu'baat, along with the other three founding Infantry Battle Companies, this unit was unlike the others, trained in orbit above the planet Tracyn, near Mandalore in the shipdock above the Tracyn Academy. There they learn against the commando and supercommando trainees from the elite training facilities below.

Alone among the Battle Companies, the Reds rarely fight alongside the other IBCs, for they alone are responsible for shipboard security on the Mandalorian Protectors starships and space stations. This is their assigned role, and they are proud of it, and though they do not wear the Tracyn patch of the elites, the supercommandos, its well known that they have trained with them. Also unlike the other IBCs, the Reds are mainly non-human, with the rare human indeed who can match their size and strength requirements.

The biggest bodied, physically strongest, and they would say fiercest of the IBCs, they wear heavy armor and pack the deadly PHW-66. Their individual strength is magnified by the powerful armor they are geared with. They are death incarnate when in battle, advancing behind a wall of explosive nuclear fire. Their job is to eliminate threats from their home, and they are well equipped to do so.

SETTING INFORMATION
Landmark Name: Keldabe Industrial Sector
Classification: Multi-level cityscape
Location: Keldabe, Mandalore
Affiliation: Mandalorian Protectors
Size: Massive
Covers a vast area of land adjacent to the Mandalorian Protectors capital of Keldabe
Population: Heavy
Demographics: Mix of humans and aliens, approximately 50% human. 99.9% Mandalorian
Accessibility: Located nearby to the city of Keldabe with high speed public transport available at all hours of the day. Visitors are welcome at the commercial enterprises within the district.
Description: A district of the city of keldabe dedicated to production and industry. The area is a hive of activity day and night, with a constant stream of transport and vehicles in and out.

POINTS OF INTEREST

Ancient's Forge - A small park near the trade school sector, the centrepiece is a small rotunda with an original forge from the anient forges beneath the city of Sundari. Here, ancient smiths can gather to talk of old times, and perhaps pass their wisdom onto willing and capable students of the future.

Iron Cantina - A moderately appointed service establishment that provides quality food and drink and entertainments, catering to visitors and local workers. It is located not far from the trade schools and the forge of the ancients.

Factories and Manufactorums - The factories are where the delicate and skilled technical work of the production phase is done by trained and experienced techs and workers. These facilities are spartan, but functional and well equipped. The Manufactorums are fully automated facilities where droids and automata carry out repetitive production tasks in assembly line setup.

Trade Schools - Educational facilities for apprentices and trainees to learn their chosen craft and trade. There is up to date equipment for practise as well as a ready supply of teachers who have a wealth of practical experience to pass on.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Owing to the amount of funding she was able to direct towards reconstruction, and in addition, the deals she had made with Arceneau Trading Company for their transport services, the Marshal of the Journeyman Protectors was able to exert significant influence over the planning for the construction of the new facilities in Keldabe. Because her remit was not strictly military, she felt able to meddle in civilian areas where she saw it was needed. Arla Rodarch used this influence to apply the concepts of the Codex Oyu'baat, for practicality, efficiency, and for careful selection of instructors, to the creation of a manufacturing and training base for the Mandalorian Protectors.

An entire district of the town of Keldabe was given over for the construction of new factories, and onto this canvas Arla painted her vision. Squat but large warehouses. Huge enclosed manufactories, built alongside factories which would employ thousands of local workers. At one end of the district were constructed trade schools to supply the factories here and elsewhere in the sector with skilled and trained labor forces.

Civilian infrastructure extended into the new district, with high speed maglev transport as well as wide and sturdy roadways. This design was efficient to allow for easy access to the Keldabe space port, as well as ease of commute for workers coming in from Keldabe and further afield. Some of the best trainers had to be brought in from offworld to fill the ranks of the instructors in the trade schools, but this would bring them to full operation immediately, which would pay long-term dividends.

There was little need for any on site or additional security measures given that Journeyman Protectors HQ is nearby and ready to deal with any hostile activity should that be required by a situation. In addition this is the capital city of Keldabe, on the planet Mandalore. There are several million heavily armed individuals who can be called in to assist.

Once construction was complete, the schools went into operation, while the factories and manufactorums all came online. As with any project of this scale, there were teething problems to be sorted out, and it would take time for the facilities to run up to full capacity. There began soon enough, however, a steady stream of finished products coming out of the district. The benefit to the economy of Keldabe and Mandalore was obvious, with a career path opening up for those not wishing to be soldiers, and a boon to immigration and trade across the Sector.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Envisoned as a counterpart to the Tracyn Academy near Mandalore, where the next generation of elite supercommandos are trained, the Fleet Battle Station Ordo is the elite academy for the naval officers of the Mandalorian Protectors. First established with the purchase and refit of an old Sith space station, which was outfitted for modern mandalorian purposes, the Academy was the centerpiece of the station. Assistance from Concord Specialized technologies as well as Clan Gred and Clan Rodarch provided the infrastructure and funding.

The need for a naval presence in the Ordo system meant that the station would also serve as a naval port, which then required the requisite support servicees, and additional security. The MP quickly established a heavy presence in the system, with a garrison assigned to protect the station, the academy, and the port.

With the push to establish new outposts being driven in large part by Clan Rodarch, they were able to instil many of the values and concepts of the Codex Oyu'baat with regard to efficiency and practicality into the Battle Station. The academy was quickly established with a reputation for excellence, while the port became a welcome outpost in the frontier system.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

One of Arla's personal projects which was begun immediately upon being appointed as Journeymam Protector by Mand'alor Ijaat Mereel, the organization of the Journeyman Protectors was a labor of love and dedication.

They had quickly established a reputation for neutrality and professionalism, as well as dedication to duty. Though not a military organization, not part of the official military structure, as a paramilitary organization there were still some similarities.

The Journeyman Protectors continued to grow, and through this process the Marshal was able to identify select elite prospects. An elite squad within an elite organization, the Gold standard became Arla's personal fist, to be handling the most difficult, dangerous, and deadly problems.

As Mandalore began to be rebuilt, and the diaspora of Mando'ade returned home in great numbers, the civilian and military expansion of the Mandalorian Protectors had been carefully overseen. Through the vast varied training programs and camps across the sector, the elite soldiers could be identified, and moved to more advanced training programs where they could excel.

With access to such a massive talent pool, combined with the ability to cast a wide and carefully curated net, the best of the best came to be part of the very first pure combat unit of the Journeyman Protectors. Each had forged her own weapons, fought in battle, and served with honour. By no means other than luck, all nine of Arla's candidates were female, though only three were human. She had limited herself to one Echani for fear of personal bias.

With an initial number of only nine, they are few, but they want for nothing in terms of access to equipment, or budget. This combines the best talent with the best tools for maximum effect, at the personal command of the Marshal.

The Golds wear the finest armor, wield the deadliest weapons, and have the best training, and long experience. They are a sisterhood, who live, work, and fight together, supporting one another, knowing each others strengths, talents, and specialties, all focused to a singular purpose. Winning.

They are more than just warriors. Where they go among the Mando'ade, they bring strength, and aid whenever it is required. From the smallest verd to a grizzled veteran, all Mando'ade know that if they need help, a golden buy'ce is a source for that help. Their presence is a boost to morale wherever they are seen because of this work.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Immediately upon being created by Mand'alor Ijaat Mereel, the organization of the Journeyman Protectors quickly established a reputation for neutrality and professionalism, as well as dedication to duty. Though not a military organization, not part of the official military structure, as a paramilitary organization there were still some similarities.

The Journeyman Protectors continued to grow, and through this process the Marshal was able to identify select elite prospects. The second of her elite teams, the Rangers would function as an integrated team which would be sent out alone to deal with the most dangerous and difficult of missions.

Talent was difficult to find, and it took time after the establishment of the first surveillance and bodyguard units before the Marshal was able to turn her attention to further expansion of the elite. The Golds were established first as the personal bodyguard of the Marshal, but security could not be maintained by guarding alone. Some threats needed to be cut down before they could grow. Some threats laughed off regular army and fleet units.

The Sith had Dark Siders, the Light Side had Jedi, but the Mandalorians lacked integrated Force-User units. The Journeyman Protectors' answer was a team of warriors who could, through training, experience, and most importantly, unity, make the difference between winning and losing, between living and dying.

The theoretical opposite to a bodyguard willing to lay down his or her life for their principal is an assassin, willing to put his or her life on the line to take down their target. Though they serve with honour, and swear to serve the Mand'alor's fist, it was not wished that they stain their family names with the tasks they must carry out. And so was secretly established what was quietly dubbed a Kill Team, a unit of assassins, numbering only eight, and concealing their identities, taking the name of their chosen colour. They call themselves the Rangers, and are known as such in whispers among the other Journeyman Protectors, who may assume they have some official sanction due to glimpsing them in the secure halls of the organization. They, like the Cuy'Val Dar, do not exist officially. They have no names.

White is a female human of Clan Rook, who is an expert rifle shot. Blue is a male twi'lek of Clan Rodarch, who prefers a large two-handed greatsword. Pink is a Falleen female of House Kryze who wields a massive spiked power hammer, and commands the unit. Red is the second in command, and is a female Twi'lek gunslinger and pistolier of no small skill from Clan Fett. Green from Clan Mereel and Orange from Clan Varad might be twins with their love of and skill with swords. Green is human and male, while Orange is clearly Devaronian with his visible horned armour. Yellow is the tallest, an Epicanthix Male from Clan Gargon, taller even than mighty Blue, who carries a long deadly bladed spear much longer than Blue's greatsword. The last and quietest is Grey, a Rodian female who prefers gauntlet mounted weapons, and hails from Clan Garon.

Long story short, any target or targets are going to have five very aggressive and heavily armed melee attackers coming to chop, bash and stab them, while three expert shooters cover them with a rain of very well aimed fire. This is a recipe to take down even the deadliest Force user or small group of same. Especially with the elements of surprise, shock and awe, which the unit is always careful to establish wherever possible. Strike hard and fast and overwhelmingly from seemingly nowhere, and even the very best Forcie will be hard pressed to stand up against you.
