"Armor for the Protectors"

Ayhia sighed as she stood on the balcony of her room, staring at the sun as it set, her mind awash with details, plan and all manner of things. Unfortunately every time she tried to get them down on paper they seemed unorganized and disconnected from what she wanted them to be. She sighed and pulled the Ranger badge out of her pocket, she was doing this for them... the people whom gave everything and asked for nothing.
"Armor for the Protectors..."
A motto for what was currently the random sprawl of details in her head, she was not a businesswoman and it showed. Ayhia returned the inside of her room, which was a disaster of crumpled up paper balls which show how many times she had tried and failed. She sat back down and started to again draft all the info she would need to compile for the licenses, a daunting task to do by alone. It was late into the night when Ayhia managed to get a decent print, although she had added more then a few more paper balls to the floor. Stretching Ayhia stood up and walked around a bit, trying to get the stiffness out of her legs. She was not looking forward to having to ask Sanya for several million credits, but she felt that the Rangers needed a company supporting them and she was gonna make it happen. She sighed and picked up her comm link.
"Hey Sanya can you come to my room..." Ayhia frowned and closed the link before Sanya could reply, something she had taken to doing to avoid question from the staff that didn't think she belonged. She knew that people didn't exactly approve of their engagement i mean she was little more than a spacer with no history, or no history she could prove anyways.
Now all she could do was wait.

The feline woman stood on the bridge feeling the warm glow of the collapsing sun as it set. All official business had been done almost four hours ago. No longer in her usual clothes but something more comfortable, she’d hadn’t done much of anything other than walk or daydream as she looked over the city below. Her comm sounded off snapping her attention back as she rushed to answer it. “you m... And you hung up...” She said to herself without getting a word out. Sanya couldn’t shake the feeling her fiancée didn’t like it here or more that she felt uncomfortable.
It took some time getting to the floor they called home. Before entering Sanya slipped her footwear off then continued. The whoosh of the door made more noise than each of her footsteps as she walked. There was a light on further upstairs. “I’m Back.” She said loudly hoping for a response as she walked up the stairs into the living room. “Heyy.” Sanya smiled at the sight of the echani woman “you look a little frustrate, what’s up?” Sanya walked over to Ayhia close enough to kiss her on the cheek with having to go onto her tiptoes.

Ayhia turned to face Sanya when she entered the room, and bending her knees a little to make her greeting kiss a bit easier. "Hey... Have a seat..." Ayhia motioned to the bed. She would wait until Sanya got comfortable before starting, taking a deep breath she stood up. "So you may have noticed i withdrew a... substantial amount of credits..." Ayhia picked up the small stack of paperwork which detailed a contract, a business plan and a set of reciept's for a building purchase and a substantial amounts a purchased machinery. "I used Inquisition for making the howler but using your company is not gonna cut it. i want to make a company completely dedicated to the Ranger. Not only that but i don't want to be seen as leaching off of you."
Ayhia stood up and walked over to where Sanya sat and offered the stack to her. "So i drafted this to create my own... i have made all the purchase necessary but was hoping to make a contract for assistance for... well basically whats gonna be come my crown jewel of my company." Ayhia returned to the desk and picked up a set of plans. The ship detailed was quite unique and going to be very costly in both labor and materials, but with the plans was also a set of areas which would have the required resources. "Basically i have a of things designed and ready to go... and i want them to be under my own banner..." She offered the ship plans to Sanya as well.

Sanya moved to sit in the edge of the bed and looked up to Ayhia. “is everything okay?” she asked just before her fiancée began speaking, and so she listened watching the woman walk around the room. She’d pick up some paperwork. Sanya hummed acknowledging what the woman was saying know in it was leading to something. Once the papers was in her hand she began to look over them. Everything looked solid and well planned out. “well I’ll certainly say you seem ambitious about this.” Sanya said as she stood up. “firstly, what’s mine is yours. I trust you and well I do have a few questions.” The woman began to walk out the room beckoning Ayhia to follow.

“Firstly have you thought about costs of resources? Hiring is costly but people often look down upon companies that use droids heavily.” She’d lead Ayhia to the kitchen and flicked on the caff machine. “Anyway, what do you need me to do?” The machine began to pour the drink into the cup. The brown looking almost black liquid filled the cup in seconds as steam rose.

Ayhia sighed as Sanya motioned for her to follow, she picked up another set of paper work she had, on that was full of blueprints for a new type of walker. She followed and leaned up against a wall as Sanya asked what she needed. "Plain and simple... I need factory's and personnel..." She dropped that blueprint's on the table. "Their are people out there that risk their life for those whom cant defend themselves... Maybe its from pirates or slaver hell maybe its from the first order. Frankly i don't give a damn who it is they fight, I'm sick of seeing them using slug throwers that are as old as i am. I want them in the best damn armor i can give them, i want them using tech that makes everyone jealous. I want them to become a symbol of hope." Ayhia pulled her own ranger badge from her pocket and slammed it on the table. "I want people to know that the weak will have protectors."
Ayhia emotion were running rampant, she had seen so much pain when she was in the Republic, so much senseless death and war. Now she woke up to a galaxy divided, a galaxy at war... and caught in the middle was the common folk, the ones who didn't take a side. They were the real losers in the war, it didn't matter who won in the long run they suffered and it made her so very angry. Even if she had to single highhandedly fight every one of them she would.
"If we can't protect even one person why the hell do we fight... And thats why..." Ayhia pulled one last sheet from her pocket. "I drafted this..." She threw it on the table in front of Sanya. "I want the ORC to fund a task force to protect the people, or at least not get in the way." Ayhia took a breath then continued. "Their are these rangers out their protecting people and asking nothing in return save more supply's to do the same thing." They people stood up and did what needed to be done and I want them recognized for that." Ayhia closed her eyes and paused for a second. "I want to speak to the leaders in the ORC... and this company I'm making is for those rangers... but i need funds and resources." Ayhia was willing to do just about anything to get her goal accomplished.

Sanya turned to face her fiancée as she was mid way through talking. She didn’t need the force to tell her Ayhia was getting worked up, the expressions on her face and tones of her voice spoke clearly. “I see this means a lot to you.” Her voice was soft her movements fluent as some moved away from the counter. Sanya knew that even sometimes protecting just one life is hard. It’s even more a burden when it’s an entire nation. To take on the weight of the galaxy however would crush one person. “As long as you know what you’re getting into I’ll support you and I will do what I can to help.”

Sanya got closer to Ayhia and placed her hands on the woman’s sides gently spinning her around. Both hands would wrap around with one on the woman’s belly with fingers spread apart. Her head rested against Ayhia’s back facing towards the blueprints. “I’ll make you a deal. I’ll supply you a factory and the manpower along with a budget. You make me something, show me what you got.” Her hands would slip away from around Ayhia with a smile on her face.

“As for getting the leaders of orc together that’s a tricky one. From what I actually know they don’t really have a leader of sorts. I mean there are a few who many look up to and I can try to arrange a meet with them.” Sanya waited for Ayhia to turn back around as she wore a serious face but a smile too. “How’s the baby doing?” She asked with joy in her voice.

Ayhia frowned, she would have to settle for what Sanya could do, but she had a different priority. Ayhia held up her hand and trigger her comlink, "Hey Makom... We need a walker..." She sent a few details over text and simply got a grunt back in reply, chuckling she closed the channel and turned back to Sanya. "Ok so were on that... should be done in... give us about two days, we have been working on something already though its sloppy right now so." She allowed herself to be twirled and suppressed a gag... "yeah don't do that... and... uh... babies... and they are due in about a month or so." Honestly she had forgotten her exact due date, honestly she figured Sanya knew the exacts of everything. "honestly I'm ready to be done with this whole being pregnant thing..." Ayhia hated being unable to do anything, she felt so out of place in "normal" society.
She pecked Sanya on the forehead and separated, "So i wanted to talk to you about these in particular." Ayhia picked up one folder which held the blueprints to what she wanted to be the Crown jewel of Obsidian Polaris Systems. "These have been dubbed The Swords of the Stars... basically a giant sword with big engines strapped to the back." She was understating the ships mobility and speed, but if Sanya looked at the plans it would be clear. "These are designed to target large scale threats and have the armor to take just about everything thrown at them." Ayhia pulled out the first blueprint and set it on the table. "I have picked places to pull the resources for them we should be able to make to of them and have a good amount of materials left." Ayhia pulled the other one out and set it down next to the first. "What I'm proposing is for assistance in building them one will turned over to Inquisition Industries and the other one will go to the Rangers as planned." She would let Sanya look over the blueprints in detail before continuing, it would be clear that these "Swords of the Stars" were a great undertaking.

Sanya smiled as she thought about how soon the bundles of joys would be here. if anything it gave her a lot of excitement. "I'm sorry. I'll be more careful. Besides you dont have much longer now anyway." She said as Ayhia kissed her forehead. The woman began to speak drawing her attention to the blueprints she was showing. Sanya of course looked at them and actually fell in love with the concept. "Well I can put some resources with this. I really like the idea." She said as her eyes scanned over the details. "Honestly I'd be a little offended if you didn't let me help on this one. We can use the stations docs to build them. Zero grav makes it easier to build ships." Her voice displayed interest in the project.

It had been a while since she had dug her claws into something of a unique design. If anything she was starting to get bored designing and left the company's board to deal with it. Although now there was that spark once again. Ideas rushed through her head that would really help make this ship work. "I do have an idea for these ships. A long time ago i acquired some technology from a ship called the hyperspace marauder. Something from my time. The ship its self was nothing special but it did have a unique modifcation to it. The ship's onboard communications system could hijack other ship's computesr. This unique system put the ultimate gun to the heads of enemy vessels, I believe it can even shut down any part of a ship, even the life-support systems."

Ayhia raised a eyebrow at the, she had never been a fan of slicers but with how under armed the Swords were having something like that may be a boon, but first she would need more info. "Well i can see one of them having it, perhaps this one." Ayhia pointed to the second ship, it had not been given a primary offensive weapon, though the term weapon was used lightly. "The other i have designed a Metal Ionizing system for its blade, its not a nice weapon." Ayhia tapped the table and checked some of her notes. "I'm still concerned about materials honestly, with our facility's currently and what i believe OPS will be able to purchase... we will only be able to make two with a large amount of scraps." Ayhia was fishing, she had made a third blue print, but it didn't have anything but a basic frame so far, OPS would be using a entire asteroid belt to make these ships. "Your refining facility's are more advanced and... if you used them i believe we may be able to make a third." Ayhia was hoping for two of the Swords, she had a feeling that ship killers would be very important in the future.
She pulled out the last blue print and set it down, "This ship has no name or even designs beyond the basic frame... meaning we can design it from the ground up, the other two are mostly completed." Ayhia pushed the Blueprint in front of Sanya. "I'll need more info on that hijack system and we will need to make something for this one." Ayhia had a few ideas but wanted to see what Sanya could think of.

It felt somewhat strange talking business like this to her fiancée but also satisfying strangely. “I don’t know that much about the device other than it uses it’s communications to attack the ship disabling a specific system. From what I understand though is it can only do one system at a time. I hope to improve the system to something more of a current time that works more effectively. I can only assume that a decent jammer could prevent this.” She said unsure. “It has been sat in storage for a long time waiting for an opportunity to be reverse engineered.”

She began to look at the empty template. “So the empty one what you plan to do with this?” she asked thinking how to make it different from the other two. “Since the ships main feature is the blade maybe we could think of a way for this one to have it’s thrusters on an axis. My idea is using the underneath as the length of the blade to deal a wider area of damage rather that stabbing.” She said just tossing out a random idea. “Anyway materials are really not an issue. What’s not mined by my company is bought in bulk so really I can help lessen that problem. You will just need to tell me how much is going to be needed and what you need.”
