  • Combat Function: As they are not attached to a large military formation, Silouhette Squad can operate as they fit within the limits of their capabilities. One of their main functions is reconnaissance and sabotage, because of the prowler tank's stealth capabilities, silhouette can easily get behind enemy lines, spy on the units, and hide in plain sight all at once. They can raid enemy positions or take part in ambushes as armor support. The beam cannon mounted on the prowler means that ambush units can have heavy fire support on their side, taking out enemy positions, and then vanishing before being caught by enemy armor. Due to their versatility, they can be requested to assist whenever necessary and be quickly deployed into any combat zone thanks to their small size.
Strengths:
  • Now you see us, now you don't - Silhouette squad is a stealth unit, they cannot be detected with standard sensor equipment or seen with the naked eye. They implement cloaking and camouflage technology while using encrypted communications to prevent interception.
  • Tanks a lot - Since they're an armor squadron, Silhouette can take on light and medium armor easily as soon as they can get the jump on them. When camouflaged, they can set themselves up for a series of shots before retreating when necessary. They can also provide heavy fire support for ambush units thanks to their camouflage capabilities.
  • Jump 'em! - In addition, as a squadron of light tanks, Silhouette squad can work in unison to take on a heavy tank by outmaneuvering them and harassing them with their beam cannon, making them infuriating to deal with.
Weaknesses:
  • NO, STOP! THOSE WERE EXPENSIVE! - The SRV Prowler tank has experimental state of the art cloaking technology that took years and millions of credits to develop. On top of that, training the crew didn't cost chump change either. A prerequisite of joining Silhouette Squad required combat experience and a years worth of learning the ins and outs of the prowler's systems and doctrine. That also didn't include housing and feeding the squad during their training. Losing even one squad member could put the squad out of action for years.
  • What do you mean we have to walk? - Although the members of Silhouette Squad have some experience as infantry, they only possess weapons for self-defense and not infantry squad based tactics. They're more effective as tank drivers.
  • The front lines...? - Silhouette Squad should not be deployed as a frontline armored unit. They can be easily crushed by heavy armor and anti-tank weaponry without a second thought. Heavy walkers are a feared adversary by Silhouette and are to be avoided at all cost.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
After the SRV Prowler Tank was constructed and then field tested, the Galactic Alliance had been looking for a way to use these tanks effectively and efficiently. Command staff concluded that the tank could not be part of a frontline combat unit and so decided to contact the special forces branch of the GADF to see if they could use a tank in their arsenal. After much deliberation, spec force officers decided to apply the prowler tank as a support vehicle for spec force infantry squads. But before the doctrine could be implemented, the tanks needed to be outfitted with people to use them. Some of the field testers had already been put into the squad with others being brought in thanks to recommendation. Finding a commanding officer for the squad however proved difficult as many didn't want to bear the responsibility of managing a light assault craft that was essentially equal in price to a heavy walker. Maj. Ysennia Lee Ysennia Lee who had insight with the prowler's development and testing recommended, Lt. Pyotr Lakour Pyotr Lakour as CO but some in the brass had their own rising star, Lt. Sphen Csphenu. A chiss who was transferred from the Ascendancy to work on the Prowler project thanks to his technical prowess and leadership skills.

Despite Ysennia's vouch for her colleague as well as Pyotr's combat experience that exceeded Sphen's, Pytor chose to adhere to an agreement that whoever displayed themselves as the best candidate during training would be labeled CO of Task Force 612. A training period was necessary to accustom those who had no familiarity with the prowler's systems while also allowing tank crew and squad mates to get acquainted with each other. Both lieutenants were aware of their rivalry but both respected their leadership styles given their charisma and competency with military operations. But due to Pyotr's experience in GA operations, he turned out to be the best fit to lead Silhouette. While both officers displayed proficiency in using the tank as a reconnaissance and stealth craft, Pytor used aggressive offensive tactics and of hit-and-run during mock battles while Lt. Csphenu was more passive and simply used Silhouette as long-range fire support. Despite Pyotr's lack of experience with the prowler's systems, his years of combat experience as a recon specialist could be applied to prowler doctrine. After a year, Pyotr was promoted to captain and led Silhouette Squad. His missions have involved raiding pirate outposts and slaver convoys on the edge of GA space.
