SPECIAL FEATURES
- Automatically targets incoming munitions
STRENGTHS
- Point defence: The Firework targets incoming HEAT and other large solid projectiles with a beam, destroying, detonating, or damaging them before they can hit the vehicle they are fired at.
- All angles: The system the firework relies on allows it to intercept advanced guided and unguided munitions, including top attack missiles
WEAKNESSES
- Collateral damage: The detonation of munitions by the Firework can cause harm to nearby infantry
- Not an offensive weapon: Cannot be used to target enemies themselves
DESCRIPTION
Designed for use with medium and heavy armoured vehicles the Firework provides an answer to a question that hasn’t been answered in a cheap and effective way: what if armour isn’t enough? The Firework is based on the same technology that has been integrated into capital ship based point defence weapons for decades, but compacted down to a size where even medium sized AFVs can actively intercept and destroy incoming munitions. If the Firework detects a munition that is on a trajectory too close to the vehicle equipped with it the system will lock on and fire a burst at said munition, vaporizing it or doing enough damage to render it ineffective.
