Arrak-class Cruiser
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Designed by a group of Ithorian engineers, the cruiser is named after an avian from their homeplanet, the Arrak. The new Arrak-class Cruiser was designed for the Concord's recon fleet of Chaussidier but the ships are also available for sale on the market. Still, their expensive nature has ensured that only a limited number of them have been produced. In large, the purpose of the vessel is to serve as a versatile cruiser, capable of taking on a wide range of opponents whilst having a heavy emphasis on utility functions. Still, it is far from defenceless and can also fulfil a more pure combat role.
A particular weakness which the ship's design have been criticised for is the vulnerability to sabotage from the inside. The slave rigged vessel is, in many aspects, automated and reliant on technology to function. With this, sabotage can prove to be a potent weapon against it as a single person can achieve more damage than they would be capable of on a more manpower intensive ship. This has caused some to argue that one of the Arrak's strengths, the low crew requirements, is negated as increased security might be needed.
In battle, the ship has a wide array of weapons at its disposal - however, it does not have quite as many weapon positions as other ships of its type. This reflects the Arrak-class Cruiser's purpose in it is not supposed to be purely combat oriented. Still, it has a number of weapons which can be used in a multitude of different situations, either offensively or defensively. The ship's defence is nothing to sneer at as it is equipped with powerful shields and strong armour plates. While it has weakspots where the interior is more hollow, it also has more defences than just shielding and armour. The ship is through its technological systems also equipped to prevent attacks from hitting it at all.
Its versatility can be seen in its high internal modularity allowing Arrak-class Cruisers to specialise in different fields which can often be non-combat related. The versatility can also be seen in how it, in addition to a sizeable fighter fleet, also comes with a relatively large number of support craft in its large hangars. This allows it to simultaneously fulfil utility functions whilst supporting the fleet with fighters. The ACP and gravity well projector are other examples of how the Arrak may support its fleet.

- High-tech: Scanners, long-range comms, cyberwarfare suites, slave rigging. These are examples of some of the tools which are at the Arrak's disposal and allows for a smaller crew than other vessel's of its size along with innovative methods using state-of-the-art technology.
- Modular interior: Has a highly modular interior and can be used to transport large amounts of cargo or persons or even carry special equipment or advanced modules to house - for instance - high quality medical bays, secure conference chambres and production facilities.
- Slippery: Powerful shields, strong armour plates and a number of tools to ward of attacks makes for a strong defence which, when combined with the high speed ensures that the Arrak-class Cruisers are hard to destroy. This combined with its relatively good resistance to EMP and ion attacks and its tools to ward off aggressors makes it a slippery foe.
- Low armaments: The Arrak is not as heavily armed as the standard cruiser of its size and while it has a greater hangar capacity than average, the additional slots are devoted to support craft. While the Arrak is fully capable of going toe-to-toe with ships of significance, it will have some difficulties in destroying them.
- Hollow: With large spaces devoted to serve as hangar and others being possible to be opened up for storage or passengers, parts of the cruiser can be relatively hollow. This creates structural weakspots which can render the ship more vulnerable to high-impact kinetic attacks.
- Sabotage: Being slave-rigged and armed with advanced technology at large, the Arrak-class Cruiser is vulnerable to sabotage from within since it has the potential of affecting the entire ship.
