Appearance:
As a member of the Gurlanin species, it is more than possible for Arrk to take on any form he wishes, though, in the end, the creature reverts back to the one he finds most comfortable. This being a man tall in stature, with blonde hair, scars and marks apparent on his body. This was the face Arrk took, the face of the one who cared for the injured creature when he was but a pup. The body is large, well-built and all-around threatening. The blonde hair is buzzed close to Arrk’s scalp, a single part in the front. The most disconcerting part of his appearance are the unnatural orange eyes that adorn the skull. The body of his species which Arrk rarely uses appears to many as what they’d call a canine. Black fur adorns the lean and slender form, sharpened fangs protruding over his lower lip.
Strengths & Weaknesses:
- + Echolocation: As with others of the Gurlanin species, Arrk is capable of utilizing echolocation to give him a lay of the land or to pinpoint individuals.
- + Shapeshifting: The sheer range of objects or creatures the Gurlanin can transform into are one of the species greatest strengths. One that Arrk puts to use frequently.
- +Stealth: Gurlanin have the special ability to completely make themselves invisible to the thermal, or sonar and even hiding their signature in the force.
- - Armor: Shapeshifting with armor is quite frankly one of those things that just isn't possible as of yet, meaning that when out on a hunt Arrk either remains in his primary form or goes in without armor.
- - Pride: Arrk's pride is his main downfall. He is prone to overestimating his own abilities and doing the opposite to his foes.
- - Mentality: Taking the place of the original Arrk has begun to confuse the Gurlanin losing track of what are actually his own achievements, abilities, or memories and that of his one-time caretaker.
Arrk Priest was once a Gurlanin that went by the name of Ashrun, he was naught but a pup who spent his days wandering the wilds of Qiilura. As a youth, no more than ten years old Ashrun was ever curious, often sneaking away from his home and parents to see those who visited the planet, despite sentients having been evacuated from it millenia ago they had begun to return. There was homestead the pup would visit, one of an older gentleman by the name of Arrk, one who would tell Ashrun stories about not only a great hunt but also a group of people that were all a family, that knew unity, that were the greatest warriors rivaling that of even Sith and Jedi. One faithful day when Ashrun went to visit the man what he instead found was the homestead being surrounded by individuals come to hunt Arrk, to take him away.
Sneaking past them, Ashrun entered the Mandalorian’s home in an attempt to warn him, that’s when all hell broke loose. Bolts tore through the walls of the home a few even striking the youth. Everything began to fade the last thing Ashrun capable of remembering was the black armor being dawned, the red visor lighting as Arrk stepped out to face those who’d attacked his home. When Ashrun’s eyes next opened he was being tended to by Arrk the man treating the blaster wounds.
For the next few years, Aten would spend every day with Arrk, learning, hearing stories and even developing skills in combat, something his people never taught. Arrk was teaching Ashrun, training him to one day take his place. Eventually, the elderly man grew weak, laying on his bed. His final breaths wishing that he could just see another day, that he not be forgotten. Taking those words to heart Ashrun took on not only the appearance of Arrk, but also the name. He’d carry on the man's legacy, ensuring he was never forgotten. Abandoning his homeworld the new Arrk set out on a path to carve a greater path than that left by the original. One that would cement his name in history.
