Born in 791 ABY as the second child to Nithral Caranthir gan Ciaran Ithlinne and Aderyn Gealach Airgid, her elder sibling Oberon was Arthes' senior by approximately three hundred years so the two of them would never have a traditional sibling relationship. As the second-born, Aderyn and Nithral possessed a better idea on how to raise and nurture their second child whereas Oberon was coerced or encouraged to make certain decisions regarding their education and employment contrary to their own desires and this caused a level of bitter envy and jealousy in Oberon. Nithral was a former Gendarmerie commissioned officer, pathfinder and professor of quantum physics while her mother Aderyn worked as a physician within a local hospital's intensive care unit on Tir na Ellylon. Arthes struggled to foster a relationship with either of her parents as a child, Aderyn was far too overprotective and controlling over the girl and it caused Arthes to foster a resentment against her Mother feeling there was no way to escape her ever-watchful and overbearing gaze. Conversely Arthes required very little in the way of attention from her Father and enjoyed spending time with the somewhat aloof researcher and Nithral would take his daughter to a botanical garden dome within the Tir na Ellylon habitation sphere's interior for walks through the idyllic temperature climate.
Although they never became particularly close because Nithral was often absorbed by his work he loved Arthes no less than Aderyn but did not and could not provide the same level of attention as his wife on the account that Aderyn worked in private practice and had significantly reduced hours when compared to Nithral who worked in a public education institution. Aderyn was keen to get an adolescent Arthes a hobby and enrolled the youth into a prestigious dancing and acting company that was notable for providing talent to celebrities and theater productions, Aderyn wished to coerce Arthes into both dancing and acting but the latter hated being the centre of attention and angrily refused to participate in acting classes. Oberon, her elder brother had been a child desperate for the attentions of his parents mother especially and Aderyn felt like his character failings were somehow the fault of her poor parenting and inattentiveness not appreciating that Arthes had been born a very different child not requiring much affection from either parental figure and even at the earliest age demonstrated a remarkable amount of steadfast independence. Arthes always identified more with her Father and liked to listen to his stories about being an Officer with the Gendarmerie, also Nithral identified Arthes' ability to manipulate the Either at a young age and instructed the adolescent in its' important and the responsibility carried with it.
Arthes is strongly befriended by an adolescent boy named "Gwyn Liath Bryn" and his junior brother of two years "Midir" For two brothers to be so closely born was a remarkably uncommon thing among the Gwerin Doeth. Gwyn and Midir were friends with another shy young boy who came from an educated aristocratic family not dissimilar bearing the name of Nyeron and Arthes crushed steeply on his bashfulness and keen mind although she desperately concealed it for fear of social embarrassment and taunting, children were cruel and Gwerin Doeth children with their pride and focus on propriety and vanity doubly thus though Arthes' gaze would often linger on her crush and Midir quietly noted the behavior while Nyeron and most others remained utterly ignorant. About a year later on Arthes' fourteenth birthday the small budding group of friends were joined by a scrappy girl who was known as "Aynia" the thing that unived such a diverse selection of friends was their agreeableness, friendliness and ability to keep an open mind. Aynia tried to scrap and engage in rough play with Arthes and the boys regularly and to Arthes' credit the adolescent girl began fighting back against the vicious and determined Aynia who enjoyed showing off what she had learned from her older brothers who had joined the military. Jealous and wanting to actually win against Aynia rather than struggle Arthes approached Nithral her father and demanded to be permitted to take fighting classes and learn the same techniques and methods her brother had been learning.
Nithral stunned by his daughter's ambition and Aderyn was mortified by the prospect citing concern about her daughter's well-being though Arthes suspected Aderyn didn't believe women should be fighting. Aderyn came to a compromise with the obstinate Arthes who insisted that martial skill could lead to better discipline and fighting techniques were valuable as a means of protecting oneself, Arthes' warming enthusiasm helped Aderyn accept her daughter's decision and gave consent for Arthes to take lessons with her energetic and scrappy friend Aynia. This was the beginning of Arthes' long history of competing in martial fighting tournaments with Arthes being paired with Aynia for full-contact sparring, Aynia was a born natural at darostwng gelyn the two teenage girls were both wiry and strong for their age though the latter was more coordinated and trained than Arthes. Nithral occasionally attended Arthes' classes and observed his daughter's periods with muted silent pride it was in this period that Nithral began to realize and accept the conclusion Arthes and her mother would never have an extremely close relationship they were just too different, Arthes was obviously a calculating thinker while Aderyn was a perceptive feeler. In short, Arthes was without a doubt his child although he sadly wondered what kind of impact it would have on her interpersonal relationships in the years to come.
Aderyn doubled down on Arthes' dancing lessons although fortunately as she matured and developed her own tastes and took a liking to grungier styles of dancing, Aderyn was slightly perturbed by the "brutish" and "thuggish" choreography deeming it even somewhat vulgar. Though Arthes had stopped caring what her mother thought about her choices and their relationship began to take an antagonistic twist much to Aderyn's dismay and increasing anger. Arthes elected to spend more and more time at her friends' residences and notably with Nyeron, his parents were particularly fond of Arthes and her Father who would often take her to and from his residence there at Nyeron's family's mansion the group of friends would play and it was a place where Arthes felt she could be herself unencumbered by the responsibility of parental expectation.
Aged sixteen Arthes finally met her Elder brother of several hundred years at a family function after years of talking to him over the foldnet, Oberon who had made a point to stay as far away as possible from his "abusive" parents played the part of the dutiful and loyal son well. As the member of a senator's political staff Oberon was significantly more predisposed to insincere emotional displays when compared to Arthes, something he had learnt across three centuries of experience. Oberon was keenly interested in his sister and her life though it was a genuine care and concern he was quietly frustrated by the obvious reduction in Aderyn's controlling nature and the benefits it had for Arthes' sanity. Arthes atavistic ginger hair earned a great deal of unwanted attention at the family dinner much to the teenager's chagrin and wordless embarrassment with the women in her family in particular fawning over the young woman with a 'disgusting' level of maternity. Arthes realized in that moment being the centre of attention wasn't something she aspired towards unlike her good friend Aynia who relished in the opportunity to have all the eyes in any room on her, it wasn't that she didn't enjoy being appreciated but being under the scrutiny of several pairs of eyes was profoundly unsettling for Arthes.
At the evening's end Arthes departed with her parents and Oberon expressed his appreciation to have finally made acquaintance with his junior sister. During the journey home in the family's gravcar Nithral complimented his daughter for her resilience noting that she appeared to be uncomfortable at the family reunion. Arthes confirmed she disliked being prodded and asked invasive questions particularly by the older women within the family stating she felt embarassed by their ceaseless doting. Aderyn commented and flattered Arthes claiming she was special as many within the family beyond Nithral had never met another pathfinder additionally Aderyn reminded Arthes children were comparatively rare when compared to the adult population within their societies and that many of Arthes' aunts were too old to bare children and explained to Arthes their doting could be a way to deal with the fact they'll never be able to produce their own children with a husband naturally.
Coming towards the end of their schooling Aynia, Arthes, Gwyn, Midir, Nyeron and began discussing what they'd do once school concluded, Aynia, Gwyn and Midir all decided they'd join the Gendarmerie together. Nyeron and Arthes meanwhile were pressured by their family to attend universities given their lineages which entitled them to scholarships and entry into special courses. Arthes wasn't really given a choice by her Father and unlike Aderyn's guidance and discipline at this point she was receptive to Nithral's dictation even though he wouldn't lawfully enjoy those powers of guardianship for much longer given his firstborn daughter's fast approaching legal adulthood. When the weeks for their final school exams arrived, Arthes was anxious though resolute for the most part she'd been a successful pupil though it was obvious to her teachers at the selective public school that she'd long been troubled by something with most suspecting either domestic issues or pathfinder-related precognition being a source of apprehension.
Arthes completed all units of her final year of mandatory schooling and on her proud Father's recommendation and urging went on to study at the prestigious Viceroy Ithlinne University a member of the School of Marshals, a state-owned military university which formed the source of recruitment for most Gendarmarie Officers. Arthes received two partial scholarships one as a Pathfinder on the condition she take up a double course mode of study with one of those courses necessarily having to be a Pathfinder course. Arthes studies a double degree of Law and Neural Psychism. Though she'd hoped Nyeron and her would go to the same university for the sake of having at-least one friend there, Nyeron's father had other plans for his son and had him sent to another Canton so that he could study a course rarely offered.
On the side while attending her university studies Arthes having acquired sufficient skill and range as a dancing student worked as a part-time professional dancer for a different dance and theatre company from the one she was trained within as an adolescent in an attempt to put some distance between herself and smothering Mother. Arthes appeared in a number of prominent artists' holovids and even threatre plays one of which Oberon attended with a woman he was attempting to court at the time and did not recognize his junior sister. It wasn't until Oberon heard from Aderyn that Arthes had performed on the same evening he attended the same venue that he realized there were there simultaneously. Arthes went through the typical developmental milestones while attending Viceroy Ithlinne University, made some friends although never as close to her as Aynia, Gwyn, Midir or Nyeron though who Arthes kept in contact with throughout her seven years course.
Arthes graduated at the age of twenty-seven with what Humans would identify as a double bachelor degree in Legal sciences in security and Neural Psychism. It was at this point that Arthes was enrolled into the Gendarmerie's Officer School and over two years received extensive military and academic training through the prestigious University of Tir na Ellylon going on to complete a further course of study obtaining a double master degree in Legal sciences and Neural Psychism expanding her knowledge and skills considerably concluding these studies and commissioning in as a Second Lieutenant at twenty-nine years of age. From there Arthes returned home to her canton and was stationed with its' federal gendarmerie division, taking up a position as a shift commander much to the chagrin of some of the more experienced and older Gendarmeries who resented being led by a woman who they dismissed as a "child" by comparison although it would not take the commissioned officer long to prove her worth.
On a shift Arthes was sitting within the station doing paperwork and forwarded recommended charges for detainees to the Gendarmerie's prosecutors. It was long into the evening and not a few more hours would pass before the shift change. That's when Arthes' helmet sat on her desk beside a lukewarm coffee began talking and the nervous caller requested her by rank and name, explaining that there was a distraught man on a bridge threatening to leap from it down to the ice-covered lake below. Arthes calmly but briskly took a Gravcar and drove it to the scene of the critical incident communicating with her subordinates on the way ordering them to create a cordon on the bridge and cease all foot traffic across, Arthes contacted the Canton's top Gendarmerie negotiator and asked that they attend the scene as soon as possible.
Arriving on the bridge with her Gravcar Arthes wasted no time speaking with the first responding officers to collect information regarding the individual experiencing what appeared to be a mental health crisis. It satisfied Arthes to see the secure cordon she'd ordered be created was in place to keep away foot-traffic. A fully armored and helmeted Arthes escorted the negotiator to the distraught man and quickly the commissioned officer and negotiator discovered that the gentleman's wife had recently passed away and that he wished for death as life without her he claimed was meaningless. The negotiations were going well and the gentleman agreed to dismount from the bridge and alight safely into the custody of the Gendarmerie. Unfortunately as the man attempted to return to a safe position he clumsily lost his footing and fell clear from the bridge and was saved only when Arthes called on the Either and placed a disembodied formless hand around his body much to the Negotiator's elated surprise. The Gentleman was secured and taken to a hospital while a shocked and shaken Arthes quietly wept in her Gravcar, not just because the distraught man's life nearly ended but because in that moment she reached out and touched his form for a moment Arthes too experienced his depth-less despair.
Three years following the bridge critical incident Arthes was promoted to a full Lieutenant becoming the commander of an entire Gendarmerie station, though sometimes she regretted taking the officer track. Working through the years changed Arthes she steadily became less trusting and significantly more cautious after unknowingly being involved in an extramarital affair and then having a near-death experience on-duty after nearly being struck by a Gravbike which set Aderyn into a panic when she discovered the incident involved her firstborn daughter. After watching Paramedics work Arthes decided to take up the equivalent of a nursing degree part-time and completed it after fifteen years, doing it purely for the acquisition of more advanced skills rather than searching for a genuine change of employment. Aynia, Gwyn and Midir transferred to Arthes' Gendarmerie station after their period of tenure expired allowing them to request transfers. With the apperance of the Gwerin Doeth on the intergalactic scene Arthes has been rotated on and off peacekeeping assignments.

- Clinical training - Arthes spent years as a registered nurse and received a large amount of clinical training enabling her to provide a very high standard of medical care to a patient, she can prepare a patient for surgery, administer and prepare drugs in doses appropriate for a wide variety of patients including aliens and deliver those medications through a wide variety of different methods competently. Arthes can feasibly stabilize a critically injured individual and has the stomach to icily triage and treat individuals with horrific crush injuries or full-thickness burns, the only thing she'll demand is a full-face respirator to escape the smell of burnt flesh.
- Gwerin Doeth - Possesses an advanced physiology exhibits natural low-light vision, thickened myelin sheaths that dramatically reduce reaction time, redundant vital organs for increased athletic performance and resistance to biological and chemical hazards. Dense, durable, powerful muscles, tendons and ligaments connected to a resilient dense and skeletal system that produces a natural carbon-fibre like material for reinforcement.
- Caloric Intake - Stature and strength doesn't come without a cost and in the case of the Gwerin Doeth that is paid through calories, the consumption of food. As a trained combatant Arthes is expected to maintain a level of fitness and strength so she must actively consume in excess of 2,500 calories every day. Should Arthes find herself in a situation where food is scarce or denied she can quickly begin to weaken and become more susceptible to disease and fatigue.
- Character flaws - As a character Arthes possesses a number of character traits and flaws which impact her decision making capacity and others' perceptions of her, firstly she's proud to the point of arrogance and therefore liable to bite off more than she can chew when pride outweighs her calculating nature, being calculating as opposed to emotional brings her into conflict with individuals who tend towards emotional and making decisions off of feelings. She could rightly accused of being cold at times and isn't above engaging in manipulation although she is broadly not malicious.
- Low gravity - As a member of the Gwerin Doeth and having evolved therefore in a 1.4G environment Arthes cannot inhabit a 'low gravity' environment that might be more appropriate for Humans over a long period of time without suffering physiological consequences and therefore becoming weaker and more vulnerable. Arthes like most Gwerin Doeth can compensate or overcome for this somewhat through technology, although technology is not always available for one reason or another.
- Swimming - Arthes does not like swimming and with good reason because her body is so much denser when compared to a Human when immersed into a solution with a similar density to Water she struggles to keep buoyancy and to compound this issue she is afraid of dying from drowning which doesn't lend itself to a resistance to panicking. As a result despite being formally trained to Swim, Arthes is not fast or agile when swimming and is liable to struggle keeping positive buoyancy or "float".

Arthes Macha Gan Nithral Aderyn is a woman who has seen the best and worst in society and yet somehow has not allowed these experiences to completely rob or drain the nobility within her soul. Once Arthes was kind but one too many assaults on the Gendarmerie from drunken fools has hardened the woman somewhat and she now is deeply icy and calculating evaluating each situation presented before her with cold precision thinking rather than feeling as one would expect from an experienced combatant. Additionally, she is cautious which can sometimes be interpreted as indecisiveness although in truth Arthes thinks of herself as careful and methodical. Despite being hardened through her experiences Arthes still maintains a generous core from decades passed and is likely to be lenient in situations where she has discretion on how to handle somebody held within her custody she's not quick or inclined towards brutality and is righteous which can be perceived as a strength of a flaw depending on an observer's disposition. It should come without surprise that Arthes is quite forgiving and unlike many among her species is not likely to hold a grudge for some perceived slight and is even less likely to be witnessed taking personal revenge in retaliation for an insult.
As a combatant Arthes is vicious, cunning and resourceful accomplishing her tasks through the shrewd application of combat tactics and negotiation where appropriate, she's ambitious though does not desire to hold power for power's sake but rather to try and idealistically make a positive change to her community and world. Versatile and intuitive while she dislikes aliens Arthes is not blinded by her prejudices and is keenly eager to repurpose and make use of discarded weaponry and material when necessary regardless of its' origins and can do so effectively thanks to being able to read and write in Galactic Basic fluently. Arthes spurns religious and superstitious reverence and takes a practical attitudes towards the metaphysical and so learned how to harness her ability to manipulate the either at a secular institution. With a pragmatic calculating view of conflict Arthes is unconventional when necessary and imitative when imitation leads to greater efficiency, while she is loathe to employ means that are viewed as cruel, dishonest or dishonorable in a desperate situation Arthes is generally willing to employ whatever techniques or technology that will give the best chance at achieving her goals leading to some viewing her as unorthodox and even ruthless.
Harboring a strong disdain for immorality and amorality Arthes follows a personal philosophy focusing on the virtues of duty, valor and wisdom. Arthes is not apathetic to senseless violence and if she believes there is a significant chance of a negotiation being successful it is highly likely she will make the attempt she dislikes miscarriages of justice and the denial of procedural fairness even though in times of anger she might yearn for extrajudicial summary punishment. Arthes is deeply critical of religious faith thinking that it is outdated, useless and can be exploited as a tool for manipulating others to take a course of action they might not otherwise be inclined towards. Though Arthes is distrustful of aliens she sees the potential for righteousness in the likes of Humans but fears their equal capacity for destruction and domination, she is not above giving respect to aliens when they demonstrate virtue and strength and above all Arthes respects righteousness, self-sacrifice and tenacious ferocity.
