Artifical Intelegence? More like an Aspriring Imbecile

Flying the old Templar-class light freighter down to the surface of Raxus Prime, A junkyard planet filled with the dying screams of droids, scavengers, and much more. I dressed up in my battle armor known as "Carrick's Vigil" The hammer Dawnstar on my belt, as well as a single bladed lightsaber, and over my right shoulder a electrum plated double bladed lightsaber. There was a reason for everything. And I intended to keep it that way. Looking over to Connor as he was gearing up, I looked him over.

In the past we had worked together and fought together. But with the incident with Maya and the whole ordeal with her pregnancy, as well as her falling to the darkside and crossing bridges that shouldn't have been considered, I hadn't trusted him for a time. However, recently I have forgiven the man. We all make mistakes. And knowing that for a time he had been taken over by a Dark Taung. I had to hand him the credit. He was doing well for overcoming it.

I held my helmet in my hands as I stood there. Cloak already bunched up around my neck and hanging behind me in it'd dark glory. The gasses of this planet were dangerous to human lungs. Hence the armor. I had a breathing apparatus inside the helmet, to filter out the air. Making it possible for breathing without leaving with my stomach empty and blood pouring out of my eyes.

"You remember the mission right?"

If he did, or not, I continued to speak anyways.

"Get in, find out why there is a large build up of activity, and deal with the problem."

Recently over the course of a few weeks, there have been increased activity in one area of the Raxus prime. It seemed that all of these droids and beings were convening into one spot. I was asked to grab another person to go with me and find out what was wrong. I chose Connor because I could trust him in battle. However personal life was a different matter.

Holding the helmet in gloved hands, the final piece of his EV suit, Connor Harrison stopped and looked at Xander Carrick, looking overtly impressive and ready for battle in his own armour. Connor had opted for a lighter, more flexible EV suit that wasn’t as tough as Xander’s, but it did the job. He had an oxygen tank on his back, much like his diving suit, to feed in via the helmet to enable him to survive any alien atmosphere.

It would keep him warm and enable him to move fast if in conflict. The helmet had a small HUD of life readouts and his EV suit stats. The pair of them standing in the ship looked very different, but unified by the same goal.

”I got it, don’t worry.” He slipped the helmet on and tightened the fixings under his neck, but lifted the visor so he could still talk face-to-face.

He flashed a smile and took his utility belt to affix on his EV suit with the essential kit; the lightsaber. His com to Xander was synched to his helmet so communication wouldn’t be a problem. If anything was going to be a problem, it was the company, on a world with no other distractions and no-one else to rely on.

”Should be rather interesting, this little romp together.”

About time bridges were rebuilt.

Hearing that my comrade remembered the situation at hand, I nodded my head before putting on my own helm. The Cyclops eye glowing up a yellow color to signify that my hud was activating and the systems in the suit were functioning. Pulling the flaps down around my neck for the helmet to be sealed, as well as the straps to keep the helmet on, I nodded to Conner at his statement of this being a rather interesting "romp"

Pulling from my left arm up as I walked towards the ramp. The HDSS activated as my right hand pressed on the button to open the ramp. The toxic gasses rushing in to take over the clean oxygen within the ship. However by the time we got back, the ship would be filtered. Here on Raxus Prime, there was no place to land. So much junk that you never knew if it was stable enough for landing. Hence why it was still in the air. Hovering over a semi-flat hull of a broken ship. Flipped upside down after a good hundred years of being here. I looked at the HDSS and pointed ahead.

"We need to be heading north about a click or so. Just keep an eye out for anything that moves. Rather we jump at everything than get killed out here."

After hundreds or even thousands of years out here, there was likely to be a few droids who had gone haywire, or even species of beings that were scavenging and thought we were trying to take it from them. Turning off the HDSS, I smiled under the helm. Turning around to face Connor. I waved to him. Just before I let my self take a step backwards off of the ramp and down towards the hull. I did a flip in air and by using telekinesis to slow my decent greatly to land. Still with a rather loud bang from the weight of my body and the armor.

I tested the ground by stomping on it. I moved easily so Connor could see me if he looked down.

"Come on. We got to get moving before nightfall."

I didn't know if it would take a while or not. So I would rather finish before the night came over our heads.

Connor nodded back, signalling it was time to move. He pulled down the visor, and saw the flicker of the HUD come to life in the top right corner. He followed Xander to the edge and held onto the side of the ship as the murky planet below steadied as the ship hovered above the dangerous terrain.

Fastening his belt tighter, he nodded to Xander who gave the word and commenced the drop over the ramp with perfect grace and accuracy. Edging forward, he caught Xander’s suit illuminating below and waved back. He pushed a small blue button on his chest which activated the oxygen tank, already feeling the hiss of oxygen in the helmet.

With a small breath, Connor let go and skipped forward two steps and jumped off the ramp, feeling the rush around him, and then pushed out with his summoned Force energy to soften the landing which he cushioned with bending his knees, but momentarily lost balance on the uneven ground.

”Ooh. That was fun.”

Standing up, he looked up and signalled to their pilot and turned back to Xander, checking his belt was still fixed. It was. He pulled the hilt from his side and twirled it in his right hand.

”Lead on, good sir.”

I smiled as Connor followed suit of jumping off. He landed rather well but almost seemed to fall over. Catching himself he waved to the pilot. Seeing as it was my droid companion K, I spoke to her through the com system. Her own link was matched up with ours if we needed a quick getaway. The little map in the upper right hand corner showed three blue dots. One in the center for me. One a few feet in front of me. Connor. and one just behind him, Which was the ship.

"K, get out of here. Keep it cloaked, low speed, and close just in case."

My answer was the ship pulling away as the ramp closed up. Connor saying that I would lead on. Nodding my head, I pulled out my own lightsaber hilt. The single blade was left off for now. I turned around and shook my head as I walked off. Feeling the wind blow as the armorweave clothing upon my legs and unarmored arms. Walking northbound. I was half tempted for us to start jogging, but instead I decided to ask a question.

"What has happened in my absence from the Silver Jedi?"

I wanted to know really what happened while I was gone. With either Connor or the Silver Jedi as a whole. I didn't care. Just something to talk about considering we both knew of what happened. I wanted to try and move over this without too much pain.

But if there was any pain or not, was up to Connor.

Looking around at the copper-coloured atmosphere above as the ship moved off up and around, disappearing behind them, Connor took up the walk beside Xander amidst the kingdom of machinery, waste and junk. It was certainly the place where all droids went to die. Mental crunched under their boots and it was an eerie place devoid of life but full of death. As he spoke, Connor took a moment.

”Wow – where to start.”

There had been so much – highs and lows. He wanted Xander to know everything, but he hadn’t spoken to the man alone in god knows how long, it seemed forever. It actually was bittersweet how they both really clicked as a unit years before, but life seemed to get in the way.

”In a nutshell – I’ve been possessed by a Mandalorian spirit and faced down 2 Sith Lords, whicih was fun. I’m sure you’ve heard all about that little bump in the road. Um…Master Sinopi and Thurion are expecting a child…we’ve had a flurry of Padawans coming to the Order also recently, it seems the Republic is too clear cut for them.”

He chewed his lip as they crossed a narrow walkway above a large junk pile.

”Lots of expeditions also, getting out there to see what else lies beyond our sector. A few new relics discovered nothing too major really. If I’m being honest, it’s all been very quiet and I’ve spent more time off world on my own than I have amongst the others. Partly by choice, partly circumstance. What about you anyway my friend, what travels have you been on -”

A banging noise caught his attention coming from behind, and he stopped and turned his head half-way along the walkway.

”You hear that? Or am I getting jumpy.” The com crackled in his headset.

It seems like Connor went through a lot. Possessed by a Spirit, Fought the Sith, As well as putting stress on Coci and her marriage and child, More padawans showing up every day, and relics discovered. Seems like I did miss a lot. I smiled as we continued on walking. Making sure that everything was okay, I brought up my arm to check a scan from our ship of the surrounding areas only when I heard a bang from behind us. I spun around with my lightsaber in my hand. It was off, but it was ready. Connor asked if I heard it seeing as how he too was looking in the direction of the sound. I instantly turned to my Six, seeing a droid drop down less than a foot from me.

Distractions were a great way to ambush someone. I knew it just in time as my saber activated in the center of the droids chest. One that looked like a protocol droid. I pulled up on the saber cutting the droid in half from the chest up. And began to walk backwards towards Connor.

"If you haven't noticed, yes I did hear it."

I looked around us trying to observe around us to what may be happening, and well. It seemed as though within the surrounding area of junk, was a hive of droids that were standing guard. Most didn't carry weapons. If they did, they were pipes, broken parts, or even a vibro sword. Nothing too bad.

Without looking at Connor, I spoke.

"I think the time to run towards the objective would be now."

Seeing as how they were almost surrounding us. I was stupid to forget that in order for us to land we had to come out of cloaking. Meaning we lit up like a beacon. Almost as bad as shooting a flare up into the air and holding fallen comrades in our arms. As well, they were droids that were working together anyways because of the influx of power in the area. We came in ignorant of the fact. Just waltzing into the trap. And likely, the only way to survive now was to run past them and hope that they couldn't keep up.

Hope was a pretty strong word at the moment.

A clunk, an ignition of a blade and a shower of sparks all happened at the same time, and Connor shielded his eyes as Xander took down the droid; an assassin of some sort? His usual snappy remark raised a bemused look from Connor.

”Fair enough.”

Standing on the walkway and looking around the jungle of droid death, a thick haze above them, the two Jedi faced the dangers ahead. Xander started to break into a firm run; Connor followed.

”You take right, I’ll take left.”

Jumping up from the walk way onto the uneven terrain of makeshift junk, pipes, decomposed ships and droids and other fragments of technology that made up the most of the ground they traversed. Up above, a figure craned down to look at the two figures, and Connor didn’t hesitate in reaching up with his hand and pulling down hard with a Force wave; the droid simply lurched forward over the lip of the junk pile beside them and came crashing down hard next to them.

”Hope you know where you’re going Xander!”

Another jump and Force push took out another droid – they were there, but for no obvious purpose as they seemed to pose no threat to them both cutting fast across the surface in unison.

As we both started running, Connor gave out that I should take right. I smiled as we were both thinking straight. While he took left, I did my own part in taking right. Easily, I threw my lightsaber as I jumped into the air. Reaching over the top of a pile of junk. and rolling to lessen any blow that might come from landing, I reached out with my left I throw one droid into another. Loud crashing and looking to my left I could see Connor himself jump up. Hearing a rapid incoming alternating hum, I turned back to the right hand to see my lightsaber coming back for me by my will of the force.

Out streatching my right hand, I could feel the cylindrical hilt smack into the palm of my hand. It was then shut off and put onto my belt as I increased my running speed for a second to slam my armored shoulder into a droid's chest. Breaking it down into pieces. Out came the call to ask where I knew I was going. I smiled and just shook my head.

"Yeah, just follow the path of most resistance."

If the influx was from any kind of droid, if they were all meeting in one spot, then the most reasonable solution to knowing where to go, would be to find out where they were coming from, and go from there. I slowed down to look around the surroundings. Trying to find a hole in which they were coming from, or at least a direction. It was vital that I looked fast. And in that second, I smiled.

"Connor, Hundred meters up and to your left is a hole in the junk."

I didn't need to explain myself as I reached out my hand and used telekinesis to crunch down on a droid's entire body. Rendering it impossible to use again..... well maybe considering some people could use it. Either way, I ran into the direction of the junk cave which was just diagonal right off of Connor. I hoped that whatever was happening would be worth it in the end.

As the two Jedi moved, working with the terrain and the laws of physics (and a little help from their connection to the Force), Connor was pleased to feel that they were the ones in charge, leading the way and cutting down, pulling down or pushing down slow and mindless droids obviously trying to protect something…or someone.

Connor moved to avoid a pile of defunct droid remains that toppled over in the path ahead, in which Xander helped rebuff with a devastating move to incapacitate the droid responsible for uprooting the tower of junk to try and crush them.

Blue eyes glanced around from inside the HUD that Connor wore, and Xander broke through the com in his helmet, directing his gaze upwards and to the left. He signalled with his hand in a small salute, and used his momentum to jump down a tier, crouching on his knees and pushed outwards with an enhanced jump to reach the higher plateau.

Igniting his blue blade with a snap-hiss that cast a satisfying blue glow around the darkened junk pile around him, Connor spoke.

”Give me a minute...”

He held his hand to keep balance as he moved towards the large makeshift crater, and was just in time to bring a hard strike left, as if suddenly chopping down a tree. Only this time it was the sparking head of a droid that looked to be a strange protocol-droideka hybrid. A vicious looking creation that now collapsed as fast as it had appeared in front of him from the hole.

On the lip of the crater, Connor peered over past the sparking droid and saw nothing but a tunnel formed in the junk that led downwards, spiralling out into the surface. Turning to look down at Xander, he killed the blade.

”Quick as you can, please. Looks like we can go down, but down to where I don’t know.”

Running almost literally across the valley between the mountains of junk and rusting metal, I jumped over some of the droids that were half broken, or even just trying their best as roaming skeletons of their former processes. As I got closer, I activated my blade again. Deciding that now would be a time to keep it on as I rushed. Jumping up into the air as high as I could, I slammed my lightsaber home on the side of one of these mountains. Sliding down from gravity acting on my body, I pushed myself up and jumped twice more in such a fashion to get to the top where Connor stood.

Looking back down below to see the droids as they slowly lumbered to and fro. Trying to either find where we were, or because literally they could only walk in that direction. I shook my head as Connor's voice I had heard. Nodding to him, I breathed in. Already a little bit of sweat was around my neck and pits from the exertion. Looks like next time I will need to make sure to incorporate a cooling mechanism in my armor. Just in case something like this were to happen again.

"Well looks like we will have to find out."

I decided that if at the bottom there were a landing, I would rather not stab myself with the lightsaber. But we needed to travel without breaking our legs. Looking to Connor, I smiled under the helmet.

"Looks like we are jumping again."

I once more took a step to start falling. And by impaling my lightsaber into the side junk, I slowed down to a stop before turning off the lightsaber, allowing myself to fall for half a second, and turning it back on once more to slow my decent. I would rather not use too much energy with the force, nor just jump down. And this was the only thing I could think of at the moment. Once I came to a stop for a second time,

"Follow my lead. If you wish."
