- Like it's natural counterpart, this material is capable of generating anti-charges to literally every form of electromagnetism or even electronics themselves. It will absolutely destroy any kind of electronics if not properly shielded against, and can and will shut just about any kind of powered technology off just by being nearby.
- The Ionite you wanted, more plentiful and safer to use: This version of Ionite has been made not only lighter by playing around with its atomic structure, but more plentiful as well because of the fact that it's able to be made in mass quantities by the Particle Accelerator factory module. Add into this that because it's more plentiful, more research can be done to this form and you've got yourself a wonderful new material on your hands that can not only be used for military but civilian applications as well.
- Not as strong as the natural stuff: This form of Ionite isn't as potent as naturally occurring stuff by design. While natural Ionite can shut off electronics just by being near it in small quantities, you'd need a larger quantity of artificial Ionite to achieve the same results. And while this does make it much safer to handle and use, it does reduce its effectiveness by a small margin.
This material is one of the first of many that is to come from the brand new station, The Forge of Gods. The idea behind this material was that Ionite in its natural and raw form was very powerful and effective against disabling any and all kinds of electronics. So Dr. Ryan Alphonse in response to both the CIS's Ministry of Science, and Sergei's own request to create an artificial form of the stuff began to tackle the idea of how to create this material Artificially through the station's particle accelerator. What came from this project actually amazed the good Dr. In attempting to create this material he had actually accidentally solved two problems he foresaw coming to cause issues later down the line. As with the Artificial Isotope-5, this form of Ionite was less potent which made shielding the station from it much, much easier, and increased it's ability to be used in things other than military projects for weapons. To put it into perspective, naturally occuring Ionite has the ability to short out electronics by simply being near it, even when attempts are made to shield against it, however with artificial Ionite, DIRECT CONTACT IS REQUIRED FOR IT ACHIEVE THE SAME EFFECT, unless you use a significantly large quantity and make it react with something. Dr. Alphonse has begun study to try and create a better form of EMP/Ion shielding with this material since it naturally cancels out any kind of magnetic, or electronic burst, which would make its use in the medical field for protection key components on machinery or even civilian stations vital. Or even as a way to safely diffuse malfunctioning electronics or even bombs because of the materials ability to just sort of shut down any kind of electronics when applied correctly. As such Dr. Alphonse can't wait to provide this to the greater CIS to speed technological developments.
