Ascendency War College

Ascendency War College

The Ascendency War College. An Initiative born from recent operations conducted by the Sith Ascendency and the substance of after action reports following them. While the Ascendency boasted some of the strongest, wisest, and most powerfully Sith and Military minds in the Galaxy working together towards a common goal. From the reports it seems they bumped into each other more often than they supported each other. For the reason a panel had been put together to address these issues and offer ideas on how to potentially correct them. The Sith Lord Vengeance and an up and coming Navy Commander Norin Kellarov joined three others in today's instructional panel.

The panel would be followed by a simulated war game to test how well the attendees had absorbed the message. The simulation would also potentially bring to light other areas where improvement would be needed. As people filtered in Vengeance approached the podium and gently tapped a finger on the mic to get everyone's attention.

"Ladies and Gentlemen thank you for coming. If I could get every one to please take theirs seats we will begin shortly. I would like to ask that everyone please fill in from the front."

Vengeance smiled taking a step back and speaking to one of the other members of the panel as people took their seats.

Zhana smiled as she motioned towards a seat at the front, somewhere near Vengeance. This wasn't a full venue, but it wasn't supposed to be. After signing up to this, she understood that, at least temporarily, she would be taking orders from a "Lord." Not something she would do often, but a necessary evil. Sometimes political ideas even have to be cast aside for the betterment of an occupation, though to Zhana, this was her life. A captain within the navy was but a title. In her eyes, herself and those that sat with her, all stood to gain from this lecture and simulated action.

Crossing her legs, both hands on her lap and removing her cap, as she knew this was going to be a long one, and letting her blonde hair flow backwards. She then proceeded to take a hair bobble and begin to tie her hair into a ponytail. As much as having long hair appealed to the male audience, and possibly some females, it wasn't standard for anyone that was under her command to have it at such great length.

Although one thing in her mind did pop up. The professor is kind of hot.

I was not the complete Sith I wanted to be, yet. I knew of the Force. I knew of conflict. I knew how to wrangle in my emotions, and use them appropriately. I knew of war. And I knew of ground battles. I knew how to lead army boys and girls. But I was clueless when it came to the navy, or fleeting it's called. When the message appeared in my emails that one of the Circle Lords and a naval officer where conducting a session at the War College, I jumped at the opportunity to learn fleeting. It wouldn't be like the up and close killing of the enemy I cherished, but it was desirable to learn a new method of laying waste to our enemies; and to add to my knowledge in my quest to be the perfect Sith.

Arriving to the facility, I was impressed by the intricate manner in how it was laid out; and the numerous displays of pictures depicting former naval entanglements. The whole scene left a memorable impression on me, and I knew I made the correct decision to join this class. I noticed the others had begun to filter in, some engaged in conversation. For me, I was all business and rarely had time to converse with others; unless there was some advantageous gain to be had in doing so. And usually when I was called to discuss topics with another, as an Inquisitor, the conversation's end did not bode pleasant for my counterpart.

I found an empty seat in the front, centered directly in from of the podium. and grudgingly sat down. I was a creature of motion, rarely did I subject myself to a stationary position. The life I chose, and led, kept me on my feet and rather busy; some may call it hectic or even chaotic, but I called it freedom. Draping my right leg over my left, I sat in quiet waiting for the class to begin.

Dravis had never had the chance to go to a university.

To be completely honest, he had never been all that engaged in studies he had participated in. It wasn't that he was unintelligent, he was actually quite the opposite. He had never cared about what he was learning, so he didn't learn.

But once he had become Sith, all that changed.

The Bith had been thrust into a life of cutthroat deals, political games, and mad power-grabs, and he took to it like a fish to water. He had learned plenty in his years away from home, and was eager for more, despite his general mistrust of other Sith.

Hence, the College.

The Bith filed into the room alongside others, a simple black tunic clinging to his lithe frame. His dark eyes were brooding, and his folded mouth came together into a permanent pucker. He followed [member="Vengeance"]'s directions, sitting in a front seat a few chairs away from both [member="Captain Romodanovsky"] and [member="Satia the Cruel"]. He gave them both cursory looks, but nothing more.

He was here to learn, and he didn't plan on socializing with any Ascendancy forces more than necessary.

He sat, his movements planned and careful, simply waiting for the show to begin.

The cosmos was a frontier foreign to the Epicanthix, and that was the main motive behind his appearance at the War College today. Drios had not yet found any interest in the clashes in space, high above his head. He was more of a boots on the ground Sith, who preferred to get his hands dirty instead of commanding insubordinate gunmen and commanders to shoot down hulking chunks of durasteel, he would rather slay his foes with his own blade, and his own skills.

However today, he decided he wanted to mix things up a little. The acolyte seated himself near the front of the auditorium, at a safe distance from the always ravenous [member="Satia the Cruel"]. Without a word, his attention diverted instantly toward a Sith Lord he was not familiar with, [member="Vengeance"], however he had heard his name uttered before; a fierce warrior who was a veteran of the One Sith.

Impressive. It would be a pleasure to be his student for the day, figured the Epicanthix. However he was less sure of this Norin fella, an unheard of navy man teaching a Sith? He found it odd, but would, of course, keep his opinion to himself for the duration of the lecture. Perhaps his opinion could be changed.

Jorryn had rarely engaged in navy battles, and the few that she had been in put her in no real position of power. She had studied stratagem and ship specifics but had some trouble keeping track of the specifics, preventing her from ever attempting to put her knowledge into use. Fortunately a high ranking Sith Lord and the acting Naval Commander had decided to hold a simulation practice for just such an event, allowing the best and the brightest to gain practical experience in fields that they had previously been lacking in. It was an opportune moment that would allow Jorryn to put her knowledge into practical usage, even if she held some reservations about learning in a lecture style.

As she entered the room, Jorryn quickly examined the rest of the students that arrived at the class, noting those that had at least appeared like they were determined to learn how to fight better. She also noticed the amount of Non-Force Users that had sat alongside their Sith counterparts, imagining themselves to be equals here. Admittedly it had annoyed Jorryn that they would teach the two alongside each other, but she also acknowledged that if they couldn't wield the force they should at least be competent at something.

She made her way down the front isle, making her way to a seat that wasn't surrounded by Non-Force Users. She sat near a pale, massive woman that gave off a sinister aura, away from those that couldn't wield the force. Jorryn sat down and paid full attention to the two speakers as she crossed her legs and leaned back into the seat, listening to what they had to say.

As everyone settled into their seats Vengeance began his introductions.

"For those of you who don't know me I am Vengeance."

He paused briefly.

"Today we will be discussing an important topic as we inevitably move into an era of expansion. Specifically how we has a whole can support and use our individual strengths to benefit the Ascendency as a whole."

Taking another pause he scanned the group.

"Sith, Fleet Officers, and Ground Commanders we each have a very specific skill set that we excel at. When applied properly and in the proper order they create a synergy that gives us the best possible chance of achieving our goals. Today we will only be covering the aggressor role as the defender role involves and entire different set of circumstances."

Vengeance smiled.

"First up I would like to hand you over to Commander Norin Kellarov of the Ascendency Navy to present the space combat element of today's lecture."

Vengeance took a step back from the podium.

"Commander."
