Ascension of a Raven

Taeli stood within one of the chambers hidden deep within the Sith Temple, ones that were only used for one purpose. Summoning a familiar from above, she gave it a quick direction and flew off to send a message to her apprentice. It was time that Sophie fully joined the ranks of the Sith.

As the familiar landed near her apprentice, her master's voice would emanate and say, "Sophie, follow this familiar to me. I have something of importance to discuss with you."

Sitting in her chambers yet again Sophie was looking over Sebastian, her Devourer pup. He'd grown over the two years that they'd been together, while not an adult but a young adult beast of a creature that would obey her word. He sat at the edge of her bed, snoring as he slept after having had his grand meal for the day. Sophie was currently in her nightdress for the evening, given that it was almost dark.

The familiar, arrving through her window and landing near her, had perked both Sophie's and Sbeastian's attention. When it spoke Sophie's heart almost jumped. [member="Darth Arcanix"] needed to see her again, for what who could say, but whatever it was she knew it would be beneficial to her. She stood and walked to the close to change, knowing she'd need to be presentable for her master.

She realized her clothing was in wash at the moment, her usual outfits unvaliable. However there was one still unused after all this time. A white dress shirt and a long black skirt with a red ascot to wear. Perfect eneough for her. Even as she finished she'd realized her hair had grown to a more bouncing dark that it had been before, only minus the ponytail It seemed to reflect on her age.

Finally, feeling ready, Sophie made her way down to where her master wanted. The familiat guided her, and Sebastian who followed behind, to where she was. Once she could see her master she stood to rpesent herself and her new look.

Taeli smiled as her apprentice arrived, her new look suiting her just fine. Taeli herself was clad in a black synthsilk dress with a black hooded cape made of armorweave, the look she had been sporting amongst the Sith for quite some time now.

"Come before me and kneel, Sophie," she quietly, her voice echoing slightly in the pillared chamber. "You have proven, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that you have fully embraced the dark side of the Force and the Sith way. You have become far stronger than you were when we first met on Ossus, and you have indeed become a force to be feared and respected."

The dark side gathered at her fingertips as her apprentice moved to her.

Standing before her master and finally dropping to one knee, Sophie bowed her head and listned to her master's words. As she spoke she could feel the darkside growing all around. It was clearly from [member="Darth Arcanix"] but Sophie said or did nothing. If this was what she thought it wad for, she was more ready than ever. Sebastian only sat to the side like a loyal hound and waited to see what would happen.

"Thank you, Master." she said.

"I suspect you and I will ascend even higher within the Sith, working together and gaining further knowledge, but you cannot do that as just an acolyte," Taeli said quietly.

Placing her index finger upon her apprentice's brow, she allowed the dark side energies to race through her and into her apprentice, just as her master had done to Taeli a long time ago. The dark side energies would begin to manifest themselves as Sophie's Mark of Darkness, but they would appear at the place Sophie deemed her most valuable asset.

"The energies released into you will form your own Marks of Darkness," Taeli said, allowing the intricate symbols to appear around her eyes as she valued her mind as her greatest asset. "Those energies mark the end of your life as an apprentice, but mark the beginning of your life as a full Sith Knight. Allow these energies to rush through you, and you shall know your new name, the name that you shall carry forever amongst the Sith."

Feeling the darkside spill into her Sophie hissed at first. It was cold, like someone pouring ice water into her brain. Yet the more it flowed the more numb she felt, not to the point of collpasing but to where she knew it was rejuvinating her. It was hard to breath for a moment but eventually it began to set. As Sophie began to accept the darkside growing within her she panted and felt everything course through her like a sudden burst of energy had been awakened within.

Sophie felt as the powers flowed all the way through her body and eventually began to swell within her hand. The dark mark had appaered on her right wrist, the mark of the Sith taking shape before fully embedding itself into her skin like a brand. The darkside was a part of her know. She was truly a Sith Knight.

Looking up to [member="Darth Arcanix"] Sophie, having thought on her name long ago, had said "....Darth Raven."

"Rise Darth Raven," Taeli said, gesturing for her apprentice to get to her feet. "Your Marks of Darkness can disappear and reappear at your leisure, a simple thought will make them do so."

Turning Taeli took slow steps forward, contemplating.

"You now have far more freedoms amongst the Sith, including the ability to lead our forces into battle without an order from myself. I trust you will use your new freedoms and powers to continue your mission of becoming something great and powerful. You may now take an apprentice of your own, but do not forget that I still remain your master for now. Lessons will still continue to give you even greater powers than you even knew before. . ."

Turning to face her apprentice again, she continued softly.

"Darth Raven, how do you feel?"

Finally standing the newly risen Darth Raven had listned to her master tell of everything. She thought about all of it. Leading troops on her own accord. Being able to tutor more sith in the same arts her master had taught her. And still the two of them would be involved in lessons together, perhaps some that Sophie would be able to bring her new apprentice to if interested. She felt like a new life was ahead of her. A far better one in fact. The power of the darkside within her graps and the onld lessons of the Jedi washed away.

"I feel....like I've finally fulfilled my destiny." she answered, more confident in her tone now.

"Go forth then, Darth Raven, and demonstrate the power of the dark side to those who stand within your path to greatness," Taeli said somberly. Waiting another moment, she lowered her hood and smiled at Sophie.

"Now that the somber ceremony is complete, I must give you my congratulations, Sophie," she said brightly. "So, I think now that you've advanced to this point, you can just call me Taeli while we are in an informal setting or during a lesson. I think you've earned that right, Sophie."

With the show of gratitude given Sebastian, taking this as a cue of sorts, made his way over to the newly knighted Darth Ravden and nudged at her hand. She eached down and patted the huffing beast while [member="Darth Arcanix"] had told how she could be more formal with her. Hearing that Sophie said "Thank you, but I don't think I can. You've done so much for me. You brought me into the true light of power with the sith. You've taught me much. You've brought me so far. I don't think I can ever see you as anything than what you are...Master." she smirked.

"Very well then, but just know that option is now open to you, Sophie," Taeli said with a smile and a flick of her hand, the lights of the room came up. "If you feel like celebrating go right on ahead, I've got other business to take care of today, but enjoy yourself. You've certainly earned it, and you can use the down time as new lessons will be coming in the future as well as new responsibilities for you."

Walking towards the door, she said over her shoulder, "I think establishing our own power base amongst the Sith is necessary, don't you?"

Hearing the suggestion of a new power base Sophie, thinking on it, commented "I suppose. Though I don't know how the other knights and masters would react to it. I would think we would need some sort of apporval from them, yes?" Meanwhile Sebastian had put up a fuss, wanting attention, which made Sophie drop down and start petting and pawing at him to make him see she was still intent on playing with him later.
