Strengths: Customized- The Ashfallen assault rifle is a custom made slugthrower. It can switch out its sights and magazines in accordance with the situation. It has a bio lock on the trigger so that only John is able to use it.
Weaknesses: Nonstandard- The Ashfallen assault rifle is not a standardized weapon. This means that it can not replace damaged parts with any standard ones. Any repairs require the new part to be custom made on request. If the weapon ever gets damaged out in the field it is unusable for the rest of the engagement.
Description: Threats and dangers of all kinds plague the galaxy. Wars, raids, ritual sacrifices, and the fiery vengeance of scorned women. One never knows when any of these might suddenly erupt and seek your life. John decided he needed a way to protect himself, and wanted to do so with extreme prejudice. He crafted a customized assault rifle for this reason and made it a slug thrower to better deal with the lightsaber wielding space wizards that have started to overpopulate.
The Ashfallen is rather simple in its design, which maintains its effectiveness. The gun is mostly made out of durasteel with plastoid covering the outside of it to provide some protection to the metal from environmental effects. Electronic components were added to the grip and trigger so that a bio lock feature was in place. The bio lock makes it so that no one other than John can pull the trigger. If someone else wants to use the weapon then the lock would need to be forcefully reset and the genetic code of the new owner introduced to it.
The weapon was given a few features to allow for some minor customization out side of the bio lock. The first was that the rounds being fired are fed from underneath the barrel. This allows for a slightly larger magazine size and an extended version was also designed in case even more rounds were needed between reloads. This feature with the magazine though also means that the weapon can not use under barrel attachments. The last was a place for sights to be placed above the barrel. The sights can be adjusted to allow for laser sights, red dot sights, and various scopes. These features allow it some versatility for combat.
