Intent: Personal armour for Ashin Varanin.
Development Thread:
Manufacturer: Ashin Varanin
Model: N/A
Affiliation: Personal
Modularity: Backplate can fit most jetpacks/repulsorpacks, or an air tank.
Production: Unique
Material: Phrik. Rubberized boot soles.
Classification: Multipurpose
Weight: 10kg, not counting helmet and shield generator. Phrik is very light, and the original suit weighed 10kg also.
Quality: 10
Special Features:
The bracers/gauntlets contain the following:
Description: Ashin’s armour suffered structural damage during her rescue of Spencer Jacobs from the fortress world of Selvaris. Its simplicity, a mark of pride, had been called into question. Pride, after all, was less important than sticking it to the people who’d tortured her wife, and for that she needed to pull out all the stops. As a result, while the old armour had no electronics but a small comlink, the reforged armour has a more comprehensive loadout. Aesthetically, though Ashin has few preferences, the armour follows an ancient Je’daii pattern favoured by her wife.

Limitations include the following:
  • As with Ashin’s previous armour, the neck is potentially vulnerable. Protected only by a power armour liner, it is probably the weakest point in the armour’s coverage.
  • As with all plate armour, blunt force trauma is a thing. Enemies may not be able to pierce or deform Ashin’s armour, but they can certainly turn what’s inside to pulp.
  • Though phrik is light and Ashin has spent a long career in armour like this, wearing full-body plate has implications for mobility and flexibility, especially since -- apart from the crushgaunt servos -- the armour has no assisted-movement servos.
  • Though the armour can seal against vacuum, it carries no potentially volatile air supply. Even with breath control, then, it is only useful for relatively brief cold-shirt crossings, unless fitted with a vulnerable air tank.
  • The combat de-ionizer must be removed from the belt and used by hand.
