Eyrecae Alzari
Dark Star
Ashira’s Maul

Intent: To create a weapon which puts Eyrecae Alzari’s ferocious strength and bull-rushing mentality to good use. As she is a duellist who is there to fight tough opponents, a weapon made of Phrik will allow her to fight lightsabres without needing a new weapon each hour.
Development Thread: Siobhan assisted Moross here: http://starwarsrp.net/topic/26168-war-what-is-it-good-for-absolutely-nothing-invasion-of-the-silken-asteroids-crusade-horde/ In return she was provided with enough Phrik for a limited weapon sub and a unique armour sub. This is the weapon. Manufacturer: ARGH and Firemane
Model: Warhammer
Affiliation: Eyrecae Alzari/Firemane
Modularity: None
Production: Limited.
Material: Phrik shaft and head, leather binding on the handle.
Description: Ashira’s Maul (not to be confused with Ashira’s Mall, a popular shopping centre in Santaissa) was a weapon of myth which the creator used to hammer the eternal mountains into plains for her people.
Though a myth it was the ideal name for the weapon given to Eyrecae Alzari, the daughter of the real Ashira. Eyrecae, a Rakata experiment trapped in stasis for millennia, is an immensely strong, tough and ferocious woman. Not for her would a sword or even an axe do, she needed a hammer with which her incredible strength could wreak havoc.
The hammer itself is made of Phrik, obtained by Siobhan Kerrigan during her battles with the Horde in alliance with the Moross Crusade. Since Phrik was difficult to shape well, an agreement was made with HK-36 and his Abregado-Rae Guild of Hammers to make this hammer and several others too. These would serve as backups should the original be broken, and as weapons for anyone else crazy enough to use one at Firemane.
The main thing about the hammer was its weight. Whilst a hammer of this size made of durasteel would weigh only 5kg, the density of Phrik has almost doubled this. Only someone like Eyrecae with her enhanced strength, or someone using the Force to aid their skills, has much chance of using this for very long without tiring.
The key advantage of a hammer over other weapons is that it does not need to penetrate to cause damage. A single blow of this hammer can break bones and cause massive trauma, armour or not. Only those with sufficiently padded or reinforced armour would escape injury from a direct hit.
The key disadvantage of this weapon, even in Eyrecae’s hands, is that it is slow. An agile opponent can duck and dodge the thunderbolt as it hurtles by, and can even use this to their advantage with a near weightless lightsabre.
Another downside of this weapon is that despite her strength, Eyrecae cannot use this to demolish blast doors or walls. Vehicles, masonry and shields are largely protected from impacts.
The hammer also contains a spike on the top and back for focussed penetration, and can parry blows on the shaft as well as the head.
Classification: Warhammer
Size: Mainly two handed, though can be used with one inaccurately and with reduced force.
Length: 110cm
Weight: 9kg
Other Features: Cannot be cut with a lightsabre. Extremely durable.
