O R I G I N S
The First Two - Three Years
Aska was born on the planet Ryloth to Mer and Fri Vaak, being their second born child and the younger sister to Juniper, who were simple farmers. They were not rich but not poor either, mostly the products they grew offered them both food and commerce. Just like every newborn, she slept, cried, got changed, and got fed. Aska started walking at a young age, just a few months shy of her second birthday, mainly she was trying to chase her older sister around.
A few months after she turned two, Aska started to show signs she was different. Her parents and the others in her village knew what was making her different, the Force. Aska could do things other kids her age could not, though it wasn't anything super extraordinary, but it stood out amongst the crowd. She took an interest in helping her parents in the garden or tending around the farm. Like her older sister, she found a passion with flowers and plants. Together they would create wreaths or put on mock shows around the village showcasing their flora constructs.
After Aska turned three, it was decided by her parents they would contact the Jedi Order on Coruscant, because they believed their young girl was destined for more than being a farmer or flower girl. A week later two Jedi showed up and after checking her midichlorian count and conducting a few tests, it was ruled by the two Jedi she was indeed Force sensitive; thus, they brought the young Twi'lek back to the Jedi with them.
The Jedi Temple (Years 3 - 11)
Aska was placed into a group of other Younglings, six in total, her age and began her training under two different Jedi instructors. One instructor taught the class the basics of the Force, History of the Jedi Order, the History of the Galaxy, and how to use the Force. The other instructor taught them, using training blades, lightsaber combat and usage, the various forms, and the basic understanding of lightsaber construct.
Throughout the eight years, Aska struggled slightly to grasp the lightsaber but in fact found a form, Ataru, that suited her abilities. The Jedi lightsaber teacher instructed the young Twi'lek that the form she uses can drain her quickly, both physically and her Force energy, and to use it efficiently to disarm or defeat her opponents, don't dance around. It was the Force, however, that Aska excelled at. It was apparent as she aged that her intelligence was far superior to most, and as such she was able to learn the Force easier not only of those in her class, but the other age classes as well. Through this, her connection to the Force grew strong.
As she progressed through the Force, it was the abilities associated with the Force, illusion and mental subjects, that called to her. Knowing her pursuits now, she made strives to solidify her strength and knowledge of these two aspects, which opened up a set of Force abilities she focuses on in her training.
Padawan (Year 11 - Current)
Everyday Aska practiced using the Force and with her newly acquired lightsaber, though the latter was not as impressive as the one she would be allowed to construct later. She found time to balance her life between her training and the free time affronted her. Recalling her earlier childhood memories with her older sister, Aska began tending the garden helping the Temple gardeners in their duties, as well as spend time in the Jedi libraries soaking up knowledge. She was interested in history and as such, befriend the Temple Lore Keeper. The two would talk for hours, and Aska was like a sponge.
Aska knew her time was coming that she would be chosen by a Jedi Knight to be their official Padawan, and her destiny would then be revealed. Until then, she was content with her lot in life.
