Asmod Shol
Character
A news report has been circulating the last few days on Coruscant, though the details remain more or less obscured by the rumor mill surrounding these recent events.
• Body: Slender
• Height: 6'1" ft. // 1.85 m.
• Weight: 190 lbs. // 86.18 kg.
• Hair Color: Black
• Eye Color: Gray-green
• Complexion: Warm
• Physiognomy: Young
• Features:
○ Cybernetics:
◘ A talented engineer, especially at such a young age, Asmod came into relative local renown, and infamy, when he published a scathing letter, detailing his harsh critique of the 'obstructive' ethics employed in the pursuit of furthering cybernetic augments, and outlining suggestions to bypass this standard, all in hopes of soliciting funds to further his own pursuit in the craft.
◙ Such an arrogant disregard for humanitarian concern and an apparent aggressive outlook earned him a premature blacklist from the majority of these circles, both private and corporate, and suspended both his education, and apprenticeship under one master cybernetics engineer.
◘ Thus, his works are often subjected to production through criminal underworlds, largely tested on himself; funds are garnered by sponsoring criminal journeymen and planetary warlords, who often purchase his designs on completion. His support often finds itself entrenched with rebels, pirates, and outlaws; and as such, he has a large bounty on his head, as a Black Market augment dealer.
◙ Due to his own stratagem of improvement, his cybernetics are easily identified for their unconventional and prototypical appearance: having been self-taught after gaining the larger portion of the basics of their development, and being henceforth built in the awkward position of surgically implementing them upon his own body, they naturally have developed a unique composition.
◘ Not all of the cybernetics he has developed have been published, however; in fact, this is another source of the many bounties he currently has placed on his head: oftentimes, he'll siphon sponsored funds to side projects for his own personal use. While sometimes this effort, when discovered, is waved by either the generosity of his host, or Asmod's own silver tongue, not all take kindly to the apparent theft.
◙ Thus, while popular among small outlaw parties for the self-sufficiency of their design (they are built with the intent of being cared for by a single individual, after all), Asmod has somewhat of a mixed reputation in the Underworld as well; the pressure of danger from both circles, the more neutral public and the repulsive, criminal underbellies, has placed greater strain on Shol to enhance his body further to meet self-defense needs.
◙ His body is a labyrinth of prototype cybernetics, mostly focused on augmenting the musculature through cybernetics and neural structure via implants: see Inventory. His abrasive disregard to his own well-being is well demonstrated in the repeated, self-inflicted amputation, with the full intent of the design to replace muscle structure with cybernetics; most of the time, these surgical procedures are done by himself, with the assistance of donated medical droids.
○ Piercings:
◘ N/A
◙ Asmod abhors piercings, ironically enough; often, he disregards it as a cultural phenomenon, and often treats it as such: a fad. Even the point of cultural insensitivity, where such attire could be worn for religious, ceremonial, or social purposes -- if it doesn't make you stronger, than it's just pointless self-mutilation in his eyes.

"The smoke is still settling after an already brutal street brawl between rival gangs escalated into an armed confrontation with law enforcement in the Works this morning; the battle ultimately resulted in the death of two officers, three of the suspects, and seven civilians who were caught in the crossfire, with untold injured and an unknown amount in critical condition. Captured footage of the event is barely visible, but is registered by the sounds of blaster fire, shouts, and an inferno of swirling smoke and burning fire. Damage is estimated to be in in the hundreds of thousands of credits. This marks a further rise in the trend of black market cybernetics being distributed through Coruscant's underground, which has only further empowered criminals to greater extremes to wrestle control of the Underworld through force; the body count has only continued to rise with the latest attack, for both officers and cartels operating out of the reach of the law.
"Already several politicians are pledging to to crack down on organized distribution of illegal, black market augments, and many more in office have begun publicly decrying the rise in militarized criminal organizations operating in the city. Senator S'theeth Llingus has already begun pushing for increased militarized presence within the conflicted districts, and the momentum among terrified civilians has begun to compel other representatives to put increasing pressure on local and planetary law enforcement to eliminate these threats before more innocent lives are taken due to the increasingly larger-scale battles taking place between these underground warlords. This conflict has begun the center point for planetary attention over the last few days, and should things continue to worsen, we could find ourselves at the center of the Galactic stage; already, planetary governments in the core are considering harsher laws reserved for the cybernetically-enhanced, to prevent a spread of this horrible epidemic of crime.
"The bounty on the suspected arms dealer, who operated under the alias 'Sage,' has remained unclaimed; however, reports provided by informants operating on the case, now operating as a public manhunt, that there have been multiple casualties on the case. Suspect is considered armed and dangerous, and should be approached with caution by bounty hunters; he's described as a tall, white male human, possibly in his mid-twenties; further details display him with a slender physique, black hair, green eyes, and multitudes of cybernetics cascading his body. He is considered militarized, and is likely being protected by other criminal enterprises, considered to be extremely hostile and violent. Furthermore, according to scattered reports, he is a potential Force-wielder; whether or not he is an operative of the Sith or rogue Jedi is so far unknown, but approaching alone is not advised. Contradicting reports have already led to an alarming rumor mill about the figure, and Commissioner Alam'ar spoke on this subject at a press conference earlier today:
'With all that's happened, it's important to the investigation and bounty hunters pursuing the target that gossip on the subject is kept to a minimum; false information being thrown eagerly into the confusion will only prolong efforts to apprehend the criminal and take control of the situation.'
"However, with that said, we're still seeing little progress in manhunt and already many people, political figures and citizens alike, have begun to question the efficiency of both the investigation and the people in command. Already, man civilians are requesting their representatives to roll-back anti-gun legislation for their districts, with the full and present intent of self-defense in the event that these skirmishes ever extend beyond the border of these criminal territories. Many have begun to even look past the manhunt, for its inefficiency, and pursue other alternatives of legislation, EMP checkpoints, and, in more extreme cases, the outright ban of augmented individuals from Coruscant space. There are also reports of skirmishes between locals and foreign bounty hunters, arriving to capitalize on the widely-publicized manhunt. As of now, Sage is still considered at large, a high priority suspect on the Coruscant's federal watchlist, and considered 'armed and extremely dangerous;' and after this morning's attack, the bounty has now been raised further to an astonishing thirty-thousand credits. Many expect this to rise quickly, as the situation is becoming rapidly politicized and a matter of great interest to the Core public, and to many, it seems almost a certainty that things will continue to escalate -- not only the battles currently being waged, but the tensions between all parties involved, as well."
