Aspects of the force I am come to conclude and force sickness

This post is an attempt to explain force sickness and how the force causes it.

To start, force sickness can come from having either too much dark, too much light, or both. This is more common in those whom are neutral in the force and to those whom attach their very life to it.

As we know:

Dark is considered evil and nasty

Light is considered good and pretty (spare me)

We know that the dark force energy pulls and tempts those whom are using the force. We know what happens to a Sith or other dark force user when they rely too much on it (yuck).

The way I see it, if the force is the same, with only slightly different uses, the light would pull as well.

Therefore, if you feel the pulls and resist for too long, you have the possibility of getting sick from feeling this pull. Your own energy is strained and cannot keep up the fight forever.

The force is energy, matter made by motion, the force is always in motion. What moves it though?

My answer: life itself. Life can be evil or good, depending on the person or being.

Another thing I see is that the dark side is not actually evil, rather a shadow of it is. Allow me to explain before you hate me:

When the Jedi and Sith were together, there was no Jedi or Sith, just force users. However, when those whom wanted to use the dark side got greedy, they created a part of the force that is greedy and thrives on feeding off of the users energy. This is not the true dark side, the true dark side actually uses the energy with caution, making it possible to stay "good."

The same thing happened with the light side energy, the ones whom wanted to just use that created a light side energy that can give the user a false sense of security and make them feel higher than others.

Now, I am not saying the Jedi are evil tyrants here, this is pure thought and observation. There is equal pulling from the "light" and "dark" therefore causing the conflict between force users to rise and fall.

The true light and dark work together within the force user for the best. You get sick from using both cause you are fighting the pulls of both the "tainted light" and the "tainted dark." You can train in one or the other and not get sick, but you may have a hard time surviving in the opposite extreme. (This can explain why the Jedi cannot see far into the dark side)

Sorry if it is choppy, I have been trying to figure out how to explain this for years now, Let me know your thoughts in the comments. Please don't post just to say you hate this.

The light side and the darkside are not as "simple" as "icky and evil" and "pretty and good." If we are going to be honest here, there is an even better way to view it.

Keep in mind the Force is not based on western thinking. This dynamic takes a western view of good and evil. The Force is based on eastern thinking with Oneness, Chi, etc. The New Age sorts have really brought this to the forefront of our minds, so its hard to not think "New Age" these days when you hear that kinda stuff. Even this taints a view of the Force.

A better view would be Kabbalistic. Kabbalah originates in the middle east and sees good and evil as two sides of the same coin. You have the Tree of Light and the Tree of Dark. For every virtue you have vice (Love's virtue is Lust's vice--Compassion's virtue is Hatred, and so on). Kabbalah even holds that virtues give way to vices sometimes when they are needed (such as when two people love each other so much they do the fade to black). This view doesn't hold the tree of Light and th tree of Dark as good or evil, but one as creating and the other as corrupting.

Another good way to look at it is more through Hinduism. Hinduism holds a pantheon, but two of their main gods are Shiva and Vishnu. Shiva is the destroyer of worlds, Vishnu is the preserver. They are not at war with each other, they work in concert. One is not good and one is not bad, they are both needed. They are actually best buddies if my recollection of Hinduism is correct. Both are essential to the universe in Hinduism and keep it in balance. After all, a storm rolls through, Shiva uses it to level the forest. Then Vishu comes by and makes a new one even prettier than before. Then Shiva levels that forest with a stronger storm. Its not so much a war as it is a dance.

Then if all that fails, think Ying-Yang. The two are in perfect balance, always swirling and spinning. The Ying-Yang represents the feminine and the masculine in constant harmony with varying degrees within it. Then beyond that it also represents the night and dark, malevolence and benevolence. The Chinese recognized that you needed both light and dark. Without night you could not sleep, without daytime crops could not grow. Again, not a war, but two sides of existence that are equally needed for existence to work.

So is it really light versus dark and good overcoming evil? Or is it good and evil working in concert as co-partners in the universe? I think that we would do wise to follow the words of Obi Wan in episode 6, "You will find that many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view."

Cheers.

I personally don't see the force as "evil or good." I was attempting to explain it in a way people understood.

To me, in star wars, the light and dark, or what is seen as such, works together.
