- Shield Generator unit that can be attached to any weapon that has an available slot for an underbarrel, or can be used for squad weapons such as Rotary Cannons, or Blaster Cannons.
- Ray Shielding
- Particle Shielding
- Ionic Shielding
- Got Protection?: For the average soldier, weapons are a necessity in battle. Many times, relying heavily upon cover, personal energy shielding, or the like. Instead, this attachment allows for the soldier to be able to remove an attachment for a grenade launcher, shotgun, or flamethrower underbarrel attachment, in place of a shield. Allowing one to peek out from behind cover, take aim on target, and fire. Defending against most common forms of weaponry to a fair degree.
- Adjustable for the Weapon: When using this attachment, it can be attached to weapons such as rotary cannons, blaster, cannons, or even turret emplacements. Letting the weapon better defend those who are requiring a better chance to aim at their target, lay down suppression fire, or defend a location.
- You Get One: One cannot equip this with a Shotgun, grenade launcher, or other underbarrel attachment to the weapon. It acts as an underbarrel, thus takes up a spot on some modular weapons that could otherwise be used with more destructive force, in place of a shield.
- Kite Them!: Flanking the user of one of these shields is one of the best ways to get around it. As it is a directional shield directly attached to the weapon. Meaning it can only protect against fire that is directly aimed at the user of the weapon it is attached to. Ordinance such as grenades can be defended against, but only if its in front of the user. Should it slide behind them, or be an omni-directional attack such as an EMP, the shield is useless.
- Not Expecting the Unexpected: While the shield can defend against most forms of conventional weaponry, it cannot defend against weapons such as Sonic, Disruptors, or even EMPS due to their Omni-directional usage. And of course, there are many other kinds of weapons that are more exotic that could very likely get past this shield if it is meant as a shield breaker weapon.
- Duration: The Shielding unit can only last so long. Typically only two minutes at a time with a two minute recharge. However, taking damage to the shield can dramatically reduce the amount of time the shield is up, and also increase the amount of down time required to charge the shield.
Imagine being on the battlefield. Laying low against blaster fire being hailing down upon your position. Barely surviving with your back against a barricade. The only way you could maybe get a shot off, is to flank. That is, if you can even stand up to start running before they gun you down. Maybe its to just throw the barrel over the ledge and blind fire. Well unless you are extremely lucky, your shots are worthless. Your Grenade launcher isn't doing you any good, and your buddies shotgun attachment is piss-poor at this range. Instead, have a shield.
An underbarrel attachment aimed to allow you to peek over baracades, use as a charging force, or to provide cover to yourself while firing from behind a barricade. Small enough to fit under the barrel of a rifle, shotgun, or even a Rotary Cannon to allow some protection when having to enter a dangerous situation. Shields defending against most conventional forms of weaponry that are held by other combatants upon the field. It can also allow one who is on in the heat of battle, across lines, take up a position and use the shield to prevent bolts or rounds from injuring one while firing. Allowing a more precise aim for longer range combat zones.
The Shield can also be attached to shotguns or the like. Providing a better chance for one to get in close, and safely enter range of the shotguns effective range.
