Assembling a pack

Vulpesen sighed and stretched out his muscles as he stepped off the Vixen. Even Ace, with plenty of room on the ship due to his minute stature, had leapt from his shoulder to stretch his muscles on the ground. Around him, he watched as several other small ships unloaded their passengers, fellow members of the Dark Hand. He had requested that this be quiet, particularly as to avoid earning too much attention from the Mandalorians. He still wasn't sure what they thought of his business on this planet, or even if they knew about his regular trips. So good to be home. Vulpesen smiled as Ace's voice popped into his head. In truth, it had been quite some time since his constant companion had been back home.

"I hope everyone's ready. If you've got the force, grab a blaster, if you're lucky, you might have access to the force during half the time we're out here. And no telling when something out here will try to kill ya. The plants, the vornskr, honestly, this place just hates visitors in general." Any mission on Myrkr might have sounded like suicide. But after so many times on its surface, Vulpesen knew certain trails like the palm of his hand. Every branch, vine, and growl was familiar to him. For Ace, the entire area was his home. It was here that he was born, within the safety of the Ashlan conclave, the place where they were now heading

Vulpesen had visited a few times with company. Alexandra Cinthra, Neshoba Nodi. It was his way of showing kinship and trust. And now, with the Dark Hand, the conclave would see a sudden spike in its sentient bonds. They lived for them, and they proved useful for those they bonded with. Each Ashlan wolf was connected to a telepathic net, something that so far seemed impossible to attune to by any other means. Perfect for com systems... if you didn't mind the comms talking back.

wouldnt be the first time the entire planet wanted to kill me for simply arriving

She commented as she checked her westars lookimg iver the black metal as she nodded to herself with a smile and adjusted her sword sheath. Her reason for coming was to gain a companion these...wolves...sentient and a complex being to the point they could speak mentally to each other and if bonded to a humanoid them. She just wondered how the process went, something she knew would require patience, she got off the dropship and looked around the area...jungles she did not like them at all...to many bad memories of these damned placss, she placed a hand on her leg and took a breath before looking forward...might as well conquer that fear.

its a pleasure to finally meet your aquaintemce by the way, i was unsure when i received the invitation

Myrkr being within the sphere of the Manalorians, Ra did not need to attempt to move about secretly. She came with the small group of ships openly and landed her small personal freighter with them. It was a ship that rarely saw flight these days and she could easily get an upgrade or replacement, but this was her first ship. After her captain died, it had passed to her and she kept it up as best she could.

It took her only a few more minutes to shut her ship down, lock it up and join Vulps and her friend Stardust. Giving each of them a smile, she hoped they would get along. Star had gotten along with everybody Ra had seen her with, so if they didn't, she would be really surprised.

"Nice to see the two of you."

Walking over to join them, Ra was watchful of the area around them.

Nemo disembarked his own ship, a small transport vessel, and approached the trio with a blaster rifle slung across his back. He knew very little about this planet, or the reason they were there. He elected to leave his wolfguard pelt on his ship. A decision he was now happy he made. The wolves in the area might have taken exception to him. Nemo felt strange on this planet but continued forward, vigilant as ever.

"Nemo reporting."

Nemo was eager (as eager as he could be) to prove himself.

With the group gathered, Vulpesen nodded to them and started down the path. "Glad to see y'all. Keep on guard ladies and gentlemen. The ashlans do have a way of guarding this path, but they can only do so much." Stepping further into the trees, Vulpesen would feel the familiar yet sickening feeling of an Ysalimiri bubble. As if a switch had been flicked in his mind, he suddenly found himself without use of the force. For many force users it might have felt like blindness. But to him, it was semi-normal. Uncomfortable yes, but it was far from his first time.

Decker Willo had come in his own fighter to see a bunch of ships had arrived already. He had to get used to all this ground-based work if he were going to survive in this galaxy, now that he had come away from the GA. He landed the X-Wing down, and out he hopped, straying over to the forming group. He gave @Ra'a'mah a two-finger salute, remembering her from his rescue. "Decker, boots on the ground...so what am I doing here?" he asked. Then he heard ashlan, and guarding...what was an ashlan? He had no idea. He was bout to find out.

shouldnt be to hard if we watch each others backs

With that she followed, entering that bubble as she immediately regretted it. She swallowed her lunch and kept moving forward hoping her senses were still just as good as they were several years ago

those lizards....i hate them yet i feel so bad for them...blegh

It was nice to see more people arriving for this excursion and Ra turned to look at both Nemo and Decker when they spoke up. Both of them were military trained and would be good, solid people to have at their side for this.

"We, Decker are going to get ourselves some friends hopefully."

While it may sound like something silly to say. The little Ashlan Wolfs would be a wonderful asset and companion for each of them. From what Ra knew of them, they could be used as network of information. In her past she had been intelligence and knew just how important contacts were.

She also liked the idea of having a companion that wasn't a creature for killing.

Falling into step with the group now, the feeling the Force fading away felt odd. Not one to use the Force very often, it did not make her uncomfortable at all. This was also something she had been exposed to before.

"Why do you feel bad for them, Star?"

The flames surrounded him, to the point where they were all that he could see. They engulfed him, yet he did not burn. The maelstrom of fire and fury seemed static; frozen in time, it was waiting for something, or perhaps someone. Then suddenly it was dark. Darth Nexus woke in a cold sweat, gasping for air. Reaching for his besk'ad, he surveyed his surroundings before relaxing. The dreams had been plaguing him with no respite for several weeks now. These dreams were what led the Sith into the wilderness. Two weeks had passed since the Dark Lord landed on Myrkr, escaping the suffocating grip of intergalactic society so that he could resolve that which haunted him.

Nexus rose to his feet, sheathing his besk'ad. None of the planet's inhabitants had attempted to investigate the site while the sith slept; this could be attributed to the piles of predatory corpses that surrounded his clearing. It was a clear warning- "Death Greets All Who Enter Here". Nexus admired the simplicity of the wilderness; there were no politics or nuances here. Here, he showed that he was the apex predator, and Myrkr tested him; when he was found worthy he was left in peace. As he walked his camp's perimeter, he noticed a strange aura in the air. Even though Myrkr had muted most of the force, Nexus could sense the difference- others were here, and they were close.

Nexus' camp was a simple one, set in a clearing of trees. A small stream ran to the east of him while a small cliff face shielded the south perimeter, which also helped shield the site from winds and rain. Nexus had a small prefab unit, which provided him shelter in harsh conditions. His vessel, the Morrigan, was moored several miles west of the site, and was separated by a wall of forrest.

The Dark Lord returned to his shelter, grabbing his tools. He had two besk'ad machetes, one beskar hunting knife, a verpine shatter carbine and a similar pistol. Rather than being clad in his usual heavy armor, Nexus wore thick cargo slacks and a leather jacket with heavy padding on the shoulders and torso area. His gruff appearance, attributed to the thick white beard and loosely tied ponytail, concealed his identity which had been cast across the Holonet with warrants and bounties attached. In those images, his face was clean shaven and his tattoos -which lined his lower jaw- acted as prominent features to identify him. In the wilderness, however, he simply looked like a rugged man with ashen hair; the only feature that was hard to miss were his pale ice blue eyes.

With his equipment secured, he made his way through the forest. In his youth, he often found himself fighting on planets such as Myrkr, which meant he knew how to navigate these woods, not as prey but as a predator. As such, it did not take him long to pick up the trail of the band of visitors. The Dark Lord stalked after them, allowing the planets illusive environment to hide him. Most of the predators kept a wide berth.

Nemo held his weapon down to his side and looked at his companions briefly.

"Whatever we're here to do, with respect I suggest we do it fast. I don't like this place. I feel like an intruder."

Nemo felt uneasy on this planet. Danger could come from literally anywhere and he had no clear lines of sight in any direction. He was with force users, however, and that eased his worries a little. Although he did feel like he was here more for moral support than much else. Lightsabers beat blasters in close quarters. Anything popped out of nowhere it was they who'd be the first and last line of defense. Realizing this, Nemo switched his blaster to stun. If, by chance, something DID pop out and he fired he'd get in less trouble for stunning a friend than killing one. It'd also help to capture any creatures, if indeed that was the goal here.

"The Ysalimiri aren't pleasant, but they have their uses. And with the proper connections, you'll find areas where they will no longer bother you. Though thats a bit more effort than it's worth at the moment." As Decker arrived, Vulpesen waved him over to join the group, thankful that they hadn't gone so far as to leave him in the dust quite yet. "We're going to meet a group of creatures called ashlan wolves." As he spoke, Ace popped up and crawled onto his shoulder. "For those of you who've met Ace here, you'll know that they can speak to their bondmates through telepathy, as well as to other Ashlans. I figured something like that could become invaluable in our line of work."

Decker Willo paused, as if he had been struck by an unusual string of words...which he had. "Ashlan wolves?" He had no idea what those were. At first he thought they were coming to hunt these things. But, he was not one to work on the ground, he was a sky guy. And then [member="Vulpesen"] continued, and he understood now. They were going to get 'bond partners' via telepathy. That would make for something interesting, though he was not sure how he would make use of such a thing. "Well then...this is going to be some fun" he said quietly.
