No Limits in the Stars
Ever since Aster could comprehend the stars, he'd known he was destined to soar amongst them. Life on Reecee was harsh, his family poor, the Republic vanished when he was still a boy, but the Alliance was there by the time he became a man. Enlistment out of university had always been the plan, and he never wavered from it. A commission, a spot in the cockpit of Alliance starfighters, it all went according to plan. War didn't. People died, friends, lovers, didn't matter. Some to the enemy, some to chance, but he remained, kept his head up, did the job. Sometimes they pulled him off the line, had him test new birds before they hit the battlefield, and he was good at that too, though sometimes the fighters had a way of burning up like shooting stars. Comets, even.
As of now he's back on the line, cutting his teeth against the forces of darkness, in every way he can. -
