- Alchemized: The robes are alchemized to provide additional powers as per the details provided below.
- Looking Good: An ambassador’s duties can take them all over the galaxy, to any planet, to any city or species, yet no matter where they go they act as a representative of their people. To that end, they have to give a positive first impression, and there’s no better way to do that than the clothes you choose to wear. Worked on by the best seamstresses John could find the Astrea isn’t gaudy, but is undeniably well-made, providing the right touch of class and elegance Gianna needs for her ambassadorial duties.
- Hocus Pocus: After the tailors were done, the light silk dress was passed over to the alchemists, to be imbued with the force, to have various abilities imbued into it. Like all imbued items the robes are heavier than you’d expect from the silken robes, settling comfortably over the frame, the weight letting it fall and flow that little bit more easily.
- Just Relax: The Astrea Robes give off an aura, calming and relaxing those around the wearer. Never straying into the territory of forcing thoughts and emotions on other people, the aura is just enough to calm people down, make them more willing to stop and listen to reason.
- Alter Image: No matter where you went, different people have different expectations, different looks needed. Sometimes the negotiations don’t always go how you’d like them. Whether it’s to fit in a bit better, or to avoid a situation gone bad. Colours, styles, hair and faces, the robes make it easier to maintain an illusion around the wearer.
- Comprehend Speech: The galaxy is full of worlds, hundreds of thousands of words, millions, and species of every creed and colour, each with their own language and customs. While research can and will get you so far, it is impossible to know every language and custom. John didn’t expect to be able to fix all of this, but it could be made a little easier. If you didn’t have to worry about speaking and understanding, then it would make Gianna’s life a little bit easier when it came to performings any ambassadorial duties.
- Force Enlightenment: Like much of the gear John had made for Gianna, he made sure the alchemists in his employ included force enlightenment in the power mix, something to push her abilities up a level, making it easier for her to use and maintain the powers imbued into the robes.
- Detoxify Poison: This was a quality of life power that John thought might be useful, he’d been to the big business and ambassadorial dinners before and had seen the vast amounts of alcohol that was generally consumed at those meetings and dinners. The ability to regulate the flow of the alcohol through the body could only be useful in giving Gianna an edge over other diplomats.
- Limited protection: The Astrea Robes are not armour, not combat robes and so lack the high level of protection commonly associated with force imbued armour.
- Force Beacon: Like any alchemized or imbued item the Astrea robes act as a beacon in the force, making it very difficult to hide from any other force user.
- Null Field: When exposed to any kind of force nullification field the enhancements imbued into the robes are negated, leaving it as nothing more than a fancy looking set of robes.
There was a heavyweight on an ambassador, they never went into a meeting without the weight of the world, the weight of expectation on their shoulders. Whether it was meeting an angry crowd, or a meeting with world leaders they went into these meetings expecting to make the deals and the push the agenda they’d been given. The fate of worlds, or all the people who trusted them sat directly in their laps.
It was to this end that John began designing the Astrea Robes, hoping to make the job, the pressure just a little bit easier for Gianna Aegis when she took on her duties as an Ambassador.
The Robes were designed from the ground up for her, to reflect who she was and what she believed in. The Dramassia Silk lining of the Robe kept it comfortable, even if it had to be worn for long periods of time, light enough that even alchemized it didn’t drag and weigh down on Gianna when she wore it. The outer robe was made of Cyrene Silk, a fabric traditionally favoured by the nobles of Naboo, providing a constant link to her homeworld. Even the design of the robe pulls away from the general style preferred by diplomats and the elite of the galaxy as John picked a design that reflected Gianna’s dress sense and personal style. Something that was uniquely her.
And then came the alchemy, infusing the robes with some basic protections but most importantly with the force powers that could help her, provide her with the support she needed. The aura of calming, the ability to alter her image and to understand languages.
The Astrea Robes were crafted with one singular purpose in mind, to assist Gianna with her work while helping her look good too.
