Other notes: Since their parents death, Astrid see's herself as the mother and feels the need not so much to protect her brothers physically, but emotionally.
History: Astrid didn't feel like she grew up with her brothers, instead she feels she grew up in the shadow of them. Her parents were both force-sensitive, both Ansem and Christopher were force sensitive, but then why wasn't she? Instead of becoming jealous, Astrid strived to become better. Her intuitive mother, Anna, picked up on these feelings, and when Her father went to train the boys, Anna would take her to work with her at the mechanic shop she worked at. Astrid loved it there, she loved taking things apart, she loved inspecting each and every part before lovingly putting it all back together again. For Astrid the little mechanic shop on Dantooine was a paradise she could lose herself in for hours.
Although she began feeling like she found her niche, she still couldn't get the fact that if anything bad were to happen, she'd be a defenseless little girl, with only her big brothers to protect her. After nagging her mother day and night, her mother finally agreed to give her some basic training. Astrid was first given a few books on warfare and tactics for her ninth birthday. Even though most of these texts were for advanced readers, Astrid was extremely intelligent and loved the challenged the books presented. She read the books till the pages were falling out of its bindings, and she made a habit of criticizing her brothers techniques and sometimes sloppy form. Partly to keep her out of the way of her brothers, and partly because she showed so much promise, her mother decided to give her some real combat training. Astrid, being so young couldn't be properly trained in hand to hand combat, not only did she not have the physique but she also did not have ability to look an opponent eyes and kill them. Although it never came to that, her mother could feel it in Astrids heart, and decided the best option for her would be fire arms. By no means was Anna a master with a blaster, she wasn't even really qualified to be teaching anyone how to use one, but Astrid insisted, and eventually like always, her mother gave in. Astrid was surprising good with a blaster, maybe it was the steady hands she developed while working in the mechanic shop, or maybe it just ran in her blood.
The night her parents died really changed her. Astrid was the only one to talk to her parents before they died, and they didn't really talk, it was more silent, mouthed words of love before her parents were taken from her. She stood on the top step of her staircase, her brothers behind her packing away their most precious belongings. Astrid didn't care about her things, she just wanted to see her parents one last time. She watched as they argued with the man, the stranger yelled and called her parents names Astrid had never heard before. Astrid knew they used to be jedi.. Or sith.. Actually to think of it, her parents never really told them where their alliance used to be. Just another question that filled Astrid's head, driving her crazy knowing she'd never be able to know for sure. Her mother caught her glance on the stairway while Astrid's father argued with the man. Astrid remember's her mother's eyes tearing up, and mouthing the words " I love you " before clearing her face of all emotion, as if she was able to turn a switch off in her head. It was at this time Astrid's older brother grabbed her by the arm and handed her a blaster, and chip holding all of their families money. It wasn't a lot of money, but hopefully enough to feed them before they find a way off the planet. With a stern look from her two brothers, and a pat on the back by Christopher, the trio ran out the window, just before hearing a large explosion behind them. The three vowed on never turning back.
