DESCRIPTION |
The AT-RB07 was developed to provide the Galactic Alliance Defense Force with a heavy support weapon that could be deployed as a dedicated emplacement weapon to secure a position or provide a relatively smaller force with a higher volume of fire when engaging an enemy target. However, the primary drawback of the AT-RB07 is that it requires a full crew of at least three individuals to service and efficiently operate the weapon with each individual tasked with a different aspect of the weapon. Much like the similarly sized designs of the E-Web Repeating Blaster, the AT-RB07 includes a power generator that is directly connected to the weapon to provide it with continuous power rather than relying on smaller power packs or power cells. And though it is possible to fire the weapon continuously, the power generator itself requires constant minute adjustments to ensure that power continues to feed to the primary weapon; likewise, the gas canister also requires additional adjustments to ensure that the weapon's firing chamber is not flooded with Tibanna Gas to prevent a potential catastrophic weapon malfunction or misfire. A somewhat unique aspect of the AT-RB07 compared to other Heavy Repeating Blasters is its ability to charge and unleash a more powerful blaster bolt. This charged shot can provide the gunner with a versatile firing option when it comes to heavier armored infantry or lightly armored vehicles. However, the time that it takes to charge prevents it from being as readily available for use as the standard rapid-fire setting when utilizing the weapon. Likewise, when using either the charged shot or the standard firing setting, the AT-RB07 is known to produce a powerful recoil which can be considered an oddity for a blaster-based weapon. In an attempt to counter this, the weapon is designed to be utilized with a standard tripod or fixed to a location or mount to maintain accuracy and its rate of fire. With conflicts once more raging in the Galaxy and the peace of the Alliance threatened, the addition of the AT-RB07 to the arsenal of the Galactic Alliance Defense Force provides a heavy support weapon that can easily turn the tide of battle as it can keep a location safe. |
