“Hey now, that tickles!” The only thing that could be heard was the sound of giggles and the little playful growls from three Nexu cubs that were trying to climb up the young woman’s body. They were still fairly pure white; the three hadn’t been more than a few months old and had only begun getting their other fur in as their baby fur had only started to shed in the past few days. Adding to the chaos, white fur floated around them mixing with the hay dust as Elliana tried to socialize with the cubs to help give them a better chance at working with them once they grew up and became too big to handle.

The mother, a cage over which attached to their large habitat watched in careful interest as the animal-loving woman played with them. Elliana had been about the only one in the whole Galactic zoo who the mother Nexu let around her or her offspring. She made it a point to show her affection in low growls while rubbing her face up against the bars whenever Elliana was near. And because of her fondness for the young zookeeper, it had been tasked upon her to socialize the cubs and keep a rapport with the mother as they grew. “What do you think, Vala? How do You handle these little furballs?” Giving the mother a bright smile as a low groan of approval came from the Nexu’s large, wide mouth and her four blinking eyes gave her a trusting look.

“Now, now… Not the hair.” Elliana reached up at the playful cub who had climbed up her back trying to paw and chew on the blonde, messy bun that was her hair. Reaching around and pulling him off of her, the little guy wrapped his ever-growing paws around her arm, allowing him to be transported back down to the ground. “You guys are nothing but trouble but I love you!” The only female of the group, which was the most docile, began batting at Elliana’s boot while the two males began to wrestle, giving out large growls and grunts as they playfully rolled across the hay.

[Geff Highland]

Traveling along the plains of Coruscant in the outer sector of the city, Geff Highland Looks onto his navigatational display inside his transport carrier, driven by one of the Medical security officers. The light carpet under his feet was a tanned skin made of animal hide, sanctioned and used responsibly..although he had no idea what he would soon be walking into. He observed the location on the map..30 kilometers out. Adjusting his hand, rubbing his face, and in need of rest he only thought about one thing. The species of animals on his list that were sanctioned as safe...hospitable..and could be used for many resources safely. He was indifferent towards creatures that inhabited the galaxy however. They could be just as hostile as docile or friendly in an instant. But it was worth a shot..As far as the investigation was concerned. Scrolling through the data base he glanced at the preferred point of contact. Elliana Wess . He knew nothing of her..But the fact that she was in charge of the Galactic Zoo on Coruscant. "Hmmm.." He mumbled to himself as he viewed her profile. Nothing much came up on the data base. He would have to see for himself what she thought about animals and nature .

"Malsen....Let me know when we've approached docking bay.." He nods as he walks over to the couch within the grond transport and flops down..letting his mind carry him away at future medicinal possibilities with the creatures he has yet to meet.

The young Zookeeper let the boys roll around for a while before scooping them up to break up the scuffle as they were getting a bit rough with each other. Giving a bit of a laugh, she hugged the struggling cubs to her for a little hug before placing them back down to play again. “I got it!” Elliana's button nose had been scrunched up in thought while her green eyes followed the two as they bounded and pounced and gave little growls in the hay. “Crix and Sion.” Looking down at the female who was still playing with her boot; scratching and clawing as she went. “And you’ll be Lufta, my sweet.” A satisfied smile on her face, Elliana lay back, expecting a full attack from all three which happened almost immediately. She gave a bit of a squeal and burst into giggles as they pawed and pounced all over her. “That tickles!”

It was then a muffled beeping could be heard coming from her overall pocket. It caught the attention of the three cubs leaving them to simultaneously pounce her hip, causing her to laugh more as she tried to fish it out. It was then, a rather important memory had come to mind. She was supposed to have a visitor today; his name was Geff Highland and from what she knew of him, he came with great credentials as well as a passion for making sure the animals were well taken care of and then some. Her messy bun was no longer intact, instead, pieces now hung in her face; pieces of hay and fur clung to it.

Answering it promptly, She spoke with a bit of a sing-songy voice as she tried to fight the three cubs who now found their new toy “This is Ellie!” The young woman never went by her full name; she preferred Ellie but most times she had to deal with the fact that in her professional life, most called her by her given name, Elliana. But before she could say anything else, one of the cubs climbed up her back again and onto her shoulder trying to paw and reach for the comm-link. “Hey! Sion, that’s not yours!” She spoke between giggles, momentarily distracted as the other two tried to do the same.

Finally managing to shake them off, she stood for a moment trying to get away from the attack of the cubs. “Sorry about that, Nexu cubs and all that.” She wasn't sure who the face was on the other end, other than the note of surprise that seemed to flicker on the communications device. Unless she had imagined that completely. But she had to guess it was at least someone working with Geff making contact. "If this is about the visit today, I can pick you up in fifteen."​

"Hello? Hello can you hear me?" The voice echoes blended with static from the transmission signal. "Hello?..Hi there..This is Mr.Highland..I'm approaching rendezvous point. We had a meeting scheduled..and..and my apologies..as it was kind of impromptu. I have here a data log on most of the creatures you have at the Galactic Zoo...There are a few anaccounted for however as im reviewing the total count. Can you meet me at the entrance to your wonderful establishment? North gate i believe? Over and out." He sighs as a visual of her face comes in and out of transmission. The reception must have been spotty..atleast that is what Highland is led to believe. He exits the communication link and turns to one of the assistants inside the cabin. She looks outside the window..observing the terrain as they sped by. "Ms. Lanters..." He asks while noticing her expression.."Ms.Lanters?" he asks again awaiting a response eagerly.

"Oh..yes..yes..sorry Mr. Highland..." the 5'4 thin brunette responded sheepishly and somewhat embarrassed at her current absence with the current task at hand. "Hey...Nothing to be worried about." He assured her. "It's safe out here..Not only that..I'm going alone. Your staying with the crew. Research..Gather data..Done.." He nods in assurance and conviction. As they arrive closer, he prepares his carry bag.

There had been more to the transmission but that had been all that the young woman had heard. She squealed in delight, only causing the three cubs to get even more excited as she went to pick them up and shuffle them back in with their mother for now. There was something about being able to share the experience of the zoo with others. Even if Mr. Highland was only here for professional reasons, it didn’t mean that Elliana wasn’t going to enjoy showing him around as they went. Once the cubs were secure, she grabbed the communicator that she had dropped before placing it back in her overalls and began making her way to the North entrance with an exciting run.

Fur and hay flew out of her messy hair as she went and as she went, a few Endorian chickens squealed in protest as she ran past. Looking back, she gave a bit of a wave at the uncaring chickens in apology for disrupting their foraging. “Ooh! Sorry!” She could hear the different sounds of the zoo as she ran past each enclosure. There were grunts and growls and sounds from the elation of the guests as they experienced the zoo either for their first time or a return visit. Seeing that she had some time, Elliana slowed some, stopping by one of the stalls before plopping down a few credits for a bottled drink. The older Zabrak gave her a bit of a chuckle as he looked at the overall state of the woman. “Where do you think you’re going so fast there, Ellie?” His voice was gruff but friendly and was one of the few in the Zoo that didn’t poke fun at her in a caddy way.

Elliana gave the most excited, brightest smile after she drank down almost half the bottle; returning the cap to its original spot, she wiped her mouth off on her sleeve. “Someone is coming to do some logging on some animals, Artar! Isn’t that exciting?!” Her voice didn’t hold back any excitement and was paired with a loud, deep belly laugh from the vendor. “An ant could sneeze in your direction, little one and you’d be wearin’ that same doggone smile you are now.” Ellie returned the laugh before downing the rest of her drink and waving bye to the vendor before taking off at the same pace she was before.

It was a bit of a run, as she had been at the other side of the zoo but Elliana may have been a few minutes late. There were a few small land-speeders that they would be able to use to travel around the park but where she had been, there hadn't been on standby.

Looking ahead, there was a man standing there; assuming he was the one she was waiting for, Elliana approached, trying to catch her breath, she greeted him with bright, green eyes and a sweet smile as she tried to catch her breath. “Mr...Highland? I’m...sorry...I’m late… I had to…” She bent over, catching her breath for a second before returning to her normal stance. “...take care of some things before I arrived.” She paused, holding her hand out in greeting. “I’m Elliana, but everyone calls me Ellie.” ​

As she approached the entrance, Geff stood there with his hands neatly in his pockets of his medical uniform. His back was turned as he took in the scenery surrounding the area..Mountains off in the distance..plenty of sunlight..few scattered clouds..And plenty of speeders along with aircrafts traveling about in the distance. As he turned around, hearing his name called..He imagined someone older for a brief second..until he turned around to listen to the rest of the words escaping her mouth. His eyes met hers and instantly..the world seemed to stand still for Geff in a moments notice. "E..Elllie...um..sorry,..Yes I'm Mr. Highland.

"It..it's totally ok." He utters as his face blushes redder than the sun. It would seem that he was nervous..painfully obvious it was as he searched for the appropriate words as if he forgot why he was there to begin with. "Umm..Yes" Chuckles with a smile and shakes her hand completing the formal introduction. "So..yes i am here for the uhh..marvelous creatures you have harbored! And uhhh.." he holds his hands out, eyes fixated on hers. "I'm from the Highland medical..i'n the inner city of Coruscant. We had our appointment for today. I apologize..If i seem short winded..I just...Am in awe at what I am seeing. But yes! Tell me all you can! I'll be making annotations in my data pad!" He smiles once more feeling his heart accelerate

It was clear that this was, indeed Mr. Highland. He seemed to be around Elliana’s age and while this didn’t bother the young woman at all, she almost expected someone...older. But not questioning it, her green eyes were locked on his dark ones, noting his handsome features as she gave him a bright smile. But it was then that she noticed his face turning red as he tried to speak. It concerned Elliana, leaving her to come close, pressing the back of her hand against his forehead. “Are you okay?! You seem flushed- We can get you some water if you need it. I know it’s warm out here, today.”

The young woman inspected his features up close before giving him some space, still worried about her visitor. . "So..yes i am here for the uhh..marvelous creatures you have harbored! And "I'm from Highland medical..i'n the inner city of Coruscant. We had our appointment for today.” He seemed a bit shy or nervous and Elliana hoped that she hadn’t scared the young man as she had bounded up. It had come to her attention at that moment as a few pieces of hay and fur floated out of her hair in front of her face; dancing around the many strands of hair that framed her face. Blowing the floating pieces away, she gave a bit of a smile, nodding at his words. “I’m so glad you’re here! I think you’re gonna love what you see- I’ll have to show you the new Nexu cubs. They are SOOO CUTE!” She couldn’t contain her excitement at sharing them with someone who seemingly enjoyed working with animals. Clasping her hands in front of her while rocking a bit on her heels, she let him finish.

"I apologize...If I seem short-winded..I just...Am in awe at what I am seeing. But yes! Tell me all you can! I'll be making annotations in my data pad!" Giving Geff an excited nod, she looked behind her, pointing some behind her. “They are marvelous, aren’t they?! I come in every morning in awe of working with incredible animals.” Another bright smile as she pointed to the land speeder within walking distance as she led the way before hopping in the pilot’s side. “Hop in, I’ll show you around and let me know what you need for your data log.” Taking off, she went slow; minding the guests and vendor huts as she went. She pointed as she went, excitedly talking about each exhibit.

"The Worrmps aren’t super cute, but I love their cute little chubby bodies! They are from Coronet, on Corellia, and are considered rodents. They are mainly here because their species isn’t doing all that great.” Ellie went on about various animals as they went before turning off to a small pathway which led them past the staff area and through a more scenic part of the zoo. “So, are there any specific animals you’d like to see, Mr. Highland?’ Turning to the young man, the wind tugged on the messy hair pulling more fur and hay from its strands. “No place is off-limits, I want to make sure you get the full experience.” ​

He took note of all of her answers to his inquiries as they traveled along..Refusing the water with a glance of curiosity and a smile. As she began talking about her nexu cubs he quickly took out his data pad and began recording information to compare to what Highland Medical already had on file. As they continued on..he nodded and took a note on a new entry in regards to the species known as the Worrmp. His database didn't reveal much information but then again..It was indeed considered an endangered species. Question is, why?

He cleared his throat once more and looked at her with excitement. "Your..uhh..The Worrmps..You said they were relocated from their home world of Corellia. Any idea as to why the species started to dwindle?" He asks as they cruise through the scenic terrain. He was enjoying the company of this woman although very compassionate and spirited..He Knew there was something deeper that tied her to the nature of these creatures.

"Your..uhh..The Worrmps..You said they were relocated from their home world of Corellia. Any idea as to why the species started to dwindle?" The young man brought up the Worrmps’ population issue and Ellie gave a bit of a nod as she slowed some, allowing him to get a full view of the Zoo as they went. “They live in the sewers and unfortunately, they are usually killed on sight for their unsightliness but they are very much harmless to beings.” Elliana let the words hang in the air as she took a left turn, a bit harder than intended, causing her to give a bit of a nervous giggle “Oops! Sorry…”

The breeze was welcomed on such a warm day leaving the young woman to not only enjoy showing someone around but as well as the beautiful weather outside. “They help keep down on Meetle infestation in the sewers, which is why it’s important that they are protected.” While the Meetle was enjoyed as a delicacy, too many of them would cause issues for buildings and ships alike.

As Elliana slowed, she gave her company a bit of a sweet smile as she hopped out of the land speeder at what would have been the back door to an enclosure. “I have to feed the cubs, but then we can move on through the Zoo!” Nodding for him to follow, she unlocked the padlock, leaving a long corridor with one cage on the right side and another next to it that led out to the public enclosure. It had been where Elliana had only been an hour or so before having to meet Geff. “You can sit here, while I get the cubs. Once you’re comfortable, if you’d like, you can come in and join me.” A bright smile plastered on her face, she headed over to the main enclosure, calling for Vala and waiting for her to show with the three playful cubs in tow. The mother looked cautiously at the company, but Elliana reassured the Nexu. “It’s okay girl, he’s with me. He’s good, I promise.” The large creature gave a bit of a groan in agreement before allowing the cubs to come running to the young Zookeeper as she pulled them out of the small door at the bottom.

Laughing as she rangled them into the small enclosure, she left it unlocked but closed the door behind her as she reached up for some small pieces of meat she had prepared on an upper shelf before leaving prior as snacks for their feeding time with her. “I have to check in on them every few hours, for now.” She addressed Geff “To keep the bond going and to make sure they have that contact so if anything goes wrong in the future, we can handle them for treatment.”

Looking up at him as she fed them pieces of the meat, laughing as they grunted and growled playfully as she did so. “Would you like to come in and hold one? They don’t really bite unless they are playing.”

"Hold one? Sure!" He exclaimed with a smile. He was curious about a lot of things. These creatures and their habitat...Thier particular role in the ever expanding species data base. Geff knew he had to focus. The possibility of presenting good data to the board meant possibly opening up an expansive medical wind dedicated to domesticated animals and creature such as these. He opened his hands as he walked towards her and the lovely Worrmps.

Seeing them so playful and trusting of Elliana assured him that they meant no harm. As he crouched slowly he uttered to them. "I mean no harm little ones..And especially you there mamma. No harm intended.." He spoke while tuning his mind with hers attempting to bond with the little family. Normally this type of thing would make him nervous..But with clarity and good intentions..Hopefully the vibes emitting from his core would show one of peace..Which is needed between humaniods and creatures such as these.

"Hold one? Sure!" Elliana’s smile brightened at the man’s eagerness as he joined her in the enclosure. Picking up the female, she scooted over to Geff and gently placing her in his arms. The Nexu cub playfully batted at Geff’s face causing Elliana to giggle some. “This is Lufta. She’s the sweetest of the three and she’s a girl.” Elliana paused, her green eyes meeting his dark ones.

“That’s Crix and Sion. Both boys. Their mom is Vala.” Letting Geff hold on to the little cub, she went over to break up the other two that were now fighting over a loose piece of rock that was on the floor.

“No, No.” Her voice was cheery and soft as she took it from the pair, leaving all eight eyes to stare back up at her with confusion. “No rocks for you. Have this!” She handed them each a little piece before sitting down next to Geff and allowing them both to play at her feet. “You doing okay with her?”

The little cub seemed content in his arms, only every so often batting at his handsome features with its paws. Elliana sat there for a little while, letting them play before looking over at him. “What made you want to do what you do?” The young Zookeeper tilted her head like a curious bird; pieces of her messy hair tickled her cheeks with the movement. “I’m glad someone else loves the animals as much as I do.”
