Rule of Two
ACT's Cortosis Crates
SPECIAL FEATURES
- These crates are made of a material called Cortosis. This makes them resistant to blaster fire, explosions and Lightsabers.
- These crates are being traced and tracked by the Direct Surveillance of Domestic Threats.
STRENGTHS
- Resistance: If one of these crates were attacked via blaster fire, explosions or Lightsabers then they would be resistant to such attacks. In the case of a Lightsaber attack these crates have the potential to short-circuit the weapon, and prevent them from working temporarily.
- Reliable: Due to it's resistant attributes these crates are a reliable form of transportation. A number of items ranging from weapons and munitions all the way through to foodstuffs can be stored in these crates and safely transported.
- Surveillance Tagger: Each of these crates is fitted with a Surveillance tagger. These short wave devices allows an individual to track these crates via a Homing beacon built into each tagger installed. A datapad can be used to accomplish this if an individual knows what they are looking for. These taggers are also linked to the Direct Surveillance of Domestic Threats.
WEAKNESSES
- Rare: Cortosis, as a rare material, makes the number of these crates existence to be rare in number. Therefore their use is limited in scope and availability making them purposeful for personal use rather than for wide transportation, or commercial use.
DESCRIPTION
At the turn of the 9th century, in 902 ABY, Drey's Cortosis Mine was opened in a joint venture between Drey, Mecetti Nationalized Industries and Arceneau Trading Company with Salacia Consolidated hired for their expertise in the mining and subsequent extraction of Cortosis. With the opening of this mine the rare material of Cortosis became an available resource to three of the corporations as part of the terms negotiated for and agreed upon during the Obredaan Peel. Later that year, during the Convocation of Sojourn Alicia Drey arranged the sale of Cortosis Transportation Crates after Danger Arceneau made a bid of two hundred thousand GSE which was subsequently accepted during an auction by it's hostess.
Instead of the Cortosis Transportation Crates Alicia arranged for the creation of the ATC's Cortosis Crates for the purposes of tracking their use via a Surveillance tagger that was installed into each crate. The Homing beacon located inside each tagger would allow Alicia to track the crates via the use of a datapad. Conversely she also used the Direct Surveillance of Domestic Threats in order to track the movement of these crates too by linking the technologies together. This would allow Alicia to trace the location of each crate through the frequency transmitted by the Surveillance tagger on each crate.
After these crates were manufactured by Drey Alicia arranged for them to be transported to Danger Arceneau as part of their agreed upon transaction in the hope that she would not realise that they are different from the Cortosis Transportation Crates that she originally made a bid for during the Convocation of Sojourn. Tracking the movement and shipping of Arceneau Trading Company and it's owner, Danger Arceneau , was a vital part of a plan conceived by the Order of the Sith Lords in their attempt to expand their influence throughout the Galaxy. With the Arceneau Trading Company operating along many hyperlanes Alicia Drey hoped to map out the shipping movements of her target and learn more about their operations.
Like any form of Cargo container these crates can be magnetically sealed. This prevents the belongings inside these crates from breaking during transportation, and also assists luggage such as foodstuffs from spoiling. They can be opened and items can be stored inside for safe keeping.
The Surveillance tagger technology used in this submission can only be used subject to the permission of the writers affected by it.
