- Combat Function: The Black Valkyries are an elite host of tribal female-based warriors which can act as a game-changing addition in the battlefield. Their allegience is hard to claim, and they shall not obey commands of a leader they do not accept as worthy. They can be deployed to fill several roles in the battlefield:
- Vehicle-Hunters. Armed with the heavy sniper rifles they train a lifetime to use in their most inhospitable planet they hail from, these warrioresses can set ambushes and launch stealth attacks against enemy convoys and tank formations from huge distance.
- Line Piercing. Swift, agile and heavily armed with their Force-enchanted warblades, the Black Valkyries can operate as a line piercing elite unit, deployed in specific locations on the battlefield, in which they utilize their great stealth abilities and impressive speed, piercing through the enemy lines whether those are trenches, encampments or vessel decks, spreading havoc on the enemy, to allow their allies to advance.
- Assassins. Under the grim cloak of the night, these warrioresses are the ones sent to assassinate an enemy commander, or leader, or even perform a stealth attack behind enemy lines, sabotaging or even breaking the defenses, for the main assault to be launched.
- Witches of Asara. These Force-Sensitive warrioresses come to the battlefield with a lifetime of training and surviving the harsh environment of their homeworld. They shall never retreat, or flee the battle, meant to fulfill their tasks with all means necessary.
- Relentless Warbands. The Valkyries can be as stealthy, as they can be blaze-bringers. Their skill of operating both as sniper squads, away from the frontlines, as well as gladiators in the very center of carnage makes them a very powerful force to be reckoned with.
- Eyes of Defiance. The Black Valkyries shall not obey orders from a commander they do not acknowledge as their equal. Even worse, when it comes to grim odds, these warbands shall refuse to retreat, or withdraw from the battlefield, after engaging in hand-to-hand combat, as they consider it dishonour. When locked in battle, if such a unit cannot receive reinforcements, will be lost.
- Distaste of Defeat. The Black Valkyries consider defeat a grim omen from their patron deity.Should the host they are in loses many of the battles fought, or is seen retreating from battles, or withdrawing from a campaign, the Valkyries perceive that as divine wrath and shall abandon their host, or even turn hostile.
The Black Valkyries ascend from a long lineage of the Warrior-Queens of Kratos. A hostile feral world on which the summer brings infernal heat, while at winter the blizzard can reach Hoth-level temperatures. To survive, the tribes on Kratos had to hunt the massive beasts that roamed the lands, risking to become the prey of the underground predators, always looking for an easy target. The tribes of Kratos are consisted of Force Sensitive peoples, with the peoples being driven to an extreme warrior-cultre. Although the men seem to remain on Kratos and spend their lives as hunters, or chieftains of their tribes, many of the women have taken a different path. They gathered in warbands, under their Warrior-Queens, and sailed to the stars, where they seek plunder and wealth to bring back to their homes, becoming the Black Valkyrie Warbands. These warrioresses acted for centuries as pirates along the orbit of Korrithon. However, with the coming of the Athysian League, many of the Valkyrie Warbands joint the vast Raider Fleets of the Athysian Hegemons.
