- Can Stop a Charging Thaelo: The 8.58x69mm cartridge used in the rifle is well known as an anti-materiel round usually used in sniper rifles, its use in the Atin gives it more than enough stopping power to put down whatever the user puts in its sights
- Rugged and Reliable: The Atin is made with extremely loose tolerances, clearances and as few moving parts as possible, combine this with a few of the rifle features and it can operate in the most adverse conditions known
- Extremely Versatile: With the ability to mount various optics, a bipod and larger sized magazines the Atin can fill a variety of roles from normal assault rifle to designated marksman rifle to squad automatic rifle
- Cumbersome: A downside of the cartridge used is that the large amount of force it generates when fired and in order to reduce this the Atin has a rather heavyweight design and this makes it somewhat cumbersome to wield
- Versatile but Not a Wonder Weapon: While highly versatile and able to fit into a handful of roles the Atin is not a wonder weapon and cannot replace more role dedicated weapons
- Cut Down Rate of Fire: While the recoil of the rifle could not be reduced further it was found that the rifle could be more accurately fired with a reduction in its rate of fire
Just like the Ad'ika the Atin is a generational design that has evolved and changed over the centuries it has been in production to better suit the needs of the current members of House Corek, while still keeping some elements from the original design.
The most current iteration of the Atin is a slugthrower rifle chambered in the particularly powerful 8.58x69mm cartridge. The materials used in its construction don't vary when compared to the Ad'ika, using the same Titanium-Durasteel Alloy in almost the entire rifles construction for its durability and light weight. The barrel is lined with Chromium to prevent damage from repeated use and the entire rifle was coated in CeramiCoat to do the same for the outside of it.
There are two new additions when it came to the Atin in terms of materials. The first was the replacement of the Alusteel bayonet with one instead made of Mandalorian Steel to increase the durability, the former Alusteel version having been prone to snapping against thicker skinned enemies. The other materials change was rather a standardization. Many House Corek warriors were wrapping leather strips around the Atin's grip and handguard to make it more comfortable to shoot and so the House Corek Forges decided to include this as standard.
The Atin comes equipped with a bevy of special features that one would expect to find on a rifle designed by the same family that produced the galaxy's most prolific slugthrower designer. As you would expect the rifle comes equipped with a set of fully ambidextrous features making it simple and easy to shoot no matter which hand is dominant. A nickel boron bolt carrier makes the bolt more resistant to corrosion as well as easier to clean. A recoil mitigation system installed in the stock helps reduce the amount of felt recoil. A pair of adjustable iron sights on the rifle allows the shooter, if not equipped with an optic, to adjust for distance and windage for more accurate shots.
On the more modern side a optic rail is installed on the rifle allowing shooters to mount a wide variety of optics. A threaded and heavy barrel allows for the mounting of muzzle devices and to reduce upward recoil respectively. A bayonet is of course necessary for mounting, and removing, the Atin's ubiquitous bayonet. A mounting bracket for a bipod was installed so the rifle could be equipped with a bipod for stability. A detachable rifle grenade adapter allows the shooter to use the rifle to launcher grenades further distance than they could throw. Lastly Atin includes a rather unique feature, an adjustable gas system that allows the shooter to choose between three different rates of fire.
