STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES
+ All of his early life was spent as a lab rat, and as such he has benefits that were engineered into him. Most notable are his strong connection to and presence within the force, and a self-defence fail-safe programme that was neurologically implanted into him. This programming allows uncontrollable release of power from the Sigma Project core to defend Atretes against death. It only activates when he is on the brink of destruction, but can still leak out under duress.
+ Rhoujen is very determined. He will try his best and hardest at a goal if he gives up, and will mull over that failure to better himself in the future.

+/- Atretes is very honest, since he was never forced to lie to get by. As a consequence, he finds it difficult to be verbally deceptive and says things as he sees them, rather than sugar-coating or lying.

- Due to his life in the labs, he is not versed in the ways of the galaxy from skills to social etiquette. He is polite, but socially dumb and introverted.
- Also due to his time in the labs, medical equipment -- Medic Droids in particular -- makes him nervous. If he's already been under stress, he may fight against being taken to a hospital.
- As part of his determined nature, he can be quite difficult to dissuade. Such things can get him into trouble if a foolish notion takes his fancy.

APPEARANCE
Atretes is a tall, lithe man who often wears comfortable clothing that doubles as functional (things like cargo pants, long coats, and military boots to start with). He has short blonde hair, calm eyes, and tends to walk with a cautious step, though it's played off by his upper body boasting confidence even when there is none. His physique is defined, but not bulging, and with clothes on one may thing he looks physically weak. His eyes have a tendency to flit to sudden noises or movements.

BIOGRAPHY
Early Life:
Record of Atretes' birth was destroyed, and the man remembers nothing of those days, unfortunately. However, what little was kept of his recorded biographies states that he was an orphan found begging on the streets of some unknown planet, likely one of the city-worlds, as a young child. Genetic tests indicated that one of his grandparents was a Miraluka, making him one quarter Miraluka. Information regarding times before any of this recorded data is mere speculation, and to far back too be of significant consequence.

The Labs:
Following abduction ("rescue") by a shady organisation, Atretes was subjected to a series of tests and modifications whilst unconscious. They included everything from a growth rate reducer to slight alterations that affected hair and eye colour. Mostly insignificant modifications that were done just to see if they were possible.
There was, however, a contract that they were assigned. A long-term project known only as "Sigma" was designed to create the perfect Forceborn supersoldier. They had previously gone through too many youths to count by memory, most of them dying midway through the process. Not Atretes, however. In the years he was known only as "Sigma-446-B", the benefactor of the entire project ordered the team leader to reduce the amount of life support chemicals and increase the stress on the body. Despite the scientist thinking this was only a recipe for murder, he agreed lest he lose his very life. The result was shocking.

Years passed, and while everyone was always worried that young Sigma was only destined to die, a few realised that he was showing a much more remarkable success rate than the previous subjects. They weren't sure if it was his genetic makeup or the more rigourous application of immersion therapy, but by the time he was seventeen they began to work with him only slightly on his powers. They had no idea what to expect, so they went through basic telekinetic exercises and sensing dangerous objects. The most basic things any three-year-old Jedi would have known, back in those times.

Then came the boy's nineteenth birthday. He had been growing restless in his skin, and it was starting to show. He would prowl in his room like a caged Kath hound, eyeing the door and security cameras with an increasingly-feral look in his eye. The scientists were, naturally, growing concerned and all attempts to contact their benefacter were rejected. By the time they realised this was likely all part of the plan, it was too late. A team was sent into Sigma's room to sedate him, but the moment the magnetic seal on the door was broken, the young man burst out of his room and made a break for the hangars. His full programmed defensive constuct was in force, and nothing the scientists or security forces could do would stop him. He escaped, but then found that his lack of skill and knowledge would be his downfall.

Captain Mako's Crew:
Having no idea what hyperspace, nav coordinates, or any such things were at the time, Sigma found his escape trip very short. He punched the switch labeled "Hyperdrive" without even considering what it meant, and ended up crashing into an asteroid field in some random section of the galaxy. He lost consciousness, life support was in critical failure, and he was left floating in the abyss of space, in a tin can. It was by pure luck that a pirate ship had been searching for salvage to make a quick credit. They discovered the derelict freighter and cut it open. When they discovered Sigma alive, they pulled him aboard and were preparing to sell him into slavery. The Captain halted those efforts, however. Kray Mako saw something in the young man, and he wanted to know if he was correct about a hunch. The Captain offered the youth a choice: Join the crew, or join slavery. As much as the young man despised the ultimatum, he could neither force that surge of power nor escape anywhere of his own accord without knowledge. If for no other reason than self-preservation and education, Atretes joined the crew.

Life aboard the pirate ship was tough, but it gave the young man something to do and helped him become strong. Through them he gained knowledge of ships inside and out, a love for spacefaring, an iron stomach, and a steel jaw. He could take a hit and land one too, and he could fly a ship almost on par with the best of them. He fell out of practise ocassionally, but naturally aboard a pirate vessel if you're not pulling your weight properly the punishment is harsh. Six years he spent aboard the Riposte, and in that time he went from idiot to pirate with a relatively smooth transition. Mako was proved right, and from the credits he made betting with his crew, he decided to reward the prodigy. On their next pass to Nar Shadaa, Captain Mako made a deal to gain Sigma his own S18 Light Freighter, which was jokingly named the "KWS Morvak", as the Morvak is a predatory creature that lives in asteroid fields.

Armed with a ship, a blaster, and a handful of credits, Mako had one last thing to bless Sigma with: A proper name. This whole time he'd only been known as Sigma, so Mako named the pirate after his uncle. Atretes Rhoujen was a great man, or so Mako remembered, and he felt that it was fitting for a fledgling in the galaxy who would undoubtedly do great things. With that, the Captain gave Rhoujen a swift kick and up into the ship he went.

Little did Atretes know, his Captain had been contacted by the previous Benefactor, who was hunting his high-credit science experiment. Mako send Atretes off to protect him, at the cost of his ship, crew, and self. The marvelous fireball was the last anyone would ever know of Captain Mako and the Riposte.

Rhoujen wandered for awhile after that. He touched with connections and made possible friends and allies, but he still felt that he was missing a purpose. Then he was discovered by a Force Master who'd experienced a similar situation, and offered the younger man a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that Rhoujen would have been a fool to reject.

Present Day:
Taken in by the Force Master Salem Norongachi, or Omega, Atretes spends most of his time training to become better versed in the ways of the Force, and to unlock the potential bestowed to him by the people who created him.

» SHIP INFORMATION «
The KWS Morvak is an S18 Light Freighter that has been modified to be piloted by a minimum crew of one. A permanently-mounted droid copilot called Kawys manages the quad-laser turrets mounted on the dorsal and ventral sections of the ship. It is usually armed with at least one emergency proton torpedo, and has a port to be outfitted with one turbolaser battery, however such a modification was too expensive for Captain Mako to afford to Rhoujen. It has deflector shields of questionable quality, but should keep the ship alive against a few hits from a laser cannon, or one direct hit from a turbolaser. The repolsor, sublight, and hyperdrive aren't top-notch either. The ship is a fancy hull, a few good weapons, and bargain bin essentials. Not the worst ship, but definitely not the best either.

At least the name has the word "Hot" in it!

On a side note, relating to this page, incoming slight aesthetic retcon. Why? Because Sean Bean, that's why.
