Rex Taff the minister for science for the CIS and Kaine Australis were talking about joint projects when this design was brought up. With a few improvements and some modular weapons, the design was ready for production. Given it was created by Mandal Arms they could keep a copy of the schematics, while Rex set about getting them into production. Among the improvement were targeting processors, modular weaponry. However, as they are still small they are easy to crush, but that also made them hard to hit. Even with targeting processes they sometimes still hit each other when they are launched in a swarm like they are designed to be used.
With Rex Taff dying and his company passing on to Tom Taff. With this and recent events Tom decided to redo many of Rex's older plans along with a number of the dealings his father had made. To start with he redid his guards armours and now finding himself devoid of the force he is now turning back to the droid working that has kept him busy for so long. As such he took the old designs of the attack remote and added the droid brains as well as DION fibre. This allowed the droids to up their accuracy from their older designs as well as giving them a new EMP resistance that they didn't have previously.
