Description:
The Audacity-class Heavy Cruiser was designed as a successor to the Victory and Republic line of cruisers by Rendili StarDrives in union with uat Drive Yards. The ship itself is a mass produced designed to be a decent fighting vessel while still cost effective. It's armaments are relatively light for a vessel of its size which is made up for by a slight boost in speed. The main weapon batteries are contained in over-sized turrets, housing an entire battery each, giving them an extra bump when attempting to fire in volume. The vessel itself has average shields and hull. Overall this design is a cost effective weapons system making it increasingly common in the Republic's arsenal.
Initially this vessel was deployed as the head of small combat patrols hunting pirates and running interdiction runs against slavers on the rim of Republic territory. The vessel was successful in it's deployments and had a hardy internal workings making it simple to maintain for crews. Orders for the vessel soon increased as it became popular with crews and soon became the workhorse of the Republic Fleet.
