Description:
In developing new weapon technology for Aurora's starships, the engineers at Aurora began working on improving the standard ion cannon they had been utilizing since the company began. This research and work resulted in the AV-04 "Gremlin" Rapid-Fire Ion Cannon.
Utilizing Sianium in the weapon's individual power generators, the Gremlin's power generators are able to give it the required energy for the desired rate of fire without building larger generators. Modifying the ion accu-accelerator to accept the additional energy increased the rate of creation for the charged particles the Gremlin fires, with the ion tube and barrel of the weapon itself fortified against the increased usage the weapon sees in combat, while also maintaining the same range as a standard ion cannon.
