HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Establishment and Rise of the First Order, 844 ABY
Unable to settle on Eriadu, forces of the fledgling First Order glass the system before moving further out into the Unknown Regions. There they find Dosuun, with relatively few settlements and plenty of land. The First Imperials settle on the world and establish their capital city of Avalonia. There they begin to grow in quiet corner of the Galaxy.
In 848 ABY the First Order rises to prominence, by aiding the galaxy in defeating Rogue Sith elements near Castameer during the Omega Crisis. Their naval efforts, led by Admirals Fiolette Yvarro, Cyrus Tregessar, Carlyle Rausgeber, among others, contribute to a coalition victory involving Mandalorian Clans and the emerging Galactic Alliance. They would soon find themselves as rivals to the Galactic Alliance and war would come around soon enough.
Seated in Avalonia, the First Order's reaches its apex and zenith somewhere between 852 and 853 ABY. Expanding from Dosuun to Fondor and moving towards Atrisia and the Core Worlds. Their influence grows, marking a period of significant expansion and power. This however also marks the beginning of the end. Toward the end of 855 ABY the First Order, weakened by internal strife and external pressures, faces a devastating assault from the Ssi-Ruuk Imperium. The Order's forces are overwhelmed, and a desperate evacuation ensues. Grand Moff Natasi Fortan sacrifices herself to buy time for the escape.
Avalonia and the rest of Dosuun and much of its neighboring systems would be devastated by what can only be described as the catalysmic onslaught of the Ssi-Ruuk Imperium's invasion of the First Order's territorties.
The following reflects Avalonia's history post-Sundering/Collapse.
A long military campaign had finally come to an end, and the Ssi-Ruuk had been driven out of the city and off-world. Still, the embers of devastation lingered and so the men and women of the military traded in their rifles and grenades, for hammers and duracrete. Funding for the city’s reconstruction came largely from the Sith Empire, and from donations via wealthy investors and former First Order citizens who fled for safety during the initial incursion.
The process began by taking apart what remained and sifting through the rubble for human remains. Those who could be identified via records with remaining kin were dealt with accordingly, while many others who had no remaining kin would be sent to the First National Mausoleum. It was the first structure to be constructed, a place for the dead and gone. A sobering reminder of what the city and planet had gone through.
The Sundering/Collapse of The First Order, 856 ABY.
In the year following the Great Galactic War, The First Order declined, languishing under an increasingly unstable regime. A period of expansionism marked by the Sith-Imperial Bloc Treaty was halted by Outer Rim Coalition and Alliance Remnant forces, and the Order’s fringe systems began to fracture as the bloated administration failed to keep them in line. Without the threat of the Galactic Alliance, the Order’s highly-militarised economy slowed, and to make matters worse, frequent infighting in government prevented strong leadership at even the highest levels of office. In mid 855, Grand Moff Natasi Fortan introduced a swathe of sweeping reforms under the Fortan Doctrine, turning the First Order’s focus on inward strength and cohesion. However, the reforms came too late, and with the Order the weakest it had been in years, an old enemy took its chance.
The Ssi Ruuvi Imperium’s strike against the First Order came seemingly from nowhere, the first battles resulting in massive naval losses on both sides, but the Imperium kept coming. At Dosuun, the Order’s beleaguered forces were ambushed and quickly overwhelmed, with Grand Moff Natasi Fortan sacrificing herself aboard the FIV Concordia to buy time for the evacuation.
The military regrouped at Bakura, calling upon their allies amongst the Chiss and the Sith in a desperate last stand. When finally Bakura fell, the meager remains of the military split in two, some heading to Lwhekk, to exact their revenge on the Ssi-Ruuk, and some falling back to the remote world of Pa’Desh, where they established the command centre for the few remaining First Imperial forces.
While some fell back to the jungle world of Pa’Desh, there were those who stayed behind, and for some, there was no other option. Thus began the Movement against the Ssi-Ruuvi Imperium where brave men and women banded together to exterminate the invaders from the planet. As they fought, supplies, munitions, and manpower began to run low. It was then they realized that this could very well be the end of all that they held dear and that the Grand Moff’s death had been in vain.
It was there in 857 that it was decided to welcome any help that would arrive. At first, it was the Chiss, as they fled the purge of the Heretical Conflict between the Jen’ari and the Sith Empire, and consequently the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Then in the year that followed, the Echani fled their homeworld as genocidal warlords and Mandalorians plunged their home into complete devastation. Each wave of refugees presented a new supply of manpower, a boost to morale - together they were able to drive back the Ssi-Ruuk and reclaim Avalonia, and then the rest of Dosuun.
By 859 the Imperium had all but been eliminated with few pockets left and the military prowess of the Avalonians grew once more. It was decided as the new year arrived that they would honor the woman who gave her life so that many more might have a chance at living. Grand Moff Natasi Fortan would be central in all that was done in Avalonia from there on out. Even more, Avalonia once more yearned to be part of the greater galaxy and thus the cogs began to turn toward a renewal of the First Order.
As Avalonia rises, and as Dosuun rises so too will the hope to revive the dream that a young woman from Galidraan once had. Bring about the changes she once hoped for, and forge a new path for the galaxy at large. It was said that remembrance was not just something you did, it was not something one could casually recall through their melancholy thoughts. It was a duty, a duty to remember all who perished and to remember why they perished, and to ensure that it would not happen again.
When 868 ABY rolled around the First Order had quietly stepped back from the galactic stage. Primo Victorian Enterprises stepped in to continue the work that had been established by Ariel Yvarro. Primo Victorian Enterprises, led by Ariel's mother Fiolette encouraged Dosuun to look upon governing itself and relying less on their fervent worship and need for Fiolette, her niece, and/or any other member of the family. Dosuun begins to shift towards self-governance and reduced dependence on the Fortan lineage. Elections are introduced, marking a significant change in Dosuun's governance structure.
Avalonia's Renaissance and the Rise of the Dosuunian Commonwealth, 878 ABY.
Concerns over the growing Eternal Empire prompt Dosuun to seek alliances with neighboring systems, including Seoul, Mephout, and Needan. The movement for Dosuun's security gains momentum. Meetings continue to occur between planetary leaders understanding that not everyone would be so sympathetic to their plight, their need to maintain their way of life, their First Imperial heritage and the freedoms of their people. Midway through 879 ABY Dosuun's government, in collaboration with neighboring systems, lays the groundwork for the Dosuunian Commonwealth.
Planetary leaders meet in Avalonia and sign the Dosuunian Accords, forming the basis for a new era of unity and cooperation. The Commonwealth begins to grow, welcoming more star systems into its fold and expanding its influence in the region. In 882 ABY, the Commonwealth ratifies its constitution, solidifying the structure and principles of the new interstellar nation. Avalonia is named capital and is once more the seat of government for an interstellar nation.
A new monarch emerges by 890 ABY, House Priestly is elected to the Crown, and Her Majesty Kelora Priestly ascends to the throne as the High Queen of the Dosuunian Commonwealth of Nations. Under her leadership, the Commonwealth enters a new chapter of governance and diplomacy. She establishes the Rose Palace on the outskirts of Avalonia proper, and makes it her primary residence.
