Imperial Palace & Capitol Complex - Formerly the seat of the Supreme Leader's government, including the Moff Council as well as the ministry offices for the cabinet Moffs. What was once a testament to the First Order's might, power and opulence is now a crater. The Palace was destroyed by the Ssi-Ruuk Imperium during the Sack of Dosuun, with a significant amount of firepower spent by the invading forces to destroy the nerve center of the First Order government. What resulted was the total destruction of the buildings and contents of the Palace and Capitol Complex. This total destruction includes furniture, artwork, computer hardware (including intelligence and other data caches that were destroyed either intentionally by the First Order prior to their retreat from the area, or during the bombardment).
Description: Avalonia was once a beautiful and impressive city, built with the aesthetics and moral values of the First Order at the front of mind. While it was a city with all the modern conveniences -- underground transport, utilities, etc. -- it is distinctly classical in style. Instead of chrome and glass and modernism, its construction was in masonry and metals. The streets were laid out in an orderly fashion, and clear signs were provided to allow the free flowing of traffic. The streets were broad, lined with lights and trees, with green spaces and plazas dotting the city blocks.
All this came to a shocking and catastrophic end when the Ssi-Ruuk Imperium attacked Dosuun for the second time in a decade. Instead of moving in to capture and entech the residents -- as they attempted the first time -- the Ssi-Ruuk attacked to destroy, to ensure that they would not be driven back as they had been during the Siege of Dosuun before. As a result, the bulk of Avalonia was destroyed by the invaders. What remains is a barren wasteland of a city, with ruins and debris filling the streets and squares and parks. Crashed ships and chunks of ship debris pepper the landscape, hundreds of fighters and dozens of capital ships having contributed to the intentional destruction of the city by the Imperium invaders.
The Ssi-Ruuk killed or captured almost all survivors of Avalonia following their conquest of the planet and the First Order's withdrawal from the city, leaving the city barely inhabited. Contributing to this is the fact that the city is an environmental hazard, thanks to the amount of reactor fuel and other biological hazards due to the crashes and battle debris. Most survivors live in the Underground tunnels, along which shelters were set up in the wake of the last Ssi-Ruuk attack. Some Ssi-Ruuk patrols are ongoing to capture or kill the last remaining holdouts and complete the final conquest of Avalonia.
History: Upon the First Order's conquest of Dosuun, Natasi Fortan -- then a First Order Commissioner -- was charged by the Supreme Leader with construction of a capital city for his new Empire. She was given more or less free reign over the design and construction of the city, in conjunction with budget priorities of the military and territorial expansion. The city grew gradually, first beginning with prefabricated structures that were phased out as permanent structures were built. As the First Order conquered more territory, resources became more freely available, and the city grew more quickly until shortly after the conquest of Thakwaa, a ceremony was announced to officially dedicate the city.
Avalonia served as the capital of the First Order for over a decade, until in a destructive and violent end to its status came in the form of the Ssi-Ruuk Imperium's attack, which destroyed Avalonia.
