Avery Designs was founded by Zai Avery, a former salvager. The main factory is based out of Rishi, while smaller factories are located on Ryloth and Tatooine. The corporation manufactures and sells land-based vehicles. Additionally, experimental droids are produced and tested within the Rishi factory. If the designs pass testing, then they are then sold to the public. A similar process is also in place for handheld electronic devices that are created. Vehicles and devices produced are made for utility and practicality. However, prospective buyers should know that droids may be esoteric in design and may not represent a particular function or intended purpose.
The financial aspects of the company are maintained by Zai’s personal droid, GR-8. Zai produces the new designs and blueprints while a workforce of former salvagers work on the production floor. Avery Designs pays taxes to the Galactic Empire but sells to all factions. Transactions are handled at factories on Ryloth and Tatooine but customers can also order stock from the holonet. Civilian and Military buyers are both accepted.
Private commissions may be accepted. However, It is up the company’s discretion as to if the commission is accepted.
RATIONALE
Rishi is Zai’s homeworld and he was raised in a salvager compound on the surface. During his younger years, the compound was raided by slavers and he was captured. After escaping, years later, Zai dreamed about returning to rebuild his home.
In the intervening time Zai had an internship on Corellia in a droid workshop. There he gained skills to augment what he had learned as a salvager, as well as an interest in droid design. When the owner died, Zai inherited the company’s financial droid, GR-8. After that, Zai joined up with the Red Devil Cartel and spent some time running with them.
When the Red Devil Cartel dissolved, Zai returned home. He used his newly acquired wealth to remodel the salvager compound into a factory and residential area. The factory was constructed quickly, with the members of the camp given jobs and assigned to on-site residencies.
When the factory was being designed, machinery for building vehicles was set up. However, when the factory was completed under budget, Zai invested in machinery that could construct droid components and delicate electronics.
