Strengths:
Fighter: Avin's life from birth to the present has revolved around ensuring his martial skills were good enough to survive.
Endurance: In some lives success comes to those who can act swiftly and decisively. In others there is a longer road within which one has to bear many more burdens.
Adaptable: To survive, sometimes there is not always an easy choice. Within overwhelming adversity one must become malleable in order not to be swept away.
Experienced: In a galaxy of conflict, one who has managed to make it through the years.
WEAKNESSES:
Not exactly an Ace: Avin has plenty of experience with the autopilot but fighter craft have never been his thing.
Out of Touch: While once, tapped into both the force and the realms of galactic politics, the old sentinel has drifted somewhat into an isolation.
Self-preservative: When one spends their life running and fighting to survive others can get left to the wayside. Whether habit or instinct the sentinel seems to have trouble sticking around.
Jaded: After a certain amount of attempts at restoring what was, falling apart. The will to keep believing anything can be done slips a little further from his grasp.

Avin tends to wear darker colors, however, aside from the common blacks and grays of the robes he can be seen in more traditional Jedi Garbs.

As far as is known Avin Starfire took his childhood in the same form as so many other billions of people that tend to the everyday workings of empires and republics. His earliest years were spent on docks in and around what is assumed to be the place of birth on Kuat. Famous for their massive contribution to large freighter and capital warship construction work was aplenty for the women known only to us as Catrina. Any further history on account of interrogation of Mr. Starfire himself comes up blank. The next documented shift was to the city-planet of Coruscant and the capital of order space at the time of his pre-teen years. The move was organized by the academy on Coruscant for service and military personnel, some scheme put forward by the chancellor of the time to get more rough youths from the core worlds into work. It was in this process the young boy was picked out for Jedi training from the Galactic Republic's Order.
At the age of 10, Avin started his Jedi Training much to the discontent of the more traditional masters at the time due to being considered too old, alas the war brewing with the One Sith soon pushed the decision through and he was adopted by a master and started training. The master who had picked up the young Jedi went by the name of Hawken Crick a master renowned in the order for his ability to study the combat styles of the Sith in order to develop against them and later for recovering artifacts detailing the form of Vaapad created centuries before by a powerful Jedi the records had forgotten to name. For these reasons Avin was pushed daily to his physical limits for almost two years before any formal training started, Master Crick was a hard teacher punishing any mistake with more grueling tasks yet always reserved and never out of spite. The little training that did happen at that time was that of basic force training and the adoption of lightsaber combat.
As training increased on the Jedi arts throughout his teenage years Avin was taught how to control his emotions first and foremost yet under the guidance and close watch of his master he was pushed to understand his emotions and use them as part of his own strength in combat and in some cases in meditation and thought. The physical training that had been with the boy for the last four years of his life was continued daily from before dawn until breakfast only to be followed by combat training until noon and only then would Avin be allowed to study other aspects of the force. Crick was criticized for his training methods being told he was too close to the dark ways after his own experiences.
As the young Jedi padawan passed his sixteenth year his study of the dark side was increasingly being pushed on missions and training excursions to see its evil in action. One such occasion was after a battle in a city province between the Sith and the planetary defense forces. Starfire although being so young was forced to help in the cleanup efforts of hundreds of decaying corpses from the streets and gutters. Experiences like this were drilled into him as a warning that the dark side only leads to suffering and death and that is why it needs to be eradicated from the galaxy.
His training concluded after Avin passed his trials on Coruscant and was sworn in as a Jedi Knight at the age of nineteen before being assigned as a guardian to the Investigatory branch of the Republic.
The newly appointed Knight's first two tours were based on stopping any organized criminal and terrorist threats on the republic core worlds including a mission to his home planet of Kuat.
His third tour sent Avin further afield to investigate reports of corruption and Darkside influence within the Jedi at the front lines in the war with the One Sith. Avin took months gathering evidence and setting up a network of loyal agents and Jedi Sentinels in position to find any hint of the dark side. After finding three different cases and destroying two with the use of Jedi Shadows Jedi Starfire called back to the Jedi temple for reinforcements only to receive word of the republic's fall as a man resembling Avin in appearance quite closely had intercepted the transmission.
Avin made a new name for himself after getting a ship free of Coruscant with an old friend from his undercover days. A smuggler and mercenary needed the extra hand.
He worked with the smuggling network, gaining his own ship and group of friends as well as his addiction to forget his past. Yet whence he was forced into a cell block with a certain queen of Imalayan Avin Started his new life.
First as an apprentice himself and Queen Raxis tended to issues within the system that had become his new salvation so far from the murky cloud in the core worlds that lingered. However, peace did not last, with conquest always in their sights the first order started to twist the minds of his master and he fled from her forces to a place of solitude and respite a continuing to his training on Monastery with the Lotus Order gave Avin a new perspective and his own force training under [member="Stardust Raxis"] and the Jedi on Coruscant giving him the mindset that allowed his return to Imalayan deep in the underbelly of society, to protect his queen as the peoples warden deep from within. In the sewers. Where no one thinks to look.
With the rise of the "Great War" Avin felt a disturbance in the force calling for his talents and more experienced abilities to return to the remnant of his old republic where he served as a Jedi Knight and protector of the republic.
