ADVANCED SYSTEMS

Highly Advanced Maneuvering Thrusters
: The Flying Falcon is equipped with top-of-the-line maneuvering thrusters for excellent combat agility and mobility.

Highly Advanced Engines : The Flying Falcon is equipped with top-of-the-line maneuvering thrusters for great combat speed capable of keeping up with all but the most purpose built agile aircraft.

STRENGTHS

Dedicated Interceptor:
The Flying Falcon is designed primarily to intercept, disrupt, and kill enemy bombers, reconnaissance craft, and enemy interceptors, and excels at this role with its excellent speed and maneuverability along with decent armament that allows it to fly circles around most of its opponents while whittling down their defenses.

SAWACs Synchronization: It is specially designed to work in conjunction with the Argus SAWACs craft to help with target identification, communications, and general combat guidance.

WEAKNESSES

No Shields, Thin Armor Due to cost, weight, and power restraints, the Flying Falcon does not have shields and has thin armor plating in order to allow it to still carry a decent complement of weapons with its speed and maneuverability.

Not Elite: The Falcon, while capable, is designed to be relatively economical to field in decent numbers, as such it is inherently not an “elite” interceptor equipped with the very best shields and armament as that would be prohibitively expensive.

DESCRIPTION

The AVSF-3 “Flying Falcon'' fighter is the interceptor variant of the AVSF-1 “Strike Eagle” upon which all Voland Military Enterprises strikecraft are derived from and a core component of the overall military doctrine the company works towards. It is designed to be an effective interceptor with great speed and mobility and decent armament in order to fulfill its role.

Effective tactical use of the Flying Falcon is to utilize its great speed and maneuverability to slaughter enemy recon craft and bombers, while avoiding, drawing away, or outmaneuvering their fighter escorts. It can be used as an effective, if fragile, dogfighter, but one’s pilot should be aware it will not last long under enemy fire and is more suited to a hit-and-run type engagement with heavier craft.

Strategically, the Flying Falcon is best used in light to moderate numbers to hunt down and destroy enemy bombers, interceptors, or scout aircraft. They are also excellent for rapid response CAP patrols around their parent capital ships, as they are specialized for destroying the bombers that pose the largest threat to them. They can be used as effective scouts in a pinch as well or escorts for the fast-moving Argus.
