- Siaber Crystal Power Generator - The heart of the new weapon system, the Siaber Crystal that powers each point defense system is the reason why the lasers are slightly stronger than normal point defense systems
- Turret Mount - The Librae system is mounted like a turret, allowing it to track an incoming projectile or starfighter in 360 degrees
- Six Barrel Design - A carry-over from the Nimbus Point Defense System, the Librae is also fashioned with six barrels to give it a highly advanced rate of fire
- Stopping Power - Due to the Siaber Crystal giving the system more power to draw upon, each laser fired from the system has the effectiveness of a heavy laser cannon
- Barrel Warping - If a continuous fire is sustained, the barrels on the Librae can melt and warp, leaving the system inoperable until repairs can be done
- Broken Crystal - Siaber Crystals, if broken, tend to disintegrate anything within a given radius. For the Librae Point Defense system, anything in a ten-meter radius will be atomized
- Bigger Ships - Even with the increased stopping power, the system is still only useful against incoming enemy projectiles and starfighters
As yet another part of Aurora's modernization plans for its ships and ship weapon systems, the engineers at the company began work on their next generation of point defense lasers. Liking the design of the older Nimbus, the engineers decided more on enhancing the systems rather than starting from scratch. To that end, the AW-PDx01 "Librae" Point Defense Laser was born.
Powered by Aurora's Siaber Crystal technology, the Librae can boast heightened stopping power over its predecessor due to the increased energy output. The engineers also streamlined and upgraded the system's weapon barrels, allowing them to lay down an even faster rate of fire than before, altough a warning is given to avoid too much continuous fire to avoid accidentally melting the barrels.
