OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
The Axiom-class Command Cruiser is a frigate, not a cruiser, or so some would claim. Globex disagrees. The official reason is its role as a command ship, its ability to operate independently (albeit usually in a communications or espionage capacity - something to command is pretty important for a command ship), and its cruiser-grade reactor. The unofficial reason is that test audiences responded poorly to 'command frigate'.
Despite classificational issues, it is an undeniably capable craft able to excel in its niche.
While no Axiom will ever achieve dashing victories on the field of war or heroically soar to the rescue of beleaguered innocents, they do an excellent job of facilitating such heroism from behind the scenes. Or, in the case of Globex's own Axioms, moving about fleets of automated ships.
In addition to serving as command or communications ships, some see service as espionage platforms or serve in customs fleets - a few Axioms may well prove more valuable than a comparable number of Star Destroyers if you are more worried about sneaky smugglers than invasions.
- Intent: Leading from the front is overrated.

- Can be Mass-Produced by replacing some of the rarer components used, importantly the Stargaze Engine, the Hyperdrive, and some of the more extraordinary additions to the communications suite. A select few Axioms have been produced with additions like cloaking devices and anti-stealth sensors - these could rightly be described as Semi-Unique and rarely make it to the open market.

- Hangar Allocations: The Axiom-class can carry a single squadron of support or combat vessels, or a mixture thereof.

- Manoeuvrability Rating: Average
- Speed Rating: Average
- Hyperdrive: 0.11
- The Axiom-class is outfitted with all the features and facilities one would expect from a vessel of its size and purpose.
- The Axiom-class is designed around an extremely powerful sensor array and even more impressive communications capabilities. In addition to more conventional uses, vessels of the class are able to serve in a real-time command capacity from lightyears away; while jamming vessels of the class isn't impossible, the layers upon layers of redundancy make it a herculean task. To sustain this array, Axioms are outfitted with a cruiser-grade Matter Annihilation Reactor - their impressive power output results in potent shields, but their hull strength is mediocre.
- The Axiom-class is equipped with a powerful hyperdrive and a Stargaze Engine. As a result, they can move quickly and discretely.
- Some Axioms are equipped with Hyperanchors. A useful feature, as some of their communicators work better in Hyperspace.
- Armchair Admiral: The Axiom-class is an ideal choice for customers looking for mobile communications hubs and commanders who prefer to lead from comfortable chairs located lightyears from the nearest foe. 'Some of you may die, but that is a sacrifice I am willing to make'.
- Overspecialised: The Axiom-class is specialised. Very, very specialised. Don't even think about using it for unintended purposes.
