Aydin was born in Naboo. At least that's what he was told. The boy never knew his parents only knowing that they died in some freak accident and that after their deaths his grandparents chose to raise him. His grandparents were strict but very loving people. There was never a moment in Aydin's upbringing where he felt unloved. His grandfather, Nikolas taught him how to fight at an early age even if though his Grandma didn't always agree. Grandpa Nik taught Aydin the importance of body control not just in fighting but in life. How body movement was a language. Different gestures and posture changings could be the difference between life and death and his grandfather wanted to be sure that the boy had some knowledge. Other than the body language, his training under his grandfather was normal. He learned ways to protect himself defensively and offensively. He learned how to handle one on one fights and being out numbered. But in Aydin's opinion the greatest single thing his grandfather taught him was how to be a good person. He never directly told the boy ways to be a good person but with his actions he taught Aydin everything he needed to know. Aydin thought nothing of this training as he was younger, just a way for him and his grandfather to spend more time together. It wasn't until a little later that he learned the truth.
That truth being that his grandfather was a rogue Jedi and that father and mother were not just nobodies but exiled Jedi who were kicked from the order for breaking the rules, forming attachments. Aydin was shocked to hear this revelation he had heard about the Jedi but never put two and two together to figure out that his grandfather was basically giving him Jedi knight training. His grandfather explained that their training started off as a way to gauge the boy's skills but then it grew into a way to bond and a way to ready Aydin because his force senstivity was greater than his parents and grandfather Nik.
