SPECIAL FEATURES
- Specialized compartment - The AZR's back compartment allows it to carry specialized tools to perform medical tasks when necessary.
- Optical scanners - Through its optical lens' the AZR can run a diagnostic on sentient beings with the scanners in its systems so it can determine the proper procedure.
- Personality - Similar to its predecessor, the AZR prioritizes the health of its patients and will do whatever is necessary to ensure the safety of those under its care. Unlike their predecessors however, where the AZ series were assistant droids, the AZR series are programmed to operate more independently as medical and mechanical personnel in an emergency, combat, or disaster zone. While they adhere to a command structure, the AZR series displays more assertive independence in their programming.
- Mountable - Also like its predecessor, the AZR can turn into a hovercraft that can be driven by a bipedal sentient.
- Security system - Because the AZR's can be deployed on the battlefield, countermeasures to slicing such as the Socketguard are installed. The last thing someone needs is for the droid to harm a patient because someone was able to hack it.
- Emergency medical workers - The AZR will do everything in its power to keep its patients alive. Thanks to their diagnostics they can immediately diagnose the issue and figure out the best course of treatment.
- Stronger together - Because of their diagnostic tools, AZR's can work together in a unit to delegate tasks. As an example, when repairing a damaged vehicle, the droids can pinpoint each part that needs repairs and fix the vehicle quickly and efficiently. In a medical sense, the AZR's can run diagnostics on a patient to determine the best means of stabilizing a patient.
- Up and away - The AZR possesses high repulsor lifts which can help it navigate as need to be to fix hard to reach parts, especially in places as high as 25 meters. Useful for rescuing people trapped in high places.
- EMP/Ion weakness - An EMP or ion weapon will immediately fry the AZR's internal systems, reducing it to scrap.
- Healer, not a fighter - The AZR is not designed to handle weapons and therefore relies on those capable for combat to protect it.
- Not a doctor - Although they are programmed to handle emergency medical situations involving almost any species of all ages and gender in the galaxy, they are limited in their capabilities. They can only keep you alive for as long as possible before being sent to a specialist to treat your ailment.
The AZR Emergency Medical Droid was designed by AIL after legally acquiring the original schematics from Cybot Galactica. Their goal was to create a medical droid that could be agile and versatile in both disaster and combat scenarios. Initially, they were made for military use in field hospitals assisting medical personnel, but their appearance was limited as they were put out on a test run. They found huge success however in the civilian sector after a refinery explosion in Balosar. A few droids were on standby in the local defense force regiment were sent in to control the damage and save any survivors. The droids jumped into action when on site. They were able to get into cracks in buildings and point out survivors that were trapped in hard to reach and cramped places so they could be recused. They administered medical treatment that prevented many deaths and even saved some survivors on their own. After this event, rescue organizations from across the GA purchased AZR units of their own. While the military don't use these droids as frequently, they realize that he AZR can assist on the front lines as shown by their efforts on Balosar by helping field medics and treating wounded under live fire.
