B&N Nook Lend-Me

First off I want to preface this with an apology if it's against the rules. I didn't think that it would be, but I'm sorry if it does break any since I wasn't meaning to.

Does anyone here have a Barnes and Noble Nook e-reader? Users of these devices who have purchased e-books are given the privilege to loan out some of their books, and some sites try to connect people together who read lots of books by loaning them out this way.

My problem is that I don't ever really have the same reading interests as people on those sites. I have a great deal of manga I purchased for my Nook along with some science fiction novels and I was wondering if anyone here was interested in lending books or borrowing them.

Once again, sorry if this is against the rules to ask at all!

I've got a Nook, but I think I've only purchased a few books for it.

Here's my list:
The Invasion (Animorphs Book #1) by K.A. Applegate
Article 5 by Kristen Simmons
Legend by Marie Lu
Looking for Alaska by John Green
NRSV Bible
Dracula by Bram Stoker
Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

If you see any you really want to borrow, let me know. I'm expecting my problem is the same as yours, different tastes, not to mention that I prefer my books in physical format.

Wow, I didn't know that I would get such a great response with this. Maybe I can loan something from you if you'd like to borrow something from me? I'm not sure if all the titles you listed were compatible with the Lend-Me feature, though. The last three are the public domain books that B&N gives to you when you first sign up.

I have the Forbidden Planet novelization, if you're at all interested, and a bunch of manga I purchased for it if you had any interest in reading manga. I actually prefer reading e-books since they take up less space, so I have a pretty big collection I bought. I have most of Vampire Hunter D and Brave if you're at all into manga, like I was saying.

It looks like the publisher isn't going to let me loan out my Star Trek or Robotech novels. Bleh!

I have a few martial arts books, and a few books from the Legend of Zelda series that it looks like it would let me loan out though.

Ironically I have a different translation of the Bible on Nook.

I'm waiting for the court case where a judge obliterates the 'lease' EULA and enforces the First Sale Doctrine for digital goods. This kind of thing annoys me to no end.

NRSV is my first and best love in Bible translations. NIV is okay, but I can't stand any of the King James Versions or its derivatives (like the Contemporary English, absolute trite!).

I'm not entirely sure how to add you for lending. Email? Or your nook 'name'?

I know exactly what you mean about the First Sale Doctrine. I'm annoyed in pretty much the same way that you are. Would you mind if I gave you a link to show you how to share books via the Nook? I could then share my email with you in a private message.

It might be useful to first discuss what you want to borrow and then get things set up. Once the loans are all through you can then remove the contact pretty easily.

Out of curiosity, is that a Kerbal Space Program character in your avatar? I've never played, but I am a big fan of the game Orbiter.

I never actually played Kerbal, but I have a friend that has and I recognized it for sure. Ever play Orbiter?

I'll send you a PM in a few moments!

Never played Orbiter, though I saw a few videos of it. Dunno, the controls look fun to master, but I think I would die screaming a few thousand times before I got there. And at least in KSP, I've got Jeb screaming along with me for s&g.

Haha, it really helps if you want to play Orbiter if you have a previous familiarity with the way that real life spaceships are flown around.
