Misc. Equipment:
Enhanced droid brain over the original
Built in personal shield
Much like the original B2 it holds an impressive durability
It’s intelligence is much greater than that of the original and allows for a quicker thinking unit without the notorious stupidity of the former version
Potent offensive capabilities
Incredibly weak to EMP and Ion based weaponry, able to entirely disable the droid
It’s agility is next to nonexistent
It has a very poor temperament still, and will gladly bash it’s way through lesser droids to make its way into combat
At the simple fact of the matter, there are ways to increase quality while matching quantity. This was far from the case for the original model of the B2 Super Battle Droid, famous for its extensive use in the Clone Wars of ancient history. They weren’t quite so comparable to the deadly force they once were, for the basic design itself held flaws that could cripple the droid to a crafty enemy,
And so did the CIS take the venture to improve on these flaws.
At the core the biggest issue was the intelligence of the B2 units, which was comparable to that of a generic Nar Shadda brute with a year of training. Repositioning the head of the model an enhanced droid brain was able to be installed, allowing wider communication from the B2 models and not a dull-witted intelligence that allowed them to be easily outsmarted (such as moving out of sight long enough for them to forget about the target), this did not fix all flaws though. As the B2 remained a highly temperamental unit that would gladly bash it’s way through lesser droids if it meant reaching combat.
In combat the droids remain more or less offensively the same, mounting two arms with twin Blaster Cannons to drown the enemy in a surprising amount of firepower with additions able to be added for a rocket launcher to deal with vehicle threats or a grenade launcher to deal with clumps of enemy infantry, though it is somewhat more durable than the previous model. Possessing a built in personal shield (of not extremely impressive quality) to add additional protection from blasters and explosives, this in addition with the continued frame of Duranium creates a durable heavy battle droid that the CIS can throw against stronger as well as tougher targets where the basic B1 Battle Droid simply cannot cut it. But it works fine in supporting it’s lesser droid kin, though the possibility of it smashing some into uselessness mid-combat is high if not put into the front rank of combat.
There remains a glaring weakness of course, one present in the vast majority of droid models: the B2-MKII is terribly weak to all Ion and EMP tech. Easily able to reduce it down to just a large hunk of metal.
