Baby Cthulhu Seeking Feedback

Netherworld

Well-Known Member
Hello all!

With a solid five months of active RP on this board under my belt, I feel like it's time to do a bit of a reality check.

General thoughts on me as a writer and/or person are welcome and appreciated, but I'm also looking to receive feedback on my characters.
Basically whatever comes to mind; characterization, writing, duels, attitude, etc.

The only thing I ask is that you keep a civil and respectful tone in your posts. As for the rest, go to town. :)

I thank you again for the sig!!!

I only know [member="Vrag"] and I don't like her :). Seriously, I love that character. She is one scary girl....fun to have on your side in a bar fight!

Literally how are you that awesome.
Stop.
And when I say stop I mean "wow, this writer is consistently cool, calm, and quite humorous. Every time I've talked/worked with them has been a good time. Even when I made mistakes they were chill about it. And they're great at art! Wow. Cool. I hope they stick around here for awhile."

Rock on, Cthulhu.

I greatly enjoy your work. I always find your narrative is clean and exceptionally written, making visualising events very easy for the reader. Your prose always displays a good consistency in your characters. I think you have a great approach to roleplay and you're always looking for enjoyable things to do with your characters.

As discussed on skype my main challenge for you is to get people to empathise with your characters. This can be done with any character, but I think you'll need to open up more of your internal monologue as your characters think their way through the world around them. No matter how dark the character, when I'm reading their POV in a book I like to get a feel for them, wear them, as I read what's going on.

Also you left me feedback when hardly any buggers have, so that's good too!

Mostly our relationship has been not IC but in the OOC realm. I’ve had the pleasure of RPing with Vrag and I do have to say it was one of my most enjoyable experiences. Vrag is a tough cookie and with the whole Vong I learned a lot from a part of Star Wars Legacy Canon that I didn’t know about. Sure, the Vong stuff felt like a bit much - but that’s just how it is. It provided a new challenge that I had never experienced before.

Growth of a character is something extremely important. That growth is easy when the Character is moving through the FU ranks or learning how to fight as an NFU etc. Growth seems to stagger at the Master level, because most writers feel their character is done, complete and has ultimate cosmic power. Role-playing with you as Spencer against Vrag opened my eyes to the possibilities that Spencer has for growth. Thank you for that and I hope I provided a pleasant experience with both the Duel and our capture thread. It has been one of my most enjoyable mini-arcs with Spencer and I can’t wait to see what else unfolds between the two if you wish to explore it more with me. Either way, Vrag is something else and she’s a horrifyingly beautiful addition to Chaos Canon.

[member="Netherworld"] the Factory Judge - Thought I’d post this in there too, because you asked for reviews as a person and I feel your Judge role also defines you. I love you and you've done your best to do everything possible to help make the factory better. You’ve helped people and have kept a consistent nature when dealing with people. You know when to back down and ask for help and when to extend a hand for someone who needs help and doesn’t want to ask for it. It's been a pleasure working with you and you’ve just made the Factory team better than before.

As a writer, Netherworld you’re amazing. I love reading the trials of your characters and how they respond. I do agree with [member="Rhys"], it would be good to see a bit more of what’s going on with them instead of trying to assume or feel what they’re going through by other means. I’d kill for a chance to get pretty deep in Vrag’s head or any of your other characters. There’s thought, love and maybe a bit of hate for all your characters that you put in. Keep up the good work and I’m glad to have you on this board. Hopefully we get to write together soon again.

Thank you
