Baby Names

So. I wonder if I alone am such a nerd, how much of a nerd you ask? I wonder, has anyone else thought of future baby names (for one of your own kids) and came up with SWRP related names? I lol'ed at the idea of Zaiden Dean (my own original chaos characters first name.) and Ashin Marie (in respect to [member="Ashin Varanin"] basically the most BA woman on site.)

I know. I'm a nerd. How bout you?

I would never give my child a sci-fi name.

Give your kid a name that matches your surname and actually means something. One of the things I absolutely can't stand is when parents give their kids made-up or intentionally misspelled names (ex. Jacen, Xzavier, Xzaiden). Well look at you, edgelord!

You might think it looks cool. But in the end you just have a kid with either a misspelled name, or a name that consists of a bunch of random syllables that doesn't translate to anything. Your kid's name is literally just meaningless babble.

It's also proven that lower class people are usually the ones who do this. So you're also marking your child as a trashy pleb.

I would imagine a name should mean something, this is absolutely true, but what does one thing that means something to you mean to me? Almost nothing. Sorry, just recieved that on the ruder side of things so had to retort. Same could be said for us lower class. Could also comment that 70%+ of the nicest people I have met are lower class but that's just me.

Another fun fact, is that a large percentage of names these days are strictly 'babble' as they no longer correlate to their original basis. Ie my sons name Samael being one of the originals that Samuel comes from.

Either way, thanks for the comment even though I disagree with it.

Oh... well than... Honestly only char ive ever thought of doing that as a real life name is Brianne and Alexandra, both my own chars, though Brianne would change into Brian if a boy was born first

I like my names to evoke a little history. If my lineage evolved from a specific country or geography, I'll pick a name that is home to that region. Since I have no idea where this child might be going, I'll name him with a little insight on where he's from.

I doubt I would call a girl Coci, I think they would be in for a hard time.

But Iella is nice as is Aerin, so if I was to do this, they would be the two to choose from

As for a boy, only have one male character, his name Flynn (which I got from Errol Flynn), which I do like a lot.

Not true. Unless your parents were hippies, chances are you have a name that translates directly into something based upon the language it came from.

There is no subjectivity in the matter. A name means what it means - see above.
