Biography
Lord Valisk was a Sith Lord of boundless ambition but limited ability. Valisk had some talent with the Dark Side but it was dwarfed by the major players among the galaxy, leaving him a bitter ageing figure seeking his power with increasing desperation. A stocky man with little charisma, his own attempt to build a power base had failed and he fell quickly into line within the rising Sith Empire. He worked among the bureaucrats, another Sith fading into the vast Sith Empire's state apparatus. Having accepted his limitations long ago, Valisk began work on another project. He would produce a child who would rule the galaxy.
Recruiting a Gand scientist by the name of Oss'lix to lead the project, the Sith Lord provided his own genetic material and that of a powerful force sensitive woman to grow his child in a test tube. The child's genes were spliced for beauty, strength, intelligence. Every desirable genetic trait that Valisk and Oss'lix could conceive of was placed into the child's DNA. But when the child was born something was very wrong.
There was no trace of the Force around her.
Angered and humiliated once more, Valisk considered killing Oss'lix and his baby daughter but stopped short of it. There was a chance, no matter how thin that the girl's force sensitivity was latent. If so Oss'lix would be needed to monitor progress and continue with cybernetic enhancement as the girl grew older.
The girl, Bailey, grew up in a cold, harsh environment. She was frequently pushed to her physical and mental limits, undergoing torture at the hands of her father who was desperate to bring out abilities she did not have. Bailey grew up in isolation. The friendliest face she had was Oss'lix, the Gand scientist taking some pride in the work he created. Oss'lix attended to Bailey's needs and could persuade Darth Valisk to ease up on his abuse of his daughter, claiming it would hinder her future development. Sometimes the Sith Lord relented. Sometimes he did not. However Oss'lix was also responsible for bodily augmentations which were often painful. Oss'lix was also no real substitute for a friend or family figure, the Gand scientist treating the young girl as his pet project rather than a living being.
Finally in her 20th year, Darth Valisk had utterly given up hope of his daughter being a Sith. He passed her onto the Sith-Imperial legion, hoping that she could at least earn his family name some prestige there until he decides on long term plans...
Bailey was quickly identified as a talented figure. She received top marks in piloting, sniping, heavy ordinance, unarmed combat and a variety of rifles, pistols and other combat tools. She was a perfect soldier in all ways except social. Bailey had had little social interaction with any person beyond the two men who created her and as such she was stunted, blunt and prone to misunderstandings. Violence had been normalised in the girl's mind and it wasn't uncommon for her to attack other recruits as she found exhilaration on at last finding people weaker than her. Twenty hard years of resentment and rage threatened to boil over. It was kept in check only by superiors used to training a variety of sadists. Bailey's skill and talent was unmistakable but so too was her shortcomings.
She was deployed three years later with the rank of Sergeant ready to serve her empire with the brutality required of her.
