Loyalties: Primeval
Role: An NPC Warlord meant to be disposed of by a PC interested in becoming the Warlord of the world that the NPC Warlord currently holds.
Development Threads: N/a
Age: 39
Species: "True" Ubese
Force Sensitivity: No
Appearance: Balac is defined totally defined by his armor, as an Ubese, he is extremely secretive about his appearance. His green and yellow armor define him as dutifully dedicated to revenge, and never leaves without an arsenal of weapons strapped to his armor to enact that duty should the need arise, as it did in the Invasion of Wayland.
Personality: As his armor indicates, his duty to Vengeance comes not in a single flavour, but many. Some of the main brackets of Vengeance he wishes to enact, would be: his Vengeance upon the Yrak pootzck, Vengeance upon the Galactic Republic, Vengeance upon the Jedi, and Vengeance against the pitiful Mandalorian Regime who he sees as not dedicated enough to the conquest of their enemies along with their disgraceful alliance with the Republic. So dedicated to his causes however, his personality seems to suffer in almost every other category. He spends his days preparing for the next battle, even if it shouldn't be for weeks, months, and in rare cases even years. His obsession with vengeance knows no bounds apparently, feeling extremely strong about his beliefs, even if he personally had suffered no direct ill will against him from those he wishes were dead. This marks the inherent, most likely sociopathic, extreme nature of his personality. He is unfettered in his bloody goals, and any he perceives as in the way have already wronged him, and they become part of his goals. In personal conversation, when he chooses to allow it, he is exceptionally gruff, acerbic, commanding, and little bit demeaning towards others... but very good at communicating information nonetheless, and practices brutal honesty... when he isn't holding secrets.
Weapon of Choice: Typically dual wields two blaster pistols, but will often carrying a blaster rifle as a secondary choice, and a spare flechette pistol in extreme situations.
Wealth: The Wealth of Wayland
Combat Function: Balac is often heavily armed, though perhaps not as much as other Mandalorians compared to him. He favours lighter weapons over heavy weapons to give him higher mobility, and a wider range of targets he can shoot at once when dual wielding. He relies so heavily in fact with light weapons, he has some difficulty wielding heavier weapons such as rifles, thus only uses them when necessary. His basic strategy is to take out as many targets as quickly as possible before finding cover of retreating into an ambush position. In a siege situation, his strategy is infiltration and terrorist-like sabotage.
Strengths
- Dual Wielder: There is one skill that this particular Ubese Mandalorian is exceptionally good at, being able to target multiple targets at once, and incapacitate or kill them each in rapid succession before hiding behind cover. His use of suppressive fire, also assist him when charging to a better position.
- Physically Powerful: To make up for his dependance on light weapons, Balac has put an incredible amount of work into his frame, allowing him to shrug off a number of hits to his armor that most would succumb to. This also comes to his advantage when he needs to draw his beskad, or use his rifle as a blunt instrument.
- Damage Dealer: Given his simple strategy and impressive skills, the Marauding Crusader knows how to deal devastating damage to the enemy, either through overwhelmingly rapid firepower, or through thought out explosive detonations.
- Reliant on Light Weapons: Given his extreme favorance for weapons he can dual wield, he has gained a rather significant drop in proficiency with weapons larger than a heavy pistol, such as blaster rifles. Meaning if you disarm him of his various light weapons, or force him into a position where a blaster rifle is necessary, his skills have diminished considerably.
- Reliant on Dual Wielding: Given his extreme favorance for weapons he can dual wield, he has trouble aiming with only one weapon in his hand. Although he can do it, it provides a significant initial distraction when one weapon is missing or disfunctional from use.
- Simpleton: Given his very direct and simple desires in life, and his favorance for less strategic solutions in combat situations, it's pretty obvious that he isn't extremely complicated. As such, the Ubese can be manipulated pretty easily... unless he sees or thinks you're a Jedi.
Notable Possessions: Twin Blaster Pistols, Flechette Pistol, Blaster Rifle, Beskad, One CryoBan grenade, numerous Thermal Detonators
Other Notes:
Adoption
Although it isn't known how Balac came to be, the young Ubese from Uba IV survived a crash upon a Mandalorian World at age nine... likely where his parents died. He was rescued by a nearby Clan of Mandalorians that had been stationed there, and once it was clear that the only survivor, a child, had no where else to go... that he was adopted. Not knowing Basic or Mando'a, nor being capable of speaking beyond a rasping whisper, it wasn't long before he was given a name: Opportunity. They named him Balac because although he had suffered greatly in the last few days, he had landed upon an opportunity to change his fate into something greater than an orphan... as a brother in arms. Balac never forgot his original culture, but having little other choice, and being genuinely grateful of the Mandalorians... adopted a new one to cope with the pain of loss.
One family in particular, an interspecies couple incapable of produce offspring of their own, took the young Ubese under their wing and taught him the tenets of the Mandalorians, and shaped him into an effective warrior worthy of battle... a man in the eyes of his peers.
Anger
Many years later, when the Mandalorian territories had grown large, but under threat of the Sith Empire, the young Ubese had become instead a Mandalorian Man of War... but he was not well developed into the current culture of the Mandalorians. Increasingly frustrated over the Mandalorians constantly inward attention, and defensive strategy against a burgeoning threat, along with the despicable and hated alliance with the Republic and the Jedi, Balac began considering abandoning his adopted culture altogether... or rather, that nation in which his culture resided in this age.Enraged by all that he saw wrong in his people these days, he informed his adoptive parents, and his clan that he was leaving on an independant venturing, welcoming all who would follow him. Few did, and his parents most of all disapproved of what they saw as teenaged and rash behavior. They attempted to correct, but it only drove him away.
As a bounty hunter, mercenary, and general vigilante of his own goals, Balac organized numerous strikes and terrorist-like attacks on the Sith Empire's upper leadership, even going so far as calling hits and assassinating targets. Unfortunately, he carried out these same operations on the Republic, but more fervently. Knowing that the Sith Empire cared little of their civilian populations, his operations in Imperials space were moderately tame... especially in comparison to the brutal total warfare tactics he engaged upon the Republic. If the Clan knew of his actions, he would have been declared Dar'manda for his rather heinous crimes.
Avengence
More years passed, the Sith Empire fell, and the anger within Balac's heart never subsided. Ruthlessly, his attacks against the Republic continued in relative secrecy, while in Mandalorian space, whenever he deigned to show his face around, continued to call for a more hostile and expansive Mandalorian Regime.Eventually, his voice was heard, and was recruited by the splinter organization of the Mandalorian Crusaders, who wanted to fall back into the age of Mandalorian Conquerors. Shortly thereafter, the organization found outside support in the form of the Primeval, and although he, like many of his fellow new brothers, was hesitant about working with a faction so closely allied with the Sith found it to be the only, and necessary option to initiate the change in Regime that he desired out of the Mandalorian Empire.
He was there, fighting against former brothers, when Wayland fell... and being the first Mandalorian world to fall to the Primeval, it was only fitting, and a fair trade that a Crusader should be the one to rule. Given the decentralized nature of the Crusaders, it was less difficult for the imposing Ubese to exert his dominance on the lesser contestants for ruling Wayland, and after appealing to some of the elders of the group, claimed Wayland as his to watch over and control.
Which is what he is doing, supervising the burning planes of the newly conquered planet.
Intent: An NPC Warlord meant to be disposed of by a PC interested in becoming the Warlord of the world that the NPC Warlord currently holds.
